Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 660: Wait, You’ve Been Infected with Totemology?!

After leaving Mentor Lina’s office, the preliminary preparations for the proctoring assignment were completed.

I had successfully found trouble for myself, at least that’s how others would see it.

I pulled out a coin.

This was the item that the Destiny Alchemist had refined from my Seed of Destiny.

However, after checking this item with the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell, I found that there wasn’t much information.

Of course, what I cared about was not that the information was ”scarce,” but that there was information about it!

And it was even more detailed than the simple description given to me by Witch Trixie, which indicated one thing: this kind of creation had appeared in the Main World before.

This coin belonged to the prototype of a Destiny Alchemical Item.

The method for refining it required a Child of Destiny to sacrifice one of their Seeds of Destiny, along with all their Destiny, as a prerequisite transmutation ritual.

So, for now, it was only considered an embryo before the final transmutation.

Therefore… Destiny Alchemist Trixie was right.

She could indeed help me completely get rid of the bestowed Seed of Destiny.

Nothing was cleaner than getting rid of it through sacrifice.

I just didn’t know if this had any additional effect on me personally.

Perhaps I could go ask Big Sis Mei about Destiny Alchemists, and, while I was at it, also ask about the Anti-Witch.

Since that one contact, Big Sis Mei had never explained any news about this to me, or rather, she hadn’t brought up the concept of the Anti-Witch, I had only found out myself.

Coincidentally, using these two pretexts, I could also ask if there were any materials on Totemology, because I increasingly felt I had some ideas about totems, and all I lacked was the foundational knowledge to understand it.

With these thoughts in mind, I contacted Academy Head Mei, a long time after the last communication, and simultaneously used the Teleportation Spell to arrive at the Teleportation Landmark not far from her office.

“Hello Big Sis Mei, are you busy now?”

“Xiao Han? Why are you calling me suddenly? But I am quite busy right now. My Main Body isn’t in the Academy, but I’ve left a Clone in my office, and it’s quite free now.”

“Oh, then I’m at your office. I have a few things I’d like to ask you in person.”

“Mm, come on over.”

Mei simply nodded and agreed to my request.

Since I chose to talk in person, there was no need to say too much over the communication.

Moreover, visiting the Academy Head’s office was already familiar territory for me.

However, when I arrived, I found the place to be somewhat more… desolate than the previous times I had visited.

Because there was only Big Sis Mei here.

No, this was just the Clone left behind to manage the Witch Academy!

Normally, there should have been other Witches here in Academy Head Mei’s office.

For instance, the last time I came here regarding the Fool’s Dream matter, there were several Witch Big Sisters present.

But even so, the large Destiny Gazing Technique auxiliary equipment in the office was still running, and it was continuously transmitting various information in real-time through the Great Knowledge Sharing Technique.

It looked like the equipment had been upgraded.

“Xiao Han What brings you to my office this time? Or are you just coming to reminisce? After all, you’ve been in the Expansion Realm for so long.”

Big Sis Mei greeted me first.

It had indeed been a while since I had come over.

“Mm, this time I don’t have too many things to trouble Big Sis Mei with; I just have a few questions I’d like to consult you about.”

“Questions? What kind of problem could possibly stump Xiao Han now?”

Being addressed this way, Academy Head Mei became interested.

“Mm, it’s related to Big Sis Mei. It’s about that time you contacted me proactively.”

“Contacted you proactively… Oh!”

Being reminded, Academy Head Mei quickly recalled the incident.

Looking at her expression… she probably forgot about it because she considered it a small matter?

“Oh, that matter. Is Xiao Han still bothered by it?”

“Mm, I’ve been quite bothered by it. I keep thinking about what happened. I’ve even lost my appetite these past few days…”

“That serious?!”

Academy Head Mei was surprised by my description, although she could tell I was just acting a little ”distressed.”

“Alright, alright… I am indeed to blame for that matter. I originally wasn’t going to tell you about it, but then it got resolved…”

“Is it related to the Anti-Witch?”

I asked directly, laying my cards on the table.

“Anti-Witch? Xiao Han knows about that too?”

“Mm, I’ve inquired about news in that area, but I don’t know much.”

“Well… things have indeed been chaotic in the Main World recently, but it’s not just the Anti-Witch who came.”

“It’s other Transcendent powerhouses… but the target shouldn’t be me, right?”

“I’m afraid the target is indeed you. However, compared to the Main World, you are only a secondary target in their current agenda.”

“Secondary… alright…”

“You sound disappointed?”

Academy Head Mei asked with a slight smile.

“If you truly became the primary target, then you should be having a headache. But you seemed to mention the Anti-Witch just now. What is your understanding of the Anti-Witch concept?”

“Anti-Witch… I heard they are a branch project under the Great Witch Project, the Anti-Witch Project, and there’s a group of Traitors within the Anti-Witch community.”

“You’re quite detailed. I thought you just heard the name Anti-Witch and broadly categorized them as villains. Actually, the Anti-Witch are good Witches; they just have rebellious personalities. Or rather, the Anti-Witch are more like the stereotype of Witches held by all races in the Void.”

“Oh… is that so?”

Hearing Big Sis Mei’s explanation, I gained a deeper understanding of the Anti-Witch group.

I always thought the Anti-Witch group was constantly in conflict with the mainstream group.

I didn’t expect Big Sis Mei to praise this group so much?

Did they even represent the stereotype of Witches in the Void?

“Yes, they are also Witches, aren’t they? Only Witches who abandon the project’s path, violate the Witch bottom line, and betray the Witch’s Contract are called Traitor Anti-Witches. This is fundamentally different from a pure Anti-Witch.”

Big Sis Mei seemed to be explaining the difference between the two very diligently, as if afraid I would confuse them.

“And there is one more thing you need to remember: the Anti-Witch are also the main organization among the Witch Race that hunts Traitor Anti-Witches! They proactively take on the responsibility for the traitors who went astray in their project, personally hunting them to display their honor. Therefore, the Anti-Witch cannot be confused with the Traitor. The threshold for joining the Anti-Witch community is killing a Traitor.”

“Wait… wait a minute. I’m a bit confused… Anti-Witch, isn’t that just a project? Why is killing a Traitor required?”

I asked, somewhat puzzled.

“Yes, the Anti-Witch is indeed just a project. You can embark on this path at any time. But the threshold for joining the Anti-Witch organization is killing a Traitor. Furthermore… a Traitor Anti-Witch doesn’t necessarily become a Traitor only by going astray on the Anti-Witch Project. That’s just one way. Violating the Witch race’s bottom line, such as maliciously killing a fellow Witch, and betraying the Witch’s Contract, are also considered being forced onto the path of the Traitor Anti-Witch.”

“Oh… I understand!”

I quickly nodded, indicating I understood.

The Anti-Witch group was actually not dangerous to me, and even quite safe.

They voluntarily took on an obligation: to hunt the Traitors who went astray in their project!

So, there was no need for me to be afraid of the Anti-Witch group appearing in the Main World.

“Then… Big Sis Mei, was that contact resolved with the help of the Anti-Witch?”

“Indeed, the Anti-Witch did help out a little, so Xiao Han, you can rest assured completely. There will be no Traitor Anti-Witches appearing in the Main World. Of course, if one truly appears and I can’t stop it, I will notify you immediately.”

Academy Head Mei gave me a promise at this moment.

And this was enough to show Academy Head Mei’s confidence in this regard.

However, there was one thing Academy Head Mei hadn’t mentioned: why the Anti-Witch would come here in the first place.

“Then I thank Big Sis Mei first. I feel completely relieved now.”

I said to Big Sis Mei, but… I only said it.

Even without the Traitor Anti-Witch, I might still face Transcendent powerhouses from other Transcendent Academies!

So, I couldn’t relax at all.

However, this topic was relatively finished for now. I had one more thing I wanted to ask.

“By the way, Big Sis Mei Do you know about the concept of the Destiny Alchemist?”

“Destiny Alchemist? Wait a minute… Xiao Han, what have you been doing all this time? Why do I feel like you’re constantly getting involved with some strange things?”

“Uh… what’s wrong with a Destiny Alchemist?”

I tentatively asked.

“Have you met them… or did they actively seek you out? Who was it? Osmond Cumberland? Or… Laurel?”

Academy Head Mei’s expression became somewhat complex at this moment.

It wasn’t overly serious, just a little… helpless?

“Ah? Are there so many Destiny Alchemists in the Witch Academy?”

I asked in shock, but the names Big Sis Mei mentioned… none matched the one I met?

“There are quite a few, but most are amateurs. They are just individuals who are very interested in Destiny, occasionally plucking some Destiny for experiments and so on.”

Academy Head Mei supported her forehead and said.

“Is that so? But the one I met was Big Sis Trixie, Trixie Destiny.”

I said.

And at this moment, I recalled the Destiny Alchemist Big Sis Agnes had described to me… and the image Big Sis Mei painted… why were they completely opposite?

I truly couldn’t distinguish between them anymore!

“Trixie…”

Hearing the name, Big Sis Mei supported her forehead again.

“You didn’t make any strange deals with her, did you?”

“Uh… I think it’s too late. I already did…”

“Is it convenient to tell me?”

Seeing that it was already too late, Big Sis Mei could only sigh.

“Well… she said my Seed of Destiny wasn’t completely crushed. She said the world invested in me, and it had nothing to do with me, and she wanted to help me remove the Seed of Destiny, and so on.”

I answered truthfully.

“Uh… she also said you didn’t know much about Destiny and that cutting the Earth Vein Chains was useless…”

“She said that?”

At this moment, I could feel Big Sis Mei smiling, as if she was laughing out of exasperation.

“The Seed of Destiny wasn’t completely crushed?”

“Uh… more or less?”

“Your Seed of Destiny was already crushed by you. What she showed you was probably just a phantom of the Seed of Destiny? That wasn’t the Seed of Destiny, but a Destiny Qualification, a qualification that allows you to pick it up and become a Child of Destiny at any time. Your cutting of the Earth Vein Chains now is equivalent to severing the opportunity to pick it up autonomously.”

“Uh… was I tricked?”

“Sigh… not exactly tricked. She probably just valued this qualification and wanted to utilize a waste product, so she sought you out. Although I am not a Destiny Alchemist, I have studied some theoretical knowledge. Did she refine your Seed of Destiny into something?”

“Yes… a coin. I found through the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell that this is an embryo of a Destiny Transmutation, with the prerequisite ritual of sacrificing a Seed of Destiny…”

I took out the coin and said.

“Lucky Coin, huh… Just as I thought.”

Big Sis Mei didn’t even take the coin, already knowing what it was.

“Then I…”

“Since it has already become this way, the choice is up to you. She must have told you that this coin is called Destiny’s Choice or something similar, right?”

“Yes…”

“If you don’t regret being unable to become a Child of Destiny again in the future, then it doesn’t matter how you choose. The main thing is… did she take advantage of you without paying?”

“Uh… I guess so… she didn’t give me anything…”

I said hesitantly.

Indeed, my intuition during the conversation didn’t deceive me.

She was a merchant, a sly one!

And one who liked to take things for free!

“Forget it. I’ll find time to help you get some compensation from her. Next time, don’t rashly agree to the requests of Witches you aren’t very familiar with. Be careful not to be sold out and then help them count the money. Although you are a Lesser Witch now, you still need to be cautious.”

“Oh… I understand.”

I nodded repeatedly, just like a child who had just been defrauded and admitted their mistake.

“Good that you understand.”

Big Sis Mei finally seemed relieved.

Then she asked, “Xiao Han, is there anything else? If not, I’d like to chat with you about the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree and the Seed of Knowledge. You seem quite unconcerned about it, but I think it’s necessary to talk to you about it.”

“Oh… that area, huh… But I actually do have one more thing to trouble Big Sis Mei with this visit…”

“It’s fine. Say it. Let’s see what other ridiculous things there are.”

After going through the absurdity of the Anti-Witch and the Destiny Alchemist, Mei Linde was curious to see what other outrageous things could happen.

“Oh, it’s about studying. Recently, I’ve finished some of my research, so I found some materials and handbooks to self-study some Totemology. I’m quite interested in it, but the information on Totemology is simply too scarce. I wanted to ask Big Sis Mei if you have any materials on this?”

“Totemology… Wait a minute, you’ve been infected with Totemology?!”

“Ah? Infected? What a strange description is that?”

I was stunned, looking at Big Sis Mei in surprise.

“Totemology is a path of no return, Xiao Han. You’re so young, why are you interested in Totemology?”

Mei Linde asked, puzzled.

She thought Xiao Han being interested in Runology upon enrollment was already outrageous, but now she was studying Totemology!

This was simply… as bizarre as a kindergarten student liking to read world classics, alright?
