Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 669:

I Am, Of Course, Your Former Good Son

After deciding to talk about the serious business tomorrow, Big Sis Bai and I walked around outside a few more times.

Today, I went to several schools one after another, feeling the tense learning atmosphere of those students, as well as their desperate struggle; these were all challenges launched by ordinary people against destiny.

Under such a challenge, some people would enjoy it, constantly striving for it, and find it sweet as wine.

Some people would feel pressure and constantly calm their emotions.

Some people would feel fear, using numb study to alleviate the fear of reality.

There were also those who gave up, imagining which people on the assembly line in the future would be their brothers.

These were all ordinary, or perhaps it was the self-evolution of the ordinary soul mentioned in the Great Project of the Soul.

And this was also an ambition of a project; the Ordinary Soul Project was a project born from the Soul Project in response to ”Interpretation of Life.”

The broadest definition within life was ordinary, but precisely because ordinary nurtured such vast characteristics, it also nurtured infinite possibilities.

Big Sis Bai also explained to me why the Ordinary Project was the choice for the most people to advance to Transcendent Witch.

Because of its inclusiveness.

A witch’s lifespan was very long; no one decided what they would do for the rest of their lives before becoming a long-lived species.

The projects were the same; even if a long-lived witch wanted to switch projects during such a long life, even though it seemed like starting over, not every witch had the courage to start over.

But the inclusiveness of the Ordinary Project compensated for this problem; the ordinary soul nurtured infinite possibilities, just like the heroes remembered by countless people were once ordinary people who stepped forward.

When a witch who had embarked on the Ordinary Project decided what she was born to live for, the ordinary soul would blossom into the most dazzling flower, guiding the witch onto the most suitable path.

The reason the Ordinary Project was so sought after was not only because of its inclusiveness, but also because the pioneering of many project branches within the witch race was continued from the Ordinary Project.

Because every witch who stepped from the Ordinary Project onto another project did so after experiencing a certain transformation or realization, their steps were even smoother than those witches who were originally on that path!

Of course, the choice of the Ordinary Project also required a little courage; if a witch never had any opportunities in her entire life, or the courage to do something at a critical moment, then that witch would have to waste her life away on the Ordinary Project.

After all, the Ordinary Project was the project with the fewest special characteristics; whether it was researching spells, power, techniques, or cultivation, it was all very ordinary, and the power it bestowed even involved constantly gaining revelations within the ordinary, thereby stimulating new ”unknown” possibilities.

However, the Ordinary Project was also very suitable for those wandering witches spread across the Void; relying on the Ordinary Project, they mixed into the worlds of different races, unnoticed and unobserved, feeling the ordinariness of different races, and perhaps the next moment they might gain some kind of insight.

Although this probability was extremely low, the sheer number of Transcendent Witches spread across the Void was too great!

The Ordinary Project could be said to have fully utilized the value of those ordinary witches within the witch race; at least for the witch race, this was the greatest value brought by the Ordinary Project.

And Big Sis Bai was the most typical Ordinary Witch of this kind.

Before advancing to Transcendent Witch, Big Sis Bai had studied many things, she had studied alchemy, understood potion-making, and even been exposed to formation arts; under my realization, she went on to study runes, and after advancing to Transcendent, she used the foundations of some runes to interact with True Editing.

Big Sis Bai herself had studied how to use spellbooks and also studied Physical Arts, but currently she was slightly more proficient in Physical Arts; this was mainly limited by the fact that within the academy, Big Sis Bai’s use of spells was somewhat inconsistent with her own cognition, leading to a preconceived notion.

The current Big Sis Bai had picked up the cultivation of the spellbook again, and was already trying to completely master the spellbook and transform it into her own ability.

It could be said that Big Sis Bai was now constantly trying various new things she could access.

Moreover, the Ordinary Project did not require Big Sis Bai to constantly research, but only to constantly gain insights.

And all of this was for that sliver of possibility.

”Big Sis Bai... is the Ordinary Project really just a springboard and has no other function?”

Discussing these topics with Big Sis Bai, I benefited greatly, but also had many questions.

”I don’t know. As a branch project under the new type of Great Project of the Soul, no one dared to say they could fully analyze it. Perhaps the Ordinary Project had more magical effects, but it’s estimated that it probably wouldn’t compare to the current pioneering and explanation of the Ordinary Project.”

Big Sis Bai’s words were not conclusive, but she still chose the currently most mainstream explanation.

As Big Sis Bai and I continuously discussed like this, I discovered that the mode of interaction between Big Sis Bai and me might not necessarily be just ordinary eating, shopping, and feeling the ordinary, but could also be mutual assistance teaching and inspiration discussion.

After the discussion on the Ordinary Project yielded no results, we would no longer force the matter in that regard, but switch to other forms.

For example, discussing the transformation of the spellbook into an ability that one absolutely controlled and dominated.

Because of her project, Big Sis Bai constantly encountered new things, and as long as she felt she could proceed, she would continuously try until the limit of her ability.

As for me, it was because of interest; the unknown of the Transcendent made me very interested in many techniques, to see if I could draw inferences from them.

I would talk to Big Sis Bai not only about spellbooks, alchemy, and potion-making.

I even mentioned Totemology, which I recently encountered, to Big Sis Bai.

Actually, these things were also what my avatar did with Big Sis Bai in our spare time when I traveled to the Expansion Realm a while ago.

Sure enough, that mode of the avatar, letting go of everything I was currently busy with and only focusing on the interaction with Big Sis Bai, always managed to find the best way to get along.

As for why I no longer used the avatar to continue that mode of getting along with Big Sis Bai?

Because the avatar was meant to solve problems for me, provide assistance, and share the pressure, not to live for me.

It was that simple.

Time passed quickly.

Especially when doing important things with Big Sis Bai.

A new day.

”Hmm... it’s this time. Wait, Little Han, didn’t you plan to take care of the serious business today?”

While Big Sis Bai and I were discussing how the Fireball Spellbook should undergo derivations outside of its sequence, Big Sis Bai seemed to suddenly remember something and reminded me.

”Huh? It seems so! I almost forgot about this.”

At this moment, I also reacted.

If I had my previous mindset, I might have subconsciously been thinking inwardly about how to prove that I wasn’t afraid to face this matter and provide a self-explanation.

Even though no one would question me on this, at that time, my constrained inner self would subconsciously make things difficult for myself.

As for now... well, it was just because I forgot, no reason.

This was the difference between ”the current me” and ”the past me” from when I arrived.

A metamorphosis in mindset.

”Little Han could forget something like this?”

Big Sis Bai covered her mouth lightly and smiled.

”Well I subconsciously forget things that aren’t too important. Allow me to think about how to meet with them.”

I said.

Then, I took out my original old phone.

Looking at it now, this phone was out of power.

Hmm, this was very normal.

Charging it would be fine.

”Little Han, you don’t intend to just call and notify them, do you?”

”How did you know, Big Sis Bai?”

”Isn’t your stance exactly that meaning?”

”Fine... I really didn’t think of any other way, but I know them... very well.”

I fiddled with the phone to charge it, finally speaking with resignation, ”I can know the format of the words they’ll use to curse me. Even after learning about my current appearance, they will use their universal values to question my gender. I don’t even want to refute them.”

”In that case... to use your words, Little Han, a rare life experience like this can’t be missed, right?”

”Yes, it can’t be missed! Not everyone can have this kind of experience in their lifetime. The guesses I just made are my guesses, not my experience. Life is always full of variables, that’s where the fun is, isn’t it.”

After I finished speaking, I waited for the phone to boot up.

I opened my contact list and found a few contacts inside.

The content in the contact list was very clean, with only contacts I could count on one hand.

After tapping on the first contact in order, the phone dialed a number again after a long time.

As the busy tone rang, the call was connected within a few seconds.

”Hello? Who is this?”

Soon, a low voice came from the other end of the phone.

The tone carried a bit of suppressed impatience, like a powder keg ready to explode; as soon as he heard the voice unique to a sales representative, he would instantly transform into a machine for venting emotions.

This was the emotion and behavioral logic behind the words that I perceived through Heart Sense after hearing the three words spoken by the other party.

”Oh? You don’t recognize me? It looks like you’ve deleted me from your contact list.”

My words made the other party silent for a moment.

He seemed to take the phone away from his ear and look at the screen.

Perhaps what he saw was a number without any note.

Or perhaps a noted name he didn’t pay attention to when answering the call.

”Who are you? Why do you have that little brat’s phone?”

The other party seemed to be silent for a long time before questioning me, as if steeling himself.

”Oh, I am the little brat you spoke of. It’s been almost a year since we last met. I vaguely remember the last time I called, you were yelling at me to go back and obediently enter the Imp Academy. You didn’t forget because of a poor memory, did you?”

After I finished speaking, I subconsciously moved the phone away from my ear, and predictably, my phone emitted a distorted sound that even the phone’s speaker could barely handle.

”I thought that after almost a year of cooling down, they would realize some things, but he seems to have not changed at all.”

I said helplessly, but this was not directed at the phone, but at Big Sis Bai.

”Yes... not at all.”

Big Sis Bai nodded, her gaze fixed on the phone’s other end where curses were still being spewed.

Her originally gentle expression became much colder.

In Bai Yu’s opinion, if the other party were truly Little Han’s biological parents, she might have some reservations, but the truth was... they were not.

And now, as Little Han’s only family, she naturally wouldn’t tolerate the other party insulting Little Han like this.

At this moment, her disregard as a Transcendent Witch for non-Transcendent life was already brewing.

However, out of respect for Little Han, she suppressed her impulsive inner feelings.

No matter what, she would see how Little Han handled it.

Just as Little Han had said, this was also a rare experience in her life.

”Are you done talking?”

I brought the phone closer again, my tone still relaxed, but the opposite side of the phone might not have been.

”No! You little...”

”That’s enough nonsense. Say whatever you have to say in person later. I’ve returned. I hope you’re prepared to greet me.”

After I finished saying this, the other party seemed not to have expected me to say that, and for a moment, there was no movement.

I chuckled softly and hung up the phone.

The matter had mostly been stated; there was no need to waste more call charges on him.

Although this call wouldn’t cost much, the remaining relationship between them and me... was not even comparable to that small amount of call charge.

”Alright, it’s set. Maybe this is what they mean by the cart will find its way to the mountain.”

After hanging up the phone, my gaze naturally focused on Big Sis Bai.

”Then, Little Han, can I go with you?”

”What silly things are you saying? Of course you can go, Big Sis Bai if you can tolerate them spewing trash talk at you.”

I said as a matter of course.

However, with Big Sis Bai asking that, I also recalled that phone call from back then, where he questioned me about whether Big Sis Bai was as important as his family.

Looking back now... it was truly hilarious.

”Of course. After all, I was the one who brought you to the Witch Academy back then, so it counts as seeing things through, right?”

Big Sis Bai smiled, stood up, and accompanied me, leaving this temporary home.

Right after we left, we had actually arrived at the destination within a few steps, since this former house of Big Sis Bai’s was next door to theirs.

”Hmm, it looks like they thought we would only arrive after a while?”

I looked at the tightly closed door.

I had thought he would open the door and come out waiting in his anger, but I didn’t expect him to be sulking at home?

I stepped forward and knocked on the door.

As the banging sound of knocking rang out, the sound of footsteps inside moved from far to near.

”What are you knocking for! You little *brat, you still dare to... You... You! Who are you?”

As the cursing voice accompanied the door opening with a creak, the trash talk that was already poised to become foul language was choked in his throat.

Because after opening the door, he did not see the figure he had anticipated, but two girls.

After a flash of stunning admiration and lust in his eyes, the other party quickly recognized Big Sis Bai’s figure beside me.

”I know you! You’re the one who ran off with my son!”

After recognizing Bai Yu, the anger in his heart burst out instantly!

If it weren’t for this woman, the other party wouldn’t have had the means to escape their control!

With that, he tried to reach out and hit someone, as in his eyes, the other party was nothing more than a woman.

”Oh my You recognize Big Sis Bai, but you don’t recognize me now? That’s understandable, after all, I’m no longer the me I once was.”

At this moment, I stretched out my hand and firmly clamped his arm.

He exerted force repeatedly, but I did not budge at all.

This absolute power was definitely not something an ordinary person could possess!

So he quickly broke out in a cold sweat... the other party was a Transcendent!

”You... Who are you?”

”Me? I am, of course, your former good son, Yang Yuehan.”
