Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 282: Chapter 281: One Who Cannot Protect Their People Is Unworthy to Be King

The Fur Tribe’s own strength comes from three reasons: the powerful eruption of the Moon Lion under the full moon, the lightning attack attached by the static generated by their fur, and the enhancement brought by their Beastman physique.

Now it’s a new moon, with only a thin crescent remaining in the sky, the Fur Tribe’s greatest trump card cannot be used, and compared to the trained agents, their physical qualities don’t hold much advantage.

Their ability to perform elemental attacks was the last card in their hand, but the appearance of the Store-Store Fruit User robbed them of even this last card.

Originally, the Fur Tribe had the advantage of numbers in battles against enemy nations, but Caesar’s anesthesia gas put most of them to sleep, nullifying even the numerical advantage.

The Fur Tribe was a nation of soldiers, with even children and the elderly not weaker than an average adult human soldier. This was the reason the World Government initially planned a stealth operation; it was only due to the tribe’s festival that they changed tactics.

”Bastard...”

Hatch shook his head to shake off the dizziness that followed a heavy blow. His steps became quite unsteady, but he still used his sword to support himself and stand up.

”Truly a fine sword. The girl’s gift is indeed remarkable.”

The refined weapon mixed with Wine Iron Ore hadn’t dulled even now, and such a weapon would be expensive even in the outside world, let alone in mineral-poor Zou.

”Sizzle~”

”I’d like to see if you really are unafraid of electricity!” Lightning once again wrapped around Hatch’s sword as he charged towards the opponent with power from his hind legs.

Hatch wasn’t the only one among the Fur Tribe attacking the ability user; they still had the advantage in numbers, and many weaker agents had already been defeated.

The Fur Tribe, with freed hands, could naturally tell who posed the greatest threat. Besides the leader fighting with Hichugiskhan, this big fellow was the hardest to deal with, evidenced by the defeated Fur Tribe members at his feet.

”Tekkai Kenpo, Heavy Hammer!”

The principle of Tekkai is to accelerate blood flow, making muscles and skin attain the hardness of steel. In most cases, Tekkai’s effect is still sufficient.

In the worst case, it can obscure one’s mind, making oneself believe they can withstand the enemy’s attack, thus serving as a human shield.

However, the downside of Tekkai is that the muscles cannot move freely when tense, usually causing movements to become rigid, though this can be overcome through training, allowing for free movement while maintaining Tekkai.

This CP agent specialized in Tekkai naturally achieved this. Facing the attacking Fur Tribe, an invisible wave emanated from him as the center, and then the standing fur of the tribe, due to static electricity, softened.

A battery icon appeared on his chest, showing the energy bar’s limit of his storage capacity.

”Boom!” The ground was smashed into a large pit, and several Fur Tribe members were flung aside with it.

Hichugiskhan faced a tough time with the Logia-type Cloud-Cloud Fruit. Although Haki could touch a Logia-type Ability User’s body, they also have their methods of countering.

Upon using Observation Haki to sense an incoming attack, they could diffuse the part of the body preemptively, so the Haki has no effect without contact.

”Stop wasting effort, you’re no match for me. We only need a dozen Fur Tribe members. Why not give up your resistance? Regardless, the outcome won’t change, so why add to the casualties?”

”You’re dreaming! Letting you take my people away, how could I be fit to be the king of Zou!”

With the copper hammer in hand, Hichugiskhan seized the opportunity to throw it, but it merely stirred a cloud around the opponent’s body without any effect, though his actual target was the Store-Store Fruit User.

The other ability user was too suppressive to the Fur Tribe’s abilities. The Fur Tribe’s power generation cost physical energy, whereas he could convert absorbed energy into his strength, tipping the battle in his favor over time.

Thus, Hichugiskhan aimed the hammer at him from the start. The watermelon-sized solid copper hammer, carrying Hichugiskhan’s power, smashed towards the back of his head. A Tekkai-specialized agent naturally lacked Observation Haki, and the hammer solidly hit his skull.

Though not knocked down during the Tekkai state, significant gaps appeared, providing an opportunity for the Fur Tribe to surround him.

”Thinking of others in this state? What will you do without weapons?”

”The Fur Tribe’s greatest weapon isn’t those external objects but our own bodies. Thunder Ram Horn Strike!”

Hichugiskhan slightly bent his upper body, aiming his sharp horns at the World Government captain. His body surged with electricity, resembling an enraged thunderbeast.

The electric current stimulated his muscles, increasing Hichugiskhan’s reaction speed by more than a notch. Although the opponent had Observation Haki, not everyone could foresee the future like Katakuri.

Without future sight, any evasion with Observation Haki relied on the body’s reaction speed. When Hichugiskhan’s attack speed surpassed the opponent’s reaction speed, he could hit the opponent’s body.

His horns clad with Haki struck the opponent’s chest, releasing an even fiercer surge of electricity from within, adding a greenish glow to the night in Zou.

However, Hichugiskhan’s attack failed to achieve the desired effect, as clouds fountained out from the opponent, occupying a small part of the sky overhead, and seemed to absorb the electricity.

”Since you like using electricity so much, how about tasting it yourself! Thundurus!”

After Hichugiskhan’s electricity was absorbed, the complex reactions began within the clouds, gradually darkening their color, visible lightning leaped inside.

This is why he was chosen as the leader, both he and the other ability user had special means to deal with electricity.

However, the range of this Thunder Cloud was quite small, existing only above Hichugiskhan and the other ability user.

He was a Cloud-Cloud Fruit User, capable of creating a thundercloud, but the range of the lightning attack was beyond his control, only performing indiscriminate attacks.

Currently, the Fur Tribe and CP agents were mixed in battle, leaving him unable to expand the thundercloud recklessly, limited to using the ability within a certain range...
