Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 283: Chapter 282: I’ve Never Fought Such a Wealthy Battle

As time brewed, the thunder and lightning in the clouds began to fall onto the land of Zou, causing significant trouble for the Fur Race within this limited area.

Especially for Hatch and others who were besieging the Store-Store Fruit User. Initially, Hichugiskhan’s hammer gave them a considerable advantage, but the change in weather once again altered the battle situation.

The Fur Race could use lightning, but they were not immune to it. However, the lightning didn’t matter to the Store-Store Fruit User, as he could directly store it and convert it into his power.

Watching the changes in the man’s body, Zeraora suddenly had a bad premonition. He didn’t have Future Sight, but this was a battle instinct developed over several years.

Hichugiskhan didn’t originally intend to let him, as a guest, intervene. Out of respect for the locals, he didn’t take action, only helping wake the slumbering Fur Race by holding Salt and using its traits to wake the sleeping ones.

However, this was also a drain on Salt’s stamina. Depending on the situation, traits can also consume energy. Traits like the weakness of the Ancestor Bird naturally don’t consume stamina, but Salt’s sweetness is different.

It is not a Radiation Stone that can work just by standing there.

Some traits act on oneself, some on the environment, others on individual beings. Salt belongs to the latter; it uses its power to prevent its allies from falling asleep.

Though the consumption is minimal, it still depletes energy; otherwise, it wouldn’t differentiate between friend and foe.

Usually, it can use this trait on a single-digit number of Pokemon, but as the count increased, it could do nothing more, awakening a few individuals in each area to help them and the Knights count and organize the numbers.

”Salt, you go back to find Setsuna first, and stay safe.”

”Na na!”

...

Under the barrage of natural lightning, the Energy Bar on the chest of the Store-Store Fruit User gradually filled up, and a dangerous smile appeared at the corners of his mouth, his body resembling a battery at this moment.

In addition to storing electricity and converting it into body energy, he could also discharge.

With the indiscriminate attack of the thunderclouds, his energy was almost full, while Hatch and the Fur Race suffered significant injuries due to the effect of the thunderclouds.

”The head’s mission is to capture alive, but with so many of you, it doesn’t matter if a few die.”

Lightning danced in his palm without making a sound like ordinary thunder, but compressed lightning became more dangerous.

”Store·Thunder Pressure Cannon.”

His thick arm turned into a barrel at this moment, releasing the stored lightning. The dazzling electric light almost blinded people, but in the distance, a yellow electric streak rushed over even faster.

Hatch felt a sudden force from his side, pushing him away. In his sprint, this push made him lose balance, rolling on the ground like a spinning gourd before stopping after several tumbles.

When he got back up and looked at the impact of the Thunder Pressure Cannon, he felt a chill in his heart, but he noticed something was off. He was pushed to evade the attack, and the one who pushed him...

Turning his head, Hatch faintly discerned the silhouette of his future son-in-law Zeraora amidst the electric light.

At that moment, numerous images flashed through his mind, including Setsuna’s sorrowful ones and scenes of Zeraora’s miserable state after being attacked. His eyes were almost bloodshot.

”You bastard, what have you done!”

A row of sharp teeth nearly bit to pieces, but the next moment he realized his emotions were misplaced, as Zeraora’s calm voice emerged from the lightning.

”Don’t worry, uncle, this stuff is just an appetizer for me.”

Not only was Zeraora unscathed amidst the lightning, but he was also absorbing the discharged electricity. He could absorb electric energy and release it, and his attack was purely electric, making electric attacks ineffective against him.

His characteristic is battery – not only does it immunize him from electric attacks, but it also lets him recover energy via electricity. The battery trait can only immunize against electric attacks, neither guiding nor attracting it.

But Zeraora was different. Without his own power generation, he needed to store electricity from outside, and his fur had the ability to attract currents.

This ability, combined with the battery trait, gave Zeraora more ways to handle electricity.

”Mere beast, talking big words!”

The noise of electric currents was loud, so Zeraora had to shout for Hatch to hear him, which also allowed the enemy to overhear.

Most World Government members adhered to a theory: human supremacy.

Apart from ordinary humans, whether it’s the Long-armed Race, Long-legged Race, Three-Eyed Race, or Snake-headed Race with different structures, or Giant and Dwarves Races with huge size differences, or Merfolk and Fishmen, Fur Races with animal traits.

Even if the World Government officially defined them as humans, they were still regarded as subhuman or animals. The fact that these beasts didn’t flee but counterattacked in his onslaught was displeasing.

With both hands clasped together, a larger current was discharged from his body.

Feeling the powerful external current, Zeraora wasn’t the least bit angry, instead delighted.

His endurance time was long, but he always needed charging. So, during battle, he used his electricity sparingly, but it now entered a consumption-free mode, with the opponent’s attack continuously charging him.

Simply put, he had never fought such an affluent battle before.

Once his opponent employed both hands, the released current surged, rapidly reducing his Energy Bar to the naked eye, but his attack seemed weaker.

Once Zeraora expanded his absorption capacity, the discharge frequency couldn’t match his absorption speed, and a sudden lightning column shot skyward, turning the originally blue-white electricity completely yellow.

”Thanks for the meal, now let me entertain you.”

The rampaging electricity had him enter a Wild Charge state, his sharp claws extruding, becoming even sharper as they clashed together. Under Wild Charge, Zeraora shot out, thrusting his claws toward the chest of the enemy.

And the Tekkai that had kept him alive in group battles became the final death knell...
