Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 164: Chapter 143: Time to Get Up

Han’er looked at the Four-sided Age Fire Lamp in Wu Chang’s hand, his gaze irresistibly drawn to it. The flames, red with gold, and the delicate and luxurious lamp body—it was obvious at a glance that it was no ordinary item.

More importantly, it was the last thing Wu Chang said.

Let them live a little longer.

Combining the Soul Light Sect’s signature resurrection ritual, Han’er speculated on what Wu Chang was doing but didn’t dare to confirm, tentatively asking, ”This special oil lamp, is it the sacred artifact you... fought to acquire?”

Han’er originally wanted to say ”stole,” but Wu Chang gave him a glare, so he immediately changed his wording.

Wu Chang nodded and said, ”The flame in this lamp represents the life flame of the human world. Being illuminated by this fire can enhance vitality, slow down death, and even bring back the dead.”

As he spoke, Han’er could see the struggling expressions on the faces of those in the coffins next to the Golden Throne.

Their faces first became pale, as if devoid of life, but the next moment were flushed again by the firelight, exhaled their final breath, and then inhaled it once more.

The process endlessly cycled, revealing their desperate wish to die, yet death eluded them.

Prolonging life was originally a delightful thing, but for these few, it seemed not joyful at all.

Minute by minute passed, and as the center minute of the Blood Moon Eternal Life arrived, the glow of the blood moon ceased being bright and turned into a deep, dark red.

When the dark Blood Moon Power shines on anyone, they transform into the monsters wandering in the Kingdom’s Great Cemetery.

Feeling the change in the Blood Moon Power, those in the coffins, not yet completely dead, instinctively feared, their bodies started to tremble, wishing to awaken and end this ritual.

Yet, for the sake of entering death promptly, they were critically injured, completely dying, making survival instincts useless against such severe wounds.

But just as they wanted to live, Wu Chang put away the Four-sided Age Fire Lamp.

Without the lamp’s illumination, they uncontrollably slid into death.

Wu Chang sighed, facing the Duke Luz’s coffin, and said, ”Sorry, the free trial of escaping death for a minute has ended. You can continue enjoying the life extension service by subscribing. Would you like to subscribe?”

After waiting a moment, seeing no response, Wu Chang shook his head, regretfully saying to Han’er, ”Tch, another group that freeloads.”

Without the lamp’s glow, those in the coffins lasted less than half a minute before completely dying.

Completely dead, under the blood moon’s light, their bodies swelled and distorted, every blood vessel, every muscle, even every muscle fiber, uncontrollably shifted position.

Their bodies continuously changed shape, like AI-generated videos, randomly transforming, absurd and magical.

Wu Chang waved a hand towards Han’er, saying, ”Looks like they’ll be busy for a while yet. Let’s go outside and wait.”

On the other side of the Royal Tomb, without the hindrance of the Eternal Life Cemetery, the Blood Moon Power completely covered the entire graveyard.

Within the graveyard, the already rampant zombie hordes were instantly strengthened, starting attacks on the various Gravekeeper’s cabins.

Facing a world-end blood red sky and the surging zombie tide, even Lei Hu felt numb.

He looked at the Ranger beside him and asked, ”Are you sure anyone can survive for thirty days in this dungeon?”

”Maybe something unexpected happened in certain parts of the dungeon.”

Ranger also sweated, it shouldn’t be this way, with his experience, even near out-of-control dungeons wouldn’t completely deprive players of a chance to clear.

Is it that B-level dungeons are different?

No, if B-level near out-of-control dungeons were so bizarre, their employer wouldn’t need to spend so much to hire them, leaving it alone, no one could stop the dungeon from losing control.

In terms of dungeon clearing, Lei Hu was not proficient, so he could only consult the Ranger.

”What should we do now, just leave?”

The item given by clients to leave the dungeon can only be used outside combat state. A decision must be made quickly; if they stubbornly defend the Gravekeeper’s cabin, and enter combat state, it would be too late to escape.

Ranger hesitated for a moment then shook his head, saying, ”The mutation occurred after night patrol, it does not affect our main quest. I suspect this is a sudden event within the dungeon plane, not necessarily a precursor to dungeon collapse.”

”I suggest we first withdraw to Sirena City District, avoid this wave of crisis, and wait until tomorrow night. If abnormal events haven’t calmed, then we leave. That way, even if the client pursues the issue, we have a reason. Otherwise...”

The Ranger didn’t finish speaking, but Lei Hu understood his meaning.

The other party paid such a high price, even prepared accessories to leave the dungeon, evidently determined for the Midnight Cemetery to run out of control.

If they exited prematurely without knowing the outcome, it might be fine if the dungeon was out of control, but if it wasn’t, the other party definitely wouldn’t let them off.

It’s obvious, the client who issued the commission must have a significant background. If something goes wrong, the Iron Armor Corps certainly wouldn’t protect the two of them.

Lei Hu sighed, agreeing with Ranger’s view, and said, ”Then let’s go now!”

The two didn’t think of calling Guang Zhi, Oda, and the half-orc, and stealthily left the Gravekeeper’s cabin.
