Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 273: Chapter 272: Miraculous Thought Process

On its return journey, the Origin first dropped off Tesoro and his group on another island, which is also a hinterland of the Beast Pirates and typically free from trouble.

The original manager of the Hundred Beasts Fruit store here was promoted, while Tesoro arrived as an outsider manager.

Most of the workers in this area are ordinary people from the island, and their lives bear the responsibility of the island’s economic flow. Naturally, some harbored dissatisfaction towards the manager parachuted in.

However, the Beast Pirates people didn’t intervene in this matter; if he couldn’t handle such a small issue, then it was the limit of his capability.

According to the rules, when people from Hundred Beasts Fruit contact the Beast Pirates, they have a code name. At this time, Tesoro also received his code name - Giovanni.

After a period of sailing, the Origin returned to the borders of Wano Kuni, and in these short two months, Wano Kuni had undergone many changes once again.

For example, Musashi’s nursing career came to an end as the first Chansey training class concluded, and she was recognized as lacking any nursing talent. However, both the Hundred Beasts Pokemon Center and Kojiro Trading Company are secretly controlled by the Beast Pirates.

Thus, Musashi was reassigned, being placed under Kojiro’s Trading Company to be responsible for the security work in some areas. Unlike the old-fashioned locals of Wano Kuni, Kojiro loved to absorb outside influences.

During a trip that Arceus, Yamato, and the others took to Shampodi, Kojiro took some time to inspect the business models of the Beast Pirates’ affiliated islands beyond Wano Kuni.

Upon his return, he built the first shopping center in Wano Kuni, pioneering the type of shopping where one takes the goods first and pays afterward.

With Rotom around, setting up a few scanning machines wasn’t difficult; the tough part was dealing with smuggling issues.

There are always some with low morals in a group. He didn’t hesitate to have dogs search men, but it was more challenging with women, and sometimes his business suffered when dealing with some who tried to cheat.

And since he was in business, he couldn’t very well put a knife to someone’s throat, as that would drive people away.

Therefore, he urgently needed a batch of female employees with strength.

Musashi and her former girlfriends were thus redistributed under Kojiro, becoming security personnel at the Flower Capital Supermarket.

Their lives were uneventful for the members of the Beast Pirates who remained in Wano Kuni.

Daily training, wandering on Flower Street, fishing, and fruit picking in the villages, or gathering for group drinking on Ghost Island if not going out.

And periodically mocking Kozuki Oden, expressing their disdain. This wasn’t Kaidou’s instruction; a normal person seeing someone dance like that would react the same way.

Meanwhile, Shimotsuki Yasuie had secretly gathered 500 reliable people. His actions required both strength and credibility, and ordinary people simply wouldn’t do, thus necessitating this slow, covert recruitment method.

To Kurozumi Orochi, this was far from sufficient. The Beast Pirates stationed on the mainland of Wano Kuni alone had over a thousand pirates. He didn’t want his trusted aides to risk their lives, so he needed the Kozuki and Beast forces to at least be equal.

Moreover, Kozuki Oden’s actions were making more people look at him with bizarre emotions, except for Yasuie, who knew the inside story. Even his household attendants couldn’t understand his behavior. ℯℯ𝑙.

Only Kozuki Toki continued to support him silently, believing that Oden had his reasons for doing so. On this day, an intelligence report sent by Kurozumi Orochi aroused Shimotsuki Yasuie’s suspicion.

”You say this is from the Beasts?”

”Yes, Lord Yasuie, these are said to be lists of personnel in Wano Kuni that the Beasts are trying to win over. I think we need to figure out the details of this list, or else our plans might be exposed, and Lord Oden’s efforts would be in vain.”

”Our people can’t reach Ghost Island.”

”There’s no need to worry about that. I’ve already found out that in order to win over those people, they placed the list with Kojiro. That thing is in his safe, but it seems the safe is a fingerprint lock...”

After some discussion, they deemed obtaining the list necessary. However, such a task wasn’t suitable for warriors; an infiltration operation was more suitable for a Ninja, and coincidentally, Oden had a Ninja in his command.

Since they were going to act, some things needed to be said, so Raizo was summoned alone by Kozuki Oden. After hearing Kozuki Oden and Shimotsuki Yasuie’s description of the matter, Raizo was moved to tears.

”Lord Oden, as your retainer, to let you bear such great humiliation while we could not understand you... it truly is a humiliation to us... I, I...”

”Enough, Raizo, now is not the time for tears. As a ninja, you need to find a way to bring that thing out.”

”Understood, leave it to me. I will surely complete the task.”

While they were nervously preparing, Kojiro remained quite composed. This was a rumor he had deliberately spread, one purpose of which was to test the security level of his home; these people needed a real-world exercise.

On the other hand, it was to sow discord; that list was a carefully prepared collection of items.

The Ninjas in Wano Kuni have always been a mystery; most so-called ninjutsu is merely performed with special tools for sneak attacks or through body techniques to achieve feats unattainable by ordinary people.

The security at his residence did not satisfy Kojiro; the patrolmen hadn’t noticed Raizo’s presence. Only a certain animal spotted him, but Kojiro didn’t let it raise the alarm as he wanted to test these people’s abilities.

Raizo successfully bypassed the guards in the yard and reached the location of the treasure chest. Looking at the fingerprint-lock position, he took out Kojiro’s fingerprint prepared in advance, pressed it against his finger, and placed it on.

Kojiro frequenting many places regularly made obtaining his fingerprint not too difficult. However, the next moment, an electric current surged from the switch, shocking Raizo thoroughly inside and out.

This was Queen’s absurd design. Although it was a fingerprint lock, as long as the fingerprint was correct, it would electrocute the person. The correct way to unlock it was to pry open the fingerprint area and use a separate key to unlock it.

According to him, only someone trying to steal would think of getting a real fingerprint. This design was supposedly flawless because a normal person wouldn’t think there’d be a keyhole hidden beneath the fingerprint lock, which was just tested this time.

It seemed effective so far, except Kojiro replaced the alarm with a device that would dispense the list when shocked, so the thoroughly shocked Raizo still managed to escape with the list, catching a glimpse of the name Hyogoro on the corner of the list...
