Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 277: Chapter 276: What It’s Like to Meet the Parents

”Your name is Zeraora?” Although Zeraora hadn’t introduced himself, Setsuna’s earlier shout had made Zeraora’s name known to those nearby.

”Um.. Hello, Auntie.”

”My name is Ling, I’m Setsuna’s mother. Come with me first; those two might take a while.”

By this time, Setsuna had already run to the other side, while Hatch was still chasing closely behind, panting with his tongue out, but not giving up.

”But this big bird of yours... is it obedient?”

The Thousand-Year Dragon still looked like an ancient bird. There were many special animals on Zou, and she was just worried that the Thousand-Year Dragon might cause trouble.

”Don’t worry, it can understand what I mean.” He wasn’t Elizabeth, but since the Thousand-Year Dragon’s leader had a Pokemon’s modified form, Zeraora could communicate. This is the difference between modified animals and humans.

Animals in Pokemon forms can communicate with any Pokemon, while human Pokemon Ability Users can only communicate with the same type of Pokemon. For instance, Mandfeish can only understand Magikarp.

Gyarados can understand too, but they won’t communicate with him unless it’s a Gyarados that evolved from a Magikarp directly modified by Arceus; they pay attention to such matters.

Under Zeraora’s direction, the Thousand-Year Dragon’s leader followed him towards their home.

”Setsuna probably gave you some trouble over the years? That kid has been a handful since she was little.”

”No, she’s been living and working very hard out there.”

”Really? How did you two meet and get to know each other?”

”Well... I was born in the open sea, and my parents have been gone for a long time. I met her on our ship, but I’ll let her explain the details to you.”

It’s better to let her explain the matter of the organ trade assassination group herself.

The Thousand-Year Dragon landed not far from Setsuna’s home, and it wasn’t long before they arrived at her house, with the commotion mostly attracting attention to the father-daughter chase, temporarily ignoring Zeraora.

”Wait here by yourself for a moment; I need to handle something. I’ll be back soon.”

After leading Zeraora back to her home, Ling poured him a glass of water and left the house, very trusting to leave Zeraora in their home.

There was no currency in Zou. Freshwater came from rainwater or purified seawater from plants, and a large part of the food was delivered by the Elephants. This was almost a utopia of abundance.

Plus, the trust among residents was strong; things like not locking doors at night and not picking up things that don’t belong to you weren’t jokes in Zou.

The interior decor was quite simple but had a warm touch. However, from the photos on the wall, Zeraora noticed something special: besides Setsuna, there seemed to be a fourth person in this family.

.....

After about ten minutes, the door was pushed open again. Closing the door sometimes isn’t for safety but for privacy. This time, the door was pushed open by Setsuna, not Ling.

”Phew, I finally shook off my old man. After all these years, he’s still so vigorous.”

Familiar with her surroundings, Setsuna pulled out a chair and sat down. Everything was in its familiar place, indicating that her home had remained as it was when she left.

”How’s my home? Not bad, huh, though it’s a bit small.”

”It’s nice, but... do you have a sister?”

”Sister? No, why?”

”Look at the photo on the wall.”

Although Zou is relatively isolated, quite a number of Furrace have left Zou. Many things in Zou were brought back by these returning adventurers, like cameras and looms, or some clothes from outside, which are ways they supplement their materials.

And in the photos on the wall, besides Hatch, Ling, and Setsuna, there was also a yellow-haired Furrace girl.

Setsuna had inherited Ling’s race and part of Hatch’s fur color, while the girl was just the opposite.

At this moment, a strong male voice came from outside. Hatch, who Setsuna had dragged around, had just returned, panting and watching her.

Not to mention anything else, but just the speed at which Setsuna ran home proved she hadn’t wasted these years. Although he never left Zou, he was a member of the Firearms Team, and part of the Fur Race’s elite warriors, yet he couldn’t catch up with her.

”Ha... I knew you’d run back home.”

Leaning on the door frame, Hatch took a moment to catch his breath.

Setsuna knew she’d be stopped when she got home, but there was no choice. She couldn’t keep running forever.

Plus, chasing her around the area exhausted most of Hatch’s energy. He temporarily lost the interest to hit her, only placing a hand on her head.

”Don’t leave without a word again. Do you know how worried your mother and I were back then?”

”Okay. But Dad, can you tell me who this is?”

”She’s your sister, her name is Wanda, she’s six years old now.”

Ling, who had left the house earlier, returned, explaining Setsuna’s question.

She had just left to find Wanda. The Fur Race didn’t have schools or anything like that; unless one was studying under the Moon Lion, most of the time was spent free-ranging, giving youths the chance to leave Zou.

This is another of Zou’s unspoken rules: the king of Zou has no hereditary system. The reigning king can appoint a successor, and those with objections can choose to challenge that person.

As long as they defeat the opponent and gain the residents of Zou’s recognition, they can become Zou’s new Duke. Compared to training solely in Zou, those who venture out to sea often become stronger.

Hichugiskhan also left Zou when he was young, but he left as an adult with some companions. Cases like Setsuna’s, where one ventures out without adult Furrace and leaves Zou, are rare.

This is also why Hatch and Ling were concerned about her but managed to have another child without going out to search, as growing up like this is also a path in Zou.

So their departure caused quite a stir but had no subsequent repercussions.

”Sister... Sister?”

Wanda was standing behind Ling, appearing somewhat timid about the two strangers in the house.

”Don’t be afraid, Wanda. That’s your sister; you’ve seen her in the photos.”

Although they had never met before, they shared the same blood and quickly got to know each other.

”Alright, Setsuna, you should take your sister back to your room. It’s just next to your old room so you two can get to know each other. We have some questions for Mr. Zeraora here.”

Setsuna’s family environment was clearly different from Yamato’s. Facing Hatch, she would choose to run, but under Ling’s intimidating gaze, she could only obediently return to her room.

The next step was a three-person inquiry. After all, their daughter had been gone for nine years and came back with a man. It’s impossible for them not to have some thoughts about it.
