Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 297: Chapter 296: Innocent Like a Fool

Although he made Kozuki Oden dance just to buy time, if things hadn’t gone increasingly wrong, he could still fool Oden into continuing to dance.

But the problem was that Kozuki Oden’s actions could also be seen as ”enduring humiliation for a greater cause,” and yet he chose to persuade the other side to leave after years of work? This made all the initial efforts go to waste.

However, the issue was that Kozuki Oden had his own understanding as well. If it were the pre-voyage Kozuki Oden, then he would indeed choose to fight no matter what, without wasting even these years.

But he changed a lot after going to sea; he was no longer the ruthless man who boiled oden over someone’s ashes. His strength had increased, but it also made him more indecisive.

The grassy fields of Kibi, the ranch, the smiles on residents’ faces, the assistance brought by the Pokemon Center, and the scene of the Squirtle Fire Brigade fighting the fire lingered in his mind, which is why he didn’t follow the script.

Upon hearing Oden’s words, Kaidou suddenly felt that this boring venue became different; such a naive guy was not something you come across everywhere.

”Glug~ Glug~”

The wine gourd at his waist was almost half-empty, and then he produced a Wolf Fang Club from somewhere, slamming it in front of him with a thud.

”Mwahahaha, that evil dragon is me? Then you’re saying the clown enduring humiliation is Orochi? Truly flattering oneself.

Kozuki Oden, do you really believe the words of Kurozumi Orochi? Even foolishly danced for years? Your father was killed by him, you know.”

Although Kozuki Sukiyaki is currently imprisoned by Orochi in some secret chamber, Kaidou did not know this, and he didn’t think a living former General had any significance.

Hearing Kaidou’s remarks, both Kozuki Oden and Kurozumi Orochi’s expressions changed, but Orochi’s expression changed even more.

”Go...Lord Oden! That guy is spouting nonsense! He must have discovered something and is trying to sow discord; you mustn’t believe him!”

He couldn’t even handle one enemy, let alone two. He could already feel the killing intent from the Daimyo.

Clearly, his script was a bloody conflict between the Daimyo of Wano Kuni and the Hundred Beasts Pirates, and now it seemed like they were about to clean him up. At this point, Kaidou was not going to trust him anymore, so his only support was Kozuki Oden.

However, Kaidou didn’t plan on giving him another chance to speak nonsensically; he swung a Kongo·Arrow at Orochi, but it was still blocked by Kurozumi Semimaru’s Barrier-Barrier Fruit.

”Tsk, troublesome Fruit Ability.”

”That guy is just a waste; any one of us could expel him, but Kaidou, it’s your military strength that we need to be cautious of.”

Shimotsuki Yasuie had already drawn his sword. They were ready for a decisive battle, and changing the script temporarily didn’t affect their continued plans.

”Kaidou, Wano Kuni is not a place you should stay. Here, we will open the country and welcome Joy Boy. One day, in the future, he will definitely come here, so you must leave.”

”I’m not going anywhere. It’s precisely because this is Wano Kuni that I came here. Kozuki Oden, put away your foolish innocence.”

Kaidou slowly stood up, while Kurozumi Orochi pressed a few buttons in his hand. The fireworks in the sky seemed to have changed color, followed by the sound of gunfire.

He was truly afraid that Kaidou and Kozuki Oden would reach some agreement, so he hastened the chaos below.

”Lord Oden! Oden Castle is on fire!”

From the Flower Capital, one could see the taller buildings in other regions, like Oden Castle, and now the burning Oden Castle was extremely conspicuous.

This was also part of Kurozumi Orochi’s plan.

Now it seemed that relying on Kaidou was impossible; even if they didn’t perish together, Orochi had to ensure Oden’s victory, or his own fate would be quite miserable.

So when signaling the start of the war, he also conveyed orders to his undercover agents. Oden’s household attendants had essentially split into two groups, with some following him here, while others were protecting Kozuki Toki and her group.

That was Kozuki Oden’s biggest weakness today and the best way to motivate his actions.

In fact, it wasn’t just Oden Castle; the entire Wano Kuni seemed to be in chaos. Kurozumi Orochi’s ultimate goal hadn’t been exposed, and they weren’t aware that Kurozumi Orochi wanted to destroy Wano Kuni.

In the eyes of the general populace of Wano Kuni, Orochi was at most power-hungry, so this incident was attributed to the actions of the Hundred Beasts Pirates.

The sounds of warfare outside gradually infiltrated inside, and some maids accidentally dropped their trays, which almost became the signal for the battle to begin.

Oden hadn’t taken action yet, but some people were already unable to restrain themselves.

”Wait!”

”Kaidou, prepare to die! Foxfire Style: Karyu Issen!”

Accompanying Oden, Kinemon’s sword ignited with flames as he charged toward Kaidou, but Kaidou didn’t even glance at him. With a single hand using the Hassaikai, he swatted him away.

The people inside the Flower Capital Palace also began fleeing outside, especially Kurozumi Orochi, shouting orders for the Imperial Court Guards to help eliminate the Hundred Beasts Pirates, but he himself ran farther and farther under the cover of the Barrier-Barrier Fruit.

”Kaidou, handle this on your own. Some of these guys have reached the end of their ropes.”

”I was going to tell you not to intervene over here. These guys should bring quite a bit of fun.”

Arceus walked in the direction where Kurozumi Orochi was fleeing, and as for those who attempted to stop him, he ignored them completely. Someone had already cleared a path for him.

Kozuki Oden ultimately took out his weapons under the compulsion of the battle situation.

A white and a purple, both part of the Twenty-One Great Grade Blades, the Ame no Habakiri, said to cut down the sky, and Enma, which conquered hell, revealed their sharpness again after being sealed for years. However, someone was even more impulsive than Kozuki Oden.

”Kaidou, you harmed my household attendants...”

Watching Kinemon, who was sent flying by Kaidou, Kozuki Oden’s expression turned unpleasant.

”That kind of person who couldn’t grasp the situation is your household attendant? That’s really poor... ”

Just as he was speaking, Kaidou felt slapped in the face as Queen’s massive body suddenly came flying out and crashed into their side.

A special aura also reached here. Although it didn’t have much impact, both Kaidou and Kozuki Oden understood it was the aura of the Supreme King.

”Recently awakened Supreme King? Is it Yamato? That girl is quite something.”

He wasn’t sure if this was Yamato’s Supreme King power, given the distance, but it didn’t stop him from getting excited. Transforming into a great dragon, he directly broke through the roof here.

”The venue is too small; come out, Oden. The war has begun!”
