Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 673: The Possibility of Usurping a Player’s Power

Leaving that house and returning to Big Sis Bai’s home was only a matter of a few steps.

Even I had not expected the matter to be resolved so easily.

Of course, this was also my first time experiencing just how terrifying the status and significance represented by the title of Teaching Assistant were.

At least in the Outer World, it was absolutely an existence that transcended everyone else.

I believe it won’t be long before the matter I handled today might spread.

After all, since the upper echelon of the Security Bureau personnel were all academy personnel, the alumni relationship between them naturally formed a network of connections.

In the Outer World, the stability of a person’s status largely depended on their connections and relationships.

Therefore, when something involving a Teaching Assistant happened in the Outer World, they would definitely try every means to verify it.

However, I didn’t care about others knowing this, nor was I afraid of anyone using this matter to scheme against me, even if it was a sneak attack or a conspiracy.

After all, I also learned from Fu Xinglan and the others that the Players were targeting me.

They could throw any plan they had... I was also eager to know what my weakness truly was.

“Alright, the show is over. Do you have anything you want to say?”

I released the Player I had captured onto the ground and lifted the annotated seal from her mouth.

“Calamity Witch... I didn’t expect someone as powerful as you to also have such a terrible childhood?”

After adapting to speaking, this Player maintained a very calm mindset, still gossiping about the matter that just occurred.

“Yes, it’s something I couldn’t control. My original birth family wouldn’t change just because I disliked them; they would only change with my growing power. From your tone, is your life also a mess?”

I sat on the sofa, crossed my legs, and asked the Player.

“You want to know? Then can you release me? I’ve been in this state for a long time; it’s very troublesome, and I don’t think I can slip away from you.”

The Player inquired, bargaining.

“Let me sit comfortably, and I’d be happy to share my story with you. How about it? You must be very interested too.”

“Hmm... alright.”

I sized up the Player, seemingly contemplating something, and finally nodded in agreement.

“Then please release me. You don’t know, it gets very boring when sensory shielding is maintained for a long time.”

“Is that so?”

I simultaneously attempted some things while unsealing the annotation for her.

Big Sis Bai watched leisurely from the side.

She didn’t mind me doing this, as long as she was there, no accidents would happen.

Of course, what I meant by ”attempting” was not helping her unseal the annotation, but trying out some things, some matters that were beyond my previous cognition.

The mastery of my Mimetic Soul Technique and the Reincarnation Spell made me curious about the Player’s ”life posture.”

Coupled with the concept of Destiny Alchemist and the Destiny Alchemy they wielded, these matters made me realize one truth.

That was that Destiny was also a resource that could be utilized.

Was the Player’s means of descent not a technique for utilizing Destiny?

So, I was contemplating another possibility... Could a Player be made into an avatar for me?

I didn’t know.

But I was trying.

One thing was certain: if a Player died, I could rely on their ”corpse” to create one of my avatars using the Reincarnation Spell and the Mimetic Soul Technique, but such an avatar would be meaningless.

This avatar would be no ”different” or ”changed” from the avatars I created before; one more or one less made no difference.

So, I was searching for a meaningful method and trying to usurp their Player Game Qualification.

Since a Player could not be truly trapped, sealed, or killed, doing so also came with a price.

That was that the ”character” a Player controlled was not the real them.

Since they placed themselves out of harm’s way for their own safety, this was the room for maneuver I had.

I did not believe that the game world evenly distributed the power of [Transcendent Knowledge] to every person.

So, I judged that the Player only had the right to use this power, not the right to dominate it.

Since it was a power of ”temporary attribution permission” distributed by the main entity, it could inevitably be stripped away.

“Now you can move around a bit, and tell me your story, by the way.”

I said with a laugh.

Although I said that, I was doing something else internally, which was perceiving the other party’s emotions through Heart Sense.

Theoretically, once a person became a Player, the person was already dead, or rather, their consciousness was dead, with fragmented Soul-substance remaining in the body for the Player to take over the body.

Such a person could not be perceived by Heart Sense, so a Body Cultivation powerhouse, even if they couldn’t see the Destiny threads, could still feel that something was wrong with the Player using Heart Sense.

This feeling was like communicating with a corpse, yet the other party’s every emotion and limb expression was very natural.

But this also meant that I could completely shape a Mimetic Soul to dominate this body without using additional casting materials, just by using the Mimetic Soul Technique directly on the Player in front of me.

After all, she had ”unclaimed” Soul-substance within her body, which allowed me to compete with her for control of the body.

“Hey, did you really remove the seals completely? Why can’t I move my legs?”

“Is that so? I’m truly sorry. I was in too much of a hurry then, afraid you might have some means to run away too fast, so the seal might not have been fully removed.”

I snapped my fingers again, removing the annotated seal on her legs.

“How is it? Are there any other abnormalities?”

“Hmm... there seems to be no problem.”

The female Player moved her body, and then sat down casually, as if she felt very tired.

“Then... begin your performance. Please tell your story.”

I raised an imperceptible smile at the corner of my mouth and gestured for her to begin.

It seemed that the other party had not detected the anomaly of the Soul-substance within her body, but this was also where I found it strange.

The technique the other party used to control the body as a Player relied on Destiny as a ”medium,” but when it came to the actual bodily movements, it should be the Soul-substance.

Just as I was listening to the other party’s narration, her words suddenly became mumbled, and then her entire body slumped down.

“What’s going on?”

I immediately stood up, pretending to be panicked.

But my heart was laughing.

Verification correct!

“Wait, Big Sis Bai, don’t come over yet.”

I turned my head to Big Sis Bai, stopping her from moving forward, and at this moment, I informed Big Sis Bai through the Great Knowledge Sharing Technique that the current situation was caused by me.

“Ah... uh... hmm...”

At this moment, the Player could only make such basic sounds; she couldn’t even express a single complete word.

This was because her body was currently occupied by the Mimetic Soul.

It was just as I expected.

The technique they mastered for dominating Destiny was not the direct reason for driving the Player’s ”character” to act.

This technique of utilizing Destiny affected the Soul-substance!

Then, the Soul-substance took over the body to perform actions.

What I was doing now was utilizing the Mimetic Soul to give up the will to autonomously control the body, attempting to see if it could reconnect with Destiny.

If this succeeded, I could understand through the Mimetic Soul how the technique of controlling Destiny exactly influenced the Soul-substance.

Although I most likely wouldn’t be able to learn this technique, it was important to know one’s enemy and oneself.

This technique was highly likely related to that [Transcendent Knowledge].

It was normal for me not to master it.

This was like saying, ”If you don’t have a diamond drill, don’t take on the porcelain job.”

To give another example, if others didn’t have the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell, they similarly couldn’t master techniques like Mimetic Soul, Soul Description, and so on, unless... they mastered other powers that could substitute for it.

Just as I waited anxiously, the Player was also frantically and randomly operating.

At this moment, her game perspective was constantly reporting errors, and it indicated the loss of body control permission.

“What the hell is this thing... move, damn it! All it does is report errors, damn piece of junk!”

Just as the Player was cursing, her game account also showed reconnecting, and this was the longest ”login” she had ever waited for!

But fortunately... the account successfully logged in again.

“Ah... ah, cough, hmm, alright?”

After a round of sound checks, the Player finally ”re-logged.”

A Player was not incapable of logging off; a permanent log-off referred to account cancellation, and a temporary log-off only meant losing control of the body.

“What exactly happened to you?”

At this moment, I also frowned, taking the lead in blaming her.

“Huh? Didn’t you do this!”

“Me? What are you thinking? I haven’t even pried the information I need from your mouth yet. Would I mess with you?”

My aura was not weak at all at this moment, betting on the fact that this person didn’t know what had truly happened.

The consciousness strength of the other party’s life level was at best that of an ordinary person.

They could only observe changes in intuitive data quantities but could not perceive the specific changes.

“You really didn’t mess with me?”

At this moment, it was the Player who became unconfident.

“Anyway, this must be your fault. Maybe your power just now affected me! I know you have the ability to directly cancel our accounts!”

“Think whatever you want. If you truly think so, then I genuinely have one more means against you Players. I’ll find more Players later and test it out to see what step went wrong...”

“Uh...”

At this moment, my words choked her, and her face became somewhat awkward.

If she truly cooperated with this Calamity Witch to test out some means targeting Players... then she would become a sinner!

“No! It’s my own problem! My side showed an account anomaly. It was an unstable connection just now, and it reconnected!”

“Tsk...”

I also cooperated with a regretful look on my face, but I was ecstatic internally.

This was because just now, while I was waiting for her to recover, I had also completed the Great Knowledge Sharing Technique connection with the Mimetic Soul.

However, just in case, I had given up the right to dominate the Mimetic Soul, only retaining the mutual exchange of knowledge and information.

Under the effect of ”Information Interpretation,” a derivation of the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell, a... ”game panel” was generated in front of me.

It was what the Player saw in her game perspective, but it was limited to viewing; I couldn’t operate it myself.

After clearing up this ”misunderstanding,” this Player told me quite a few things.

But the pity was that I couldn’t perceive whether the other party was lying through Heart Sense.

Simply relying on the tone and manner of speaking for judgment meant that the factors influencing the judgment were simply too numerous.

However... I recorded everything she said.

For example... a concept she mentioned: the Walled City.

She was an ordinary member living in a super-large Walled City.

This Walled City was a product modeled and designed after a military base, with the design philosophy being to maximize the utilization of living space, thereby creating a distinctive residential survival zone.

It was analogous to densely constructed residential areas, but even more exaggerated than that.

The reason for this was... their world had a large population, and the average personal living space was extremely scarce.

This was highly consistent with the current situation of Players harvesting Soul-substance.

More population allowed more people to become Players and harvest more worlds.

“My story is finished. It’s quite cliché, isn’t it?”

“It is indeed cliché.”

I nodded.

I didn’t gain much useful information from this story, only a slight understanding of their world, knowing the living conditions of the lower-class people.

At least I had a general understanding and positioning of their world.

With a rough range, I had a better idea in my heart.

However... this also didn’t exclude the possibility of her lying to me.

After all, I was also lying to her.

Who could guarantee that she wasn’t a cunning fox?

The fact that the game world had not yet launched a full-scale invasion of the Main World suggested that the Players currently remaining were screened.

In terms of quality... at least they were much higher than Players who knew nothing, though still not that much higher.

At least... I hadn’t yet heard of anyone from the Truth Protection Association appearing in the Main World.

So, many things could not be taken lightly.

“Then, it should be my turn to ask you a question, shouldn’t it?”

“What? You ask me? You are my prisoner now. Do you think we are playing an intelligence exchange game?”

I directly retorted in dissatisfaction.

“I don’t care. At worst, I’ll just cancel my account and run away.”

“Hmph Then ask. I will only answer what I deem appropriate to say. Don’t think you can threaten me with logging off. Your only value to me lies in the potential possibility of you disclosing information that interests me. If you are determined not to disclose anything, then I will kill you right now, and I won’t go easy. I’ll warn you again, the initiative is with me.”

I said sternly.

My change to a serious tone now was actually just to give the other party an opportunity to exchange information.

Of course, the main reason was to stall for time.

I was thinking about how to take over, or rather, ”steal,” the game account.

I wanted to be able to take over this account and seize this power even if the other party’s consciousness logged off.

The key point was still on the Destiny thread; as long as it wasn’t broken, it was possible.

The pity was that I didn’t have a good means to interfere with Destiny right now.

Perhaps I could manually interfere with shallow Destiny threads, but this was a completely different concept from using a technique to control the Destiny thread.

The reason I hadn’t given up was that I knew the Players hadn’t mastered this technique either.

They were all beneficiaries and users of this complete technique, so why couldn’t I become a user!

However, after forcefully taking over this account, I still needed to be aware of some potential issues, namely, the other party trying to take it back, or... permanently canceling the account to perish together.

Then all my efforts would be in vain, only adding a little operational experience.

So, now I had to perform my acting again.

After researching a method to forcefully take over this account, I needed her to abandon the idea of competing with me for control and voluntarily destroying the account.

Then... there was only one way to make her do that, and that was to make her ”mistakenly believe” that the account had already been canceled by me.

She had just disclosed information to me that they knew I had the ability to directly destroy their accounts, so... this was a breakthrough.

But the risk was still great, after all, if my account was destroyed, I would also try to log in to see if it was true, so I could completely give up hope.

Therefore, I had to deepen the impression of this ability to destroy their accounts, making her firmly believe it!

In addition, if I took it over, I would also need to change the appearance, to prevent any Player who knew her from noticing any discrepancies.

“Yes, yes, yes. Then it’s my turn to ask you a question. I want to know, are you... a Transcendent Witch, and... is your mentor a Transcendent Witch?”

“Hmm? That’s two questions.”

I said sternly, but my heart became alert.

This question again... The Players were really afraid of Transcendent Witches...

Learning from Fu Xinglan earlier that the Players had the shadow of other Transcendent Academies behind them... could it be...
