Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 690: Verbal Debriefing to Academy Head Mei

Eventually... the crowds obscuring the sky above the Sixth Sanctuary dispersed.

After the Totem within my Domain finally ”quieted down,” I was safely escorted back by the Witches.

Including Yi Rui and her group, they also left with us.

After all, with us making such a big fuss there, it wouldn’t be right for Yi Rui’s group to remain.

More importantly, they had personally witnessed the unprovoked actions of so many mentors from other Transcendent Academies against the Witch Academy.

They didn’t know if they would become targets for the other side to pick a fight with, so for safety, they chose to leave first.

Although all those who arrived were powerless avatars of Transcendent Mentors, and a large-scale Transcendent brawl did not ultimately break out, the events that transpired at the Sixth Sanctuary today were bound to cause an uproar.

Ordinary students would not know why this matter unfolded as it did.

At least for now, they were not qualified to touch upon that answer.

And looking back at those Transcendent Mentors.

Although they ultimately said nothing in the face of the Witch Academy’s strong stance, it was impossible that the mentors of the other Transcendent Academies were all lacking in vision.

Some people also recognized what that thing truly was.

The Totem.

Precisely because they recognized it as a Totem, it caused them such a headache.

Transcendent beings who had studied or understood the Totem naturally knew how difficult the Totem was to master, or rather, it wasn’t a question of whether it could be learned at all.

Now, a student suddenly emerged who had mastered this power, and its genesis alone was enough to tear open Spatial Rifts!

They simply dared not imagine the source of this power.

A Spatial Rift... the Grand Spellbooks, shaped with [Transcendent Knowledge], could only barely open this thing.

Yet, this Totem could tear open fine Spatial Rifts just by manifesting its posture...

This meant that the future development potential of that power would likely be no weaker than that of a Grand Spellbook.

But as for any countermeasures, they couldn’t seize it, and they couldn’t kill the person... they weren’t confident in killing the other party while facing off against that group of Witches.

It was truly a headache.

The other party was already a Lesser Witch with two Grand Spellbooks and a Domain.

Future advancement to Transcendent would inevitably lead to the Saint Stage.

What did this represent?

It meant that once the other party advanced, their combat power would be much stronger than that of a typical Transcendent!

And now the other party had also mastered a Totem.

They looked upon this talent with envy!

They wished they could kill her and be done with it.

***

And I, at this moment, was escorted back to the safest Witch Academy by a group of Witch Sisters.

Yi Rui and her group also took this opportunity to return to the academy, as they had been away for some time.

Upon returning to the Witch Academy, the avatar of Big Sis Bai accompanying me dissipated, and the real Big Sis Bai was there to welcome my arrival.

The avatars of the other Witch Sisters returned to the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree laboratory.

After all, once their role in showing support was complete, they naturally had to return to their normal duties.

Although I had returned, I needed to provide an explanation for my actions.

After all, I had nearly incited a Transcendent battle among the various Transcendent Academies.

They couldn’t just let me off easily, could they?

So... I immediately received a call from Academy Head Mei and was summoned to her office.

However, Big Sis Mei only summoned me, the ”chief culprit.”

Yi Rui and her group were not implicated.

“Little Han, what should I say about you? What did you get up to in the Expansion Realm this time? Tell me.”

Academy Head Mei’s avatar looked at me helplessly, but ultimately asked me to explain the situation first.

“Uh... Big Sis Mei, aren’t you angry with me?”

“Angry with you for what? Witches never get angry at Witches who can cause a huge commotion, aside from those who deliberately look for trouble, of course.”

“Alright...”

I glanced sideways at Big Sis Bai, who was accompanying me.

After receiving her confirmation, I finally calmed the slightest bit of anxiety I had.

“The commotion this time was mainly caused by the power of the Totem. Although I don’t know if that was the true Totem, it fully aligns with the characteristics of the Totem I currently understand.”

“Totem...”

Mei Linde silently stared at me.

She remembered that Little Han had only recently encountered the concept of the Totem, hadn’t she?

What kind of development was this... Wishing for something and having it come true?

Was the Totem that easy to master?

“Is it convenient to demonstrate it?”

Academy Head Mei finally managed to squeeze out this sentence.

“Okay.”

I nodded, agreeing to the request.

Then, I struck the starting pose for my Body Cultivation power, and a force erupted from deep within me.

Immediately after, the imprint of the Body Cultivation Totem emerged from within my body.

After I mastered that Totem, I understood that a Totem should be considered a ”derivative” of a certain fundamental power, not an independent existence.

A Totem was not an independent system like a rune, so it couldn’t be learned.

And the Totem I mastered originated initially from both Self-awakened Body Cultivation and Self-generating Magic Power.

Later, I used the power of Self-awakened Body Cultivation to touch it, which ultimately led to the previous ”tragedy.”

And now, the power of this Totem seemed to be ”seamlessly integrated” with my Self-awakened Body Cultivation power.

Yes, the root of the Totem currently displayed originated from Self-awakened Body Cultivation.

Furthermore, I discovered that this Totem might not be complete.

It might be missing the other half, the other half of its genesis—Self-generating Magic Power.

The complete form of the Totem might be the combination of the two.

As for why the Totem could be related to my Domain... this was because the foundation of the Mental Realm Domain was a derivation of Self-awakened Body Cultivation.

“This is... a Body Cultivation Totem?!”

Clearly, Academy Head Mei recognized the power of this Totem.

“Uh... it might be the Self-awakened Body Cultivation Totem. I can feel that the power of this Totem originates from my Self-awakened Body Cultivation...”

I said.

“Alright... it’s all the same. But I’m sorry. I don’t have the experience to teach you this kind of knowledge. The research and exploration regarding the Totem will likely be something you’ll have to slowly unfold yourself.”

Academy Head Mei sighed, seemingly with emotion, or perhaps venting some other feeling.

“Mm. I am mentally prepared for that.”

I nodded, indicating that I accepted this challenge.

After all, Big Sis Mei had told me before that she had researched Totems, but she didn’t specialize in this area.

Perhaps the power of my Body Cultivation Totem was something entirely new to them.

“Since we’ve figured out why this happened, then... tell me the cause. Didn’t you go out to invigilate the college entrance examination a while ago? Returning so quickly only to cause such a big incident in the Expansion Realm... I don’t believe you were contemplating the Totem from the beginning. You must have been involved in something else, right?”

Academy Head Mei asked.

She clearly knew that the Totem was the kind of thing that the more one sought it, the less one would get it.

So, the power of the Totem was most likely a ”by-product” generated while Little Han was doing something else.

She could completely use the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell to get the information, but she didn’t do so.

It was better for Little Han to narrate it personally.

Listening to Little Han’s humble-bragging in front of her for no reason... well, it also helped strengthen her psychological endurance.

“Alright, I guess I can’t hide anything from the Academy Head...”

“Tell me. What genius inspiration prompted you to do this this time?”

Academy Head Mei leaned back in her chair, preparing to enter listening mode.

“This matter... well... it stemmed from the technique for condensing Magic Power Sources that I recently mastered.”

“Oh? Starting to engage with that?”

Academy Head Mei raised her eyebrows and glanced at Big Sis Bai.

Big Sis Bai also nodded, indicating that yes, she was the one who taught me.

“Yes. Because I recently learned that shaping a complete Domain requires one hundred million Magic Power Sources, I planned to learn this technique in advance and slowly accumulate them...”

“The Magic Power Source is not the threshold for continued improvement after advancing to Transcendent. Little Han, you were a bit too hasty this time.”

“Yes. Big Sis Bai told me that too. So, I stopped after only condensing about a handful of Magic Power Sources, because I thought of something else.”

“Mm, continue.”

Hearing my statement, Academy Head Mei also knew the matter was about to enter the absurd stage.

She was even secretly anticipating what kind of inspiration Little Han derived from the Magic Power Source condensation technique that was so illogical.

“Mm... it’s related to the Self-generating Magic Power constitution.”

“The Self-generating Magic Power constitution, oh... and then?”

Academy Head Mei was somewhat surprised to hear that.

This answer was unexpectedly simple.

After all, condensing the Magic Power Source was indeed inseparable from the unique witch talent of Self-generating Magic Power.

“Then I was wondering if the talent of Self-generating Magic Power could be mass-bestowed at the non-Transcendent level, and if there was a technique that could grant this talent to any Prospective Witch.”

“Hmm?!”

At this moment, Mei Linde was glad she wasn’t drinking tea, or she would have sprayed it out!

Little Han was actually thinking of summarizing Self-generating Magic Power into a technique and popularizing it among the Prospective Witch community?

Mei Linde subconsciously wanted to refute but forcibly stopped herself.

Honestly, was this idea terrifying?

Yes, terrifying.

Was it possible to achieve?

Possible.

Because Little Han was the best example!

The successful case she had submitted to the Witch World’s Great Library back then caused an uproar!

The only pity was that Self-awakened Body Cultivation... was truly too rare!

Moreover, the experimental subject wasn’t a Transcendent Witch.

Even if you wanted to capture an experimental subject for testing, the person might not even cooperate.

“How do you plan to do it? You are very clear about how high the threshold for this kind of experiment is.”

Mei Linde’s tone also involuntarily became serious at this moment, entering a state of scholarly discussion.

“One of the thresholds is Self-awakened Body Cultivation.”

I said.

“No, Self-awakened Body Cultivation is not the only threshold. Little Han, the experiment that succeeded on you back then was actually mostly due to coincidence. There are many details in the research process that you might not understand. You don’t understand what concept Self-generating Magic Power truly is...”

“Mm... is that so, Big Sis Mei? I actually have some conjectures about Self-awakened Body Cultivation. Can I ask you about them?”

“Of course.”

“Is the Witch race’s Self-generating Magic Power related to the power of Body Cultivation? And is Witchification a type of passive, Body Cultivation-derived power system of the Witch race?”

“......”

Hearing my two questions, Academy Head Mei fell silent.

After a long silence, she slowly spoke, “Did you realize this yourself, or did someone tell you?”

“Mm... I can feel that the power of Self-awakened Body Cultivation is somewhat related to Self-generating Magic Power, so I deduced that the concept of Witchification is mainly structured on the basis of racial transformation, and... the spontaneous generation of the Self-generating Magic Power bodily talent after advancing to Transcendent. Furthermore, I noticed that Witchification has a power that passively enhances physical constitution, so I guessed it was related to Body Cultivation...”

Of course, the main reason was that the Witchification model was similar to Body Cultivation, both enhancing the life level.

“Honestly, Little Han, aside from some slightly immature expressions in your thoughts, the rest... I can only say that there is no significant error. I am somewhat ashamed to admit that although I understand and am aware of this concept, a senior colleague of mine told me about it, and it’s not something I discovered myself.”

Academy Head Mei sighed, readily admitting her shortcoming.

It seemed that Little Han’s development speed was far faster than she had anticipated, and the only thing limiting her... seemed to be the single threshold of Transcendent.

“Little Han, you said earlier that you wanted to summarize the Self-generating Magic Power bodily talent into a technique that could be granted and popularized. I now somewhat believe that you can achieve it. What is your progress now?”

“Uh... just starting? After all, I can’t bypass the power of Self-awakened Body Cultivation for this technique, so I was researching the power of Self-awakened Body Cultivation, and then... this happened...”

“Just starting, huh... that makes sense. Since you’re back, then focus on your research in the academy. I will apply for an independent laboratory for you. Just tell me what you need.”

Saying this, Academy Head Mei waved her hand and applied for a professional laboratory for me.

Witches encouraged people with ideas and would provide a certain degree of assistance.

Even if the final result was failure, it was merely one failure for the Witches.

What was most feared was the lack of ideas, and the ability and execution to realize those ideas.

At this point, Academy Head Mei’s questioning of me was mostly concluded.

She didn’t need to worry about more detailed specifics; she was very busy, at least at this stage.

Otherwise, the person in the office wouldn’t be an avatar.

But even as an avatar, she needed to handle a large volume of documents in the office.

“Right, Big Sis Mei, can I ask one more question? One last question.”

“You have another question? Go ahead.”

Academy Head Mei picked up a file nearby and spoke.

“Mm... I just want to know, regarding this technique I am currently researching... are there any existing, mature, related techniques within the Witch race?”

“No. At least I haven’t heard of any.”

Academy Head Mei shook her head simply and directly.

“But... Self-generating Magic Power is the most important foundation for several branch projects under the Great Witch Project. With so many Witches in the Witch race... and even the Truth Witches who are dedicated to projects... uh...”

“Little Han, do you have some misunderstanding about the Truth Witches?”

Academy Head Mei raised her head and spoke.

“Hmm? Even Truth Witches can’t do it?”

“I don’t know if they can do it, but given the Witches’ faith in the Truth Witches, I think they could achieve such a thing. However... even the Truth Witches are still Witches. Even with infinite lifespan, their energy is not infinite. They explore the forefront of the Transcendent field, and they are not omniscient and omnipotent gods. If you were to persuade a Truth Witch to research the technique for granting Self-generating Magic Power for a group of Prospective Witches, you might be beaten to death.”

“Uh... that serious?”

“Every Witch has her own path and choices. The mission of the Truth Witches is to continuously pioneer the unknown path ahead, and the mission of us, the later generations, is to continuously refine, broaden, and derive this path. So... Little Han, I have high hopes for you. If you truly achieve this, you might even attract the attention of the Truth Witches.”

Academy Head Mei said, giving me a supportive gesture.

“Uh... thank you for your trust, Big Sis Mei. Then I will leave now.”

I turned to Big Sis Bai, who hadn’t said a word from start to finish, and took her hand, preparing to leave the area.

Now, with this conversation with Academy Head Mei, I could embark on a major endeavor again!

Of course, this conversation, besides being a verbal debriefing, was also a form of clarification.

I had always been hesitant about my idea because I thought the Witch race didn’t lack geniuses, and it was impossible that only I had thought of this.

Academy Head Mei also confirmed that it could be done, for example, by a Truth Witch, but they didn’t have the time to do so.

In that case, I would be the one to fill this void!
