Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 664: The Transformation of Time Sense

“Xiao Han, did something happen to you just now?”

Big Sis Bai asked as soon as I got off the train and walked out of the station.

After all… the situation on the high-speed train was too bizarre.

Xiao Han seemed to be stuck in time.

Her gaze was mostly fixed on her phone screen, but she wasn’t doing anything.

Even when the phone screen died, she still…

“My… my Time Sense went a little out of control…”

I shook my head, still adjusting to the lost time.

I generally chose to be honest with Big Sis Bai, and I had also told her about having the prototype of Time Sense.

“Is it serious?”

Hearing that Time Sense was out of control, Big Sis Bai’s expression became solemn.

Time Sense… that was a perception even she hadn’t mastered yet.

Currently, she had only mastered the Heart Sense and possessed the Mental Realm Domain, but… that Domain was not a prototype…

“Ugh… it’s fine.”

I shook my head and said, “Don’t worry it’s mainly a mindset issue. After going through these things, I also gained some understanding. I can only say it was a blessing in disguise.”

“Alright Then I’ll believe you, okay?”

“Of course, Big Sis Bai, you should believe me.”

I said firmly.

This accident indeed brought me great gain, but not the gain of the Time Sense being perfected into two-way control as the Shadow of Knowledge described.

Before, I lacked time greatly.

The Time Sense bought me time, so my perception of time stretched very long.

But I could only ”slow down time” to utilize the Time Sense.

I thought that this was the reason why the Time Sense was still only a ”prototype.”

And now, I managed to compress time, achieving ”time-lapse.”

Regardless of the price paid for doing so, at least I knew its effect.

But the Time Sense was still a ”prototype.”

Even mastering the two-way adjustment of time could not break free from the prototype’s foundation, meaning the completion of the Time Sense must be on a higher level.

My gain this time was not the experience and ability to reverse-regulate the Time Sense, but understanding one thing.

Regardless of what I experienced or what I controlled, my perception was actually rooted in… the ”Heart Sense.”

The Heart Sense originated from the sixth sense above the five senses, representing perception and understanding.

The five senses, plus the Heart Sense, relied entirely on the Heart Sense for understanding the non-intuitive information perceived.

Including… the perception of time.

Because the time variation I experienced was not an objective time variation, but my subjective slowing down.

The Heart Sense served as the most important understanding hub.

Only by understanding time could I perceive time.

Understanding was the most crucial aspect of the Heart Sense, so the Heart Sense had no stages of division, meaning no prototype.

Then what about Time Sense?

Since the Heart Sense was responsible for perceiving the slow and fast of time, what exactly was Time Sense?

The answer, actually, I had guessed very early on: it was ”control,” or rather, ”manipulation.”

Time Sense was simply the most standard way of manipulating perception, and it was most prominently manifested in the perception of time.

Only absolute control, the adjustment of perception, counted as the perfect mastery of Time Sense.

And… Time Sense could also be compatible with the five senses’ perception, just like the Heart Sense.

This meant that the Time Sense’s ability to manipulate the perception of time could also be applied to manipulating the perception of the five senses.

A basic example application.

The Time Sense could weaken the special feedback in the sense of touch, ”pain sensation,” or stretch the pain sensation.

It could also selectively shield the noise of hearing, which was much more convenient than the Soundproof Spell.

The sense of smell could also be controlled not to perceive foul odors, or even modify a foul odor into a fragrance?

Thinking about it this way, the capability of the Time Sense was terrifying, and the control ability derived from it was even more frightening!

At this moment, I understood why self-awakened Body Cultivation was an excellent talent for Body Cultivators.

Absolute control and dominance over the body achieved a dual level of control over both the physique and perception!

Or rather, the ability mastered by self-awakened Body Cultivation was a Revelation for the senses above the five senses.

At this moment, I felt that I had grown, yet it was as if nothing had changed, like something was missing.

Even though I understood what Time Sense represented, it was still a prototype.

I hoped no more accidents would occur…

Following Big Sis Bai out of the station, we chose to take a car again.

As the scenery outside the window gradually became familiar, and the streets became filled with memories…

After a sudden brake by the driver, Big Sis Bai led me to the starting point of my fate’s turning point.

“Xiao Han, let’s go…”

Big Sis Bai pulled me towards the cluster of houses not far away.

The houses here were in the style of detached homes.

In fact, most people who could live here had a decent amount of assets.

But I didn’t want to discuss why the world’s development had turned out this way right now.

“Xiao Han This is our destination.”

Big Sis Bai saw my direct intention to walk over and pulled me back, pointing to a house beside me.

This house was… Big Sis Bai’s former residence.

Right… Big Sis Bai’s former residence was just next door, wasn’t it?

Returning here again, Big Sis Bai opened the long-sealed door.

With a Cleaning Spell, she instantly swept away all the dust.

The internal space of the house wasn’t very large.

Looking at the familiar layout, I even felt a touch of warmth.

Even though I had almost taken everything when I left, seeing the sofa in the living room and those familiar decorations… made me recall some memories involuntarily.

This was the harbor where I temporarily stayed to escape reality…

Big Sis Bai immediately lay down on the sofa at this moment, her expression becoming languid.

“Xiao Han, do you remember this place? You were just like this then, telling me you applied to the Witch Academy.”

“Mm, I remember…”

I nodded and sat in the spot I frequently sat, looking at my distance from Big Sis Bai.

I seemed to be able to feel the distance that was unintentionally created between Big Sis Bai and me back then, limited by the gender differences.

“So, Xiao Han, do you have a plan in mind? How do you want to bid farewell to your past regret by coming back here?”

“No… I haven’t decided…”

I shook my head, indicating I hadn’t thought about it.

I had no plan whatsoever.

I just… came over directly.

I thought I would cross the bridge when I came to it, but it seemed I still had to figure out a way myself.

They say that besides experience, only death remains in life.

I had experienced too much on this journey, but I realized that besides magnifying my inner emotions, I hadn’t done anything.

“It’s okay. I’ll think with you.”

Big Sis Bai also got up and sat next to me.

Perhaps she also noticed that the distance between us was just right for the former us, but it felt a little distant for us now.

“Mm.”

“Since we are already back, how about… you follow your inner wish and go back to your former home to take a look? How does that sound?”

“Go directly?!”

“What? Wasn’t that your intention when you first got off the train? Besides… I can sense that no one is at that house now.”

“No one…”

I fell silent for a moment, and quickly figured it out.

They should be at work at this time.

My cheap younger brother was about to face the College Entrance Examination, so he should be at school now.

I wasn’t sure if he was boarding or commuting.

But I strongly suspected he was boarding.

Commuting was too exhausting.

However… I remembered that ”mother” of mine was pregnant, right?

It seemed… nearly a year had passed now.

I wonder if she had given birth to yet another cheap brother or a sister for me.

But shouldn’t there still be a recovery period after giving birth?

“Okay.”

I nodded, agreeing to the idea.

……

“Is this your former home, Xiao Han?”

Big Sis Bai led me into the house.

The area was not very large, but the internal layout clashed strongly with my former memory.

“Are they still believers of the Holy Light Church?”

Big Sis Bai walked to the side and picked up a Holy Light Prayer on a countertop.

This was an item typically found in the Holy Light Church, and there were many different versions, but these were all books used to praise and sing the Holy Light and faith, and they carried strong suggestive indoctrination.

“No, they are not believers; they are gamblers.”

I shook my head and picked up a Holy Light Cross Pendant from the side.

The golden metal ornament had no function, and I only sensed a faint trace of Light Element Energy residual.

This wasn’t even a Holy Light attribute.

Light and Holy Light were two different concepts.

Pure Light Element Energy was no different from the light of an electric bulb, used for illumination, while Holy Light carried a sacred attribute, with a natural ability to dispel things like curses and evil.

“Then why are there so many items from the Holy Light Church in this house? And it even looks like they were trying to imitate the dressing style of an Ascetic family, but it appears very crude, even somewhat like a hybrid.”

Big Sis Bai asked, puzzled.

She had never been to this house before, not once.

Even when Big Sis Bai sent me back or tried to persuade me countless times, they never even invited Big Sis Bai home for a cup of tea to thank her…

“Perhaps they converted to the Holy Light faith midway?”

I shook my head, still unable to imagine them as believers of the Holy Light.

“Wait a minute… is this really the place where they lived?”

I suddenly thought of this question while playing with the poor-quality cross.

But only after using the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell to check did I relax.

They had always lived here.

I hadn’t come to the wrong place.

“So, no mistake, right?”

Big Sis Bai saw my look and also used the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell to retrieve the past she had never known.

“Mm… so it’s very strange.”

I looked at the cross pendant in my hand.

The information retrieved by the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell, and even images, were displayed on the side.

This cross pendant was obtained by them from the Holy Light Church, and they spent quite a bit of money buying it.

Holy Light Church… a faith that permeated the entire world.

Although this was not the area radiated by the Holy Angel Academy, it did not prevent people from establishing churches here.

After all, the Academy would not interfere with matters outside the Transcendent Academies, so the establishment of a church here was likely the result of negotiations with the Families.

Moreover, the church was not presided over by the Preaching Angels of the Holy Angel Academy.

After all, the Holy Angel Academy did not have so many Preaching Angels spread across the entire world.

Only the cathedrals in the territory radiated by the Holy Angel Academy had genuine Preaching Angels.

Such orthodox Preaching Angels were equivalent to the Teaching Assistant level of the Witch Academy.

The churches outside were mostly staffed by enrolled students who mastered some Divine Arts, showing miracles using Transcendent means, and so on.

Otherwise, it would be hard to explain why the pendant in my hand once had traces of Light Element Energy.

“Xiao Han, so what do you plan to do next?”

Big Sis Bai put down the Holy Light Hymn, and straightened it.

The fact that this item used for prayer could be placed crookedly was enough to show the holder’s lack of piety.

“I want to understand why…”

I said.

Mainly, I wanted to understand how they managed to overcome the difficulties after the phone call I received due to the Curtain Wall damage when I first came to the Witch Academy.

The Imp Academy recruitment personnel had come knocking back then.

Given the nature of the Imp Academy, if I left, would they capture Yang Yunhan to make up the numbers?

I didn’t know, but the Earth Vein would provide the answer.

This time, I used the Great Tree of Knowledge, anchoring the entire house, to perform a large-scale Earth Vein Information retrieval.

I really wanted to know what happened after that.

This process lasted for a long time.

After all, this was nearly a year’s worth of information.

Excluding most of the meaningless data, only special events were enough for me to know what happened.

Finally, I anchored this information, transferring the focus from the house to the Holy Light Church items within the house.

And as I traced forward along the timeline, my vision inexplicably began to ”flicker.”

Several phantom figures moved rapidly at a speed too fast for the naked eye!

Even the light outside the window began to flicker between bright and dim…

“What is this…”

I looked at everything in front of me in disbelief.

Was I reversing time?!

How was this possible!

“Why is it impossible? Isn’t it happening?”

At this moment, the Shadow of Knowledge appeared again when I needed it most.

“Happening… but how is this possible? I can’t have this kind of ability…”

“Isn’t this the Time Sense?”

The Shadow of Knowledge prompted again.

“Time Sense… how can it be Time Sense… Time Sense cannot reverse objective time!”

“What if everything you are seeing is an illusion created by the cooperation of the Earth Vein Information and the Time Sense? The Earth Vein Appraisal Spell is an ability under the Great Tree of Knowledge system. Its ability to process information far exceeds you, the controller. The Earth Vein Appraisal Spell only displays understandable information translated into what you see, but the vast majority of the information in the Earth Vein is an existence that normal cognition cannot understand.”

“Illusion? Earth Vein Appraisal Spell… Time Sense… it can be used this way?”

I asked in shock.

“Your Time Sense, after you truly realized the function of control, has been continuously transforming. The control it generates transcends the Great Tree of Knowledge. Therefore, even the Great Tree of Knowledge must serve it. Don’t forget that your Heart Sense Domain Prototype is also combined with the two Grand Spellbooks.”

“The current situation is that your own control is far insufficient for the ability expressed by the power you possess. Therefore, you unintentionally exhibit an ability that transcends control, and to a certain extent, it violates your conscious intention, being much closer to the intuition of the subconscious.”

“So…”

For a short time, I couldn’t quite grasp it, but the event was already happening.

I constantly urged myself to remain calm.

“Don’t ’so’ it. You should be focused on the past. This is a rare opportunity to experience it, and it can help you more directly see the details you never noticed before. Do you trust me? Trust me and listen to me.”

“Of course… how could I not trust my own intuition and subconscious…”

I looked at the Shadow of Knowledge, a flicker of complexity in my eyes, and finally couldn’t help but say, “Thank you.”

“Thank me for what? The day you sincerely say thank you to yourself, that will be your true growth.”
