Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 257: Chapter 256: Stone Plate and New Ideas

Except for the so-called indestructible plate that Kaidou has been searching for all over the world, the World Government doesn’t know what else could move him. Ordinary Zoan types probably wouldn’t impress him either, and as for Mythical Zoan fruits, they certainly don’t want to aid the enemy.

Currently, there are no weaklings with Mythical Zoan abilities. Sengoku, Kaidou, and the new generation’s Marco - those who acquire Mythical Zoan abilities are rare and strong individuals, not to mention that group of ”Mythical Zoan” officers under Kaidou.

Except for Kurozumi Orochi, a disgrace to the Mythical Zoan, all those with Mythical Zoan abilities on the seas today are formidable.

They initially thought obtaining something from the Heavenly Celestial Dragons would be very complicated, but unexpectedly, Mjosgard didn’t make it difficult for them this time and readily agreed to the exchange.

However, they didn’t realize that this behavior was the biggest act of aiding the enemy.

Although external rumors suggest that Kaidou wants to create an indestructible armor, which the World Government sees as foolish, a plate would enhance the current Hundred Beasts Pirate Crew far more than a single Devil Fruit.

”Thank you for your generosity, Saint Mjosgard, you’ve done the government a great favor.”

”Don’t waste this young master’s time if there’s nothing serious. I don’t know what you want with a piece of worthless stone.”

That stone wasn’t originally with Mjosgard, but he won it in a slave gambling match with someone a few days ago.

If it had been in the hands of that Heavenly Celestial Dragon, it would have been very hard to trade for it, as every Celestial Dragon’s preferences differ, even within the same family.

The affable Honagu, Mjosgard who likes Fishmen slaves, and that rock-collecting Donquixote family member are examples.

With the plate in hand, the World Government agents left and handed it to the CP0 members waiting outside.

”We’ve given you the item. If you fail again this time, don’t bother coming back.”

Trading with the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, even though it went smoothly, left him drenched in sweat. If it weren’t for orders from above, he wouldn’t have wanted to handle this at all.

Since they contacted face-to-face this time, Omanyte didn’t eavesdrop on any similar information until they called Kaidou again.

...

On Ghost Island, Kaidou was still training Yamato. It was no longer just dodge ball-type training, and Yamato now had a new task, standing before Kaidou with Akeno No. 3 in hand.

”Listen up, Yamato, your task is simple. If you can make me move my second finger, I’ll consider you qualified. Now, you can attack.”

She had reached this point, sparring with Kaidou. However, even with Haki enhancement, she couldn’t contend with even one of Kaidou’s fingers.

At that moment, the World Government called as well. Kaidou casually flicked Yamato aside with a snap of a finger before picking up the phone.

”Kaidou, the old place, let’s meet again. This time, we’ve brought what you need, trading stone for stone. You should be able to accept this deal, right?”

After lengthy price negotiations, Kaidou and Arceus finally got what they needed, allowing the transaction to proceed. However, what Kaidou said next caught CP0 completely off guard.

”Not bad, if it’s true, then we can trade. So, how much do you plan to pay per kilogram of Seastone?”

”Kaidou, what do you mean by this?”

”What do I mean? Buying things costs money. Don’t you understand such a simple principle?”

Kaidou’s words made their scalp tingle. Of course, they knew that buying things costs money.

But after all the effort to exchange items with the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, Kaidou demanded extra payment, making them feel like he was exploiting them.

”Don’t you understand the concept of barter?”

”Of course I do. I’m very honest in transactions, but you World Government scoundrels are different. Without this, I wouldn’t even bother with you; this merely gives you trading eligibility, understand?”

They were very upset, but there was nothing they could do. Kaidou’s business was almost monopolistic, and needing Seastone desperately, they had no choice but to agree.

”By the way, no money, I want gold. I don’t want to see the new money you print.”

The World Government wasn’t above doing such things, which usually meant the Belly would depreciate, making gold more reliable in maintaining value.

In this matter, CP0’s agents had no recourse but to prepare to request more funds because Kaidou hung up the phone.

After Kaidou ended the call, Yamato stood up, clutching the bump on her head.

”Father, who was on the phone? I hate that guy.” A single call changed Kaidou’s attitude. For the growing child, often they won’t resent their parents until they’re completely disillusioned.

This is true for most as some are born rogues, unrelated to upbringing.

Most transfer their animosity toward those causing their parents to behave that way, and Yamato had already done so.

”CP0, World Government’s lapdogs, and your future enemies.”

”Understood, I’ll personally punch them away in the future.”

Far away, CP0 was unaware that they had inadvertently offended someone...

...

A few days later, it was still the same island in the Windless Zone where Kaidou appeared once more. This time, he brought no one else, only some processed Seastone products.

Of course, this demanded extra payment, but processing Seastone products is difficult outside of Wano Kuni, so saving on processing fees meant giving up more.

As for why Arceus didn’t come along, it’s simply because he deemed it inconvenient to show up before these people.

In fact, Kaidou considered hijacking the plate mid-journey, but to avoid the possibility that the World Government had more than one plate, they gave up that idea.

”Here’s your Seastone. Where’s my stuff?”

Two large crates were thrown aside by Kaidou, full of Seastone handcuffs and chains. The purity wasn’t high, but the outside world never demanded high purity for Seastone products, as long as it was made of Seastone.

Even Seastone of the lowest purity is something ordinary ability users can’t resist.

”Here, the gold and the stone you wanted.”

Kaidou looked at his Plate Radar, learning a lesson from the last incident with Orochi, and didn’t relax until the Plate Radar indicated a response, then breathed fire over the gold.

This is one effective way to verify gold, and then he got a Golden Ball, leaving with everything immediately.

Not dawdling on the road, he returned to Wano Kuni at full speed, and the plate was restored within Arceus.

”How’s it?”

”Not bad, only nine remain now, and as for this one... I have a new idea.”

Then Arceus and Kaidou headed to the Udon Mine. Given the plate’s Rock-type attribute and the Udon Mine’s abundant Seastone minerals.

Pokemon are not immutable; they can evolve new attributes and traits according to their living environments.

Many Rock-type Pokemon are made of rock bodies: granite, shale, obsidian, and numerous minerals are types of rock, and Seastone is no exception.

Arceus intends to create something entirely new, and if successful, it would be new Pokemon in the Wano Kuni region...
