Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 688: The Terrifying Racial Foundation of the Transcendent Witch

“Huh? Big Sis Little Han, are you going to conduct the next experiment so quickly?”

Everyone was still looking at the data, with Cen Tan, the girl specializing in Biological Alchemy, explaining the meaning of the data changes to them.

But upon seeing our posture, ready for another attempt, many people came forward, preparing to dissuade us.

“Exactly, Sister Yi Rui, you just experienced death. Conducting it twice in a short period of time might be too much, right?”

“Yes, even if you insist, changing the person would be better. How about I go next?”

And on my side, a few people also came over to dissuade me.

“Big Sis Little Han, the consumption of the Resurrection Spell must be huge, right? We just saw you continuously compressing the Magic Power concentration, and the consumption was also terrifying. Wouldn’t trying again so quickly be bad?”

“I have recovery potions here, the kind that can restore Magic Power.”

“No need. My Magic Power Source reserve is far more than you imagine, and I also have the Self-generating Magic Power talent. Even conducting the experiment from just now a few more times is not a problem.”

I shook my head, declining their kind intentions.

“This... alright. Since your Magic Power is so abundant, Big Sis Little Han... has the quantity of your Magic Power Sources reached the peak? If that’s the case... then you might break the Witch Academy record for the fastest graduate in terms of Magic Power Source quantity.”

“Peak? Oh, you mean ten thousand, right?”

Being reminded of this, I recalled something else I had forgotten to tell them.

“I have about sixteen thousand Magic Power Sources now.”

“Sixteen... thousand? Over sixteen thousand? How is that possible! Isn’t ten thousand the limit?”

Hearing my reply, many people turned their heads to look at me, their eyes filled with confusion.

“I forgot to mention it to you earlier, but the bodily talent of Self-generating Magic Power can substitute for the Earth Vein Chains in sustaining the Magic Power Source. Your Magic Power Source limit of ten thousand is because the Earth Vein Chains can only sustain ten thousand, but the upper limit of the Self-generating Magic Power talent is not ten thousand.”

I explained in detail.

“What?!”

“Self-generating Magic Power actually has that capability?”

Everyone present belonged to the uppermost small circle within the Witch Academy and naturally understood what the Earth Vein Chains were, but they hadn’t considered that the Self-generating Magic Power talent actually had this effect!

But regardless, the revelation of this news only made them more determined to participate in this experiment, as they had already boarded this ship earlier.

Even if I tried to drive them away now, they wouldn’t leave!

So, after a flurry of excited discussion, Yi Rui and I roughly explained the topic we had just discussed to everyone.

Now that the stages of the experiment to achieve the Self-generating Magic Power technique were clearly defined, they were all mentally prepared for a long-term experiment.

Now that they had concrete steps, everyone had a better understanding and was ready to work hard.

The few individuals who had previously felt the experiment was too casual and somewhat farcical no longer felt uncomfortable.

Indeed, cooperating with a group of ”like-minded” people meant fewer unnecessary discussions.

So... the phased experiment project for deriving the ”Incubation Rebirth” Spell officially began.

But before that, Yi Rui and I had to test another idea, which was the experiment of resurrecting Yi Rui as ”me.”

This experiment was not as complex as the previous one; it was even simpler.

The entire process only required a change in the target for the Reincarnation Spell.

Subsequently, the Yi Rui in front of me had already transformed from her previous appearance into one that was very similar to mine.

And I looked at this person who was not entirely identical to me and fell into contemplation.

When I converted Yi Rui’s physical information to mine, I could feel a strong sense of discontinuity throughout the entire resurrection process.

This process had already deviated from the original concept of resurrection.

“This is... Little Han’s body?”

Yi Rui spoke at this moment, her voice close to mine.

“This... this is Self-generating Magic Power? And... am I considered Self-awakened Body Cultivation now?”

“Self-awakened Body Cultivation is not a bodily talent, nor is it something you can possess just by changing your body.”

I shook my head, denying this statement.

“As for Self-generating Magic Power... I am quite certain this body possesses this talent. Can you feel the surge of Magic Power? Not the Magic Power originating from the Magic Power Source, but the Magic Power spontaneously generated within the body.”

“Mm, I can feel this Magic Power... Hiss... Wait, this Magic Power...”

Yi Rui nodded, indicating that she could clearly sense the Magic Power I was referring to, but the next moment, Yi Rui showed a look of pain.

“What’s wrong? What happened? What’s wrong with the Magic Power?”

I quickly stepped forward and asked anxiously.

And the others also quickly came forward to support the slightly unsteady Yi Rui.

“I... I don’t know...”

“Let me see.”

I quickly grabbed her wrist, and then my Heart Sense resonated with this body.

Although the other party was not a Body Cultivator and did not have Heart Sense, she possessed a body that was of the ”same essence” as mine.

So, after a Heart Sense perception, I was quite sure that it wasn’t a problem with the body, but a problem with her life essence!

This body was ”assimilating” Yi Rui’s Soul-substance!

Seeing this phenomenon, my first reaction was... I guessed correctly!

The body was a derivation of the life essence, and the Reincarnation Spell reversed the order of this ”derivation” result in a higher-tier manner.

Then this derived body was inversely affecting the ”foundation” of this derivation result, which was her Soul-substance!

This body was mine.

It was the body derived from my soul, so this assimilation, which was based on Self-generating Magic Power, was violently and crudely transforming ”Yi Rui” into ”me”!

At least transforming her into me by altering her self-cognition...

So, before the others could react, I immediately destroyed Yi Rui’s body and used the Reincarnation Spell to resurrect Yi Rui back into her original appearance.

I didn’t know if this assimilation was reversible if it continued, but I didn’t want to touch this domain.

At least I didn’t want to conduct this kind of irresponsible test on them.

After Yi Rui had calmed down, I quietly walked over to her side.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t expect this experiment to turn out this way.”

“Why did I suddenly change back?”

Yi Rui, having slowly adapted, seemed unperturbed and even asked this question in return.

“Because the idea was wrong. If we had continued, you would have completely turned into me, becoming a puppet whose consciousness was overwritten by my body’s self-cognition.”

I explained seriously to everyone.

“The experiment just now proved that Self-generating Magic Power cannot be transferred. It is highly likely related to each person’s life essence, and everyone is unique. We still underestimated the difficulty of its generation.”

“So that’s how it is?”

She smiled bitterly, recalling what had just happened.

She did seem to have been influenced by a type of consciousness, almost to the point of self-identifying as someone else... This experience was indeed very terrifying!

“Yes. I am very sorry; I proposed this experiment...”

“But we didn’t gain nothing, did we? At least we have a direction. Self-generating Magic Power is related to one’s life essence... And combining that with my question to you just now about whether Self-awakened Body Cultivation is a bodily talent and you said no, then Self-awakened Body Cultivation must also be a type of ability of the life essence, right?”

Yi Rui threw away all the lingering fear from before, and immediately entered a professional analysis posture, voicing her thoughts.

“Mm... there seems to be no problem with that statement.”

I nodded, agreeing with this hypothesis.

If Self-awakened Body Cultivation was a manifestation of the life essence, and the body was a derivative of the life essence, then the essence of Body Cultivation practice was also the cultivation of the life essence.

Practicing the Five Senses Enhancement was cultivating the perception channels of the life essence.

Cultivating the body’s muscles was also cultivating and utilizing the derivation of the life essence...

Therefore... when I was shaping Self-generating Magic Power back then, I hadn’t thought so deeply, yet I still completed the shaping of Self-generating Magic Power.

This meant that absolute dominance over the body could also influence the life essence!

And Yi Rui proved this to me with her actions!

The life essence derived the body, and the body also had an inverse influence on the life essence.

So... I only needed to figure out what change in the life essence Self-generating Magic Power corresponded to, and then that technique for modifying the life essence would be the technique for acquiring Self-generating Magic Power!

Wait... if the answer were that simple, would this problem have plagued the entire Witch race for so long?

Self-generating Magic Power, as the foundation for several branch projects under the Great Witch Project, they couldn’t possibly neglect it!

So... either my idea just now was impossible to implement, or there was a more profound reason behind it.

It couldn’t be that they simply hadn’t thought of it...

I recalled every step of that experiment back in Ninglan New City... but the more I recalled, the more confused I became!

That was that before the result of sensing ”a trace of Magic Power,” I didn’t perceive the process that led to this result.

I was merely the discoverer of the result, not the master of the technique!

The difference between the two was simply too great.

“Little Han, what’s wrong?”

At this moment, Yi Rui also walked over.

Although she had just experienced an experimental mishap, as a veteran student, her inherent immortality allowed her to recover quickly.

Not to mention that there were Potion Alchemists present, ensuring various elixirs were available.

At this moment, everyone genuinely wanted to contribute to this experiment.

And I, as the absolute conductor of this experiment, if I didn’t take the next step, they, as ”candidate experimental subjects,” could only watch helplessly.

“I’m sorry... wait a moment. Let me think clearly. I am organizing some matters.”

I held up a hand, indicating not to disturb me.

And Yi Rui understood my intention and did not speak further, even advising the few people around her not to make a sound and disturb me.

She quietly deployed a Soundproof Spell beside me, and the surrounding girls finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“Sister Yi Rui, what’s wrong with Big Sis Little Han?”

“Little Han is thinking about some things. Everyone, please don’t disturb Little Han. If Little Han figures things out, it will greatly accelerate our experiment.”

Yi Rui said.

“Then... what should we do now?”

“Go continue studying that thesis by the Academy Head. At least we should strive to reach a level where we can help Little Han, right?”

Yi Rui said.

And Yi Rui was highly influential among the group.

As soon as she said this, everyone immediately got to work.

And I, at this moment, submerged my consciousness, relying on Self-awakened Body Cultivation to perceive Self-generating Magic Power.

If the theory was correct, these two, being a type of ”application” or ”expression” of the life essence, were likely... no, they were definitely related!

And what was the link that connected these two?

It was the ritual, the ritual that I realized by following an ”instinct” from the Magic Power Source construction technique when I was just short of achieving it.

At that time, I didn’t know what that ritual represented, but I knew it lifted the veil of Self-generating Magic Power for me.

So, I planned to re-enact the original process.

I was doing this to observe the things I missed from my current perspective.

I still remembered that ritual.

Countless Compound Runes unfolded, constructing the framework of the ritual.

And I also used the Reincarnation Spell to separate myself from my original body, which allowed for a more intuitive and accurate depiction of the original scene.

At this moment, I only felt as if something bloomed deep within my soul.

An inexplicable notion made me clearly perceive... what Self-awakened Body Cultivation was.

I was originally trying to investigate Self-generating Magic Power, but at this moment, I perceived Self-awakened Body Cultivation.

However, I quickly understood why... because Self-awakened Body Cultivation... was the pathway for me to recognize Self-generating Magic Power!

I had never so directly felt the manifestation of this power on the life essence.

I even saw the Magic Power Sources constructed on my life essence.

Yes!

The Magic Power Sources... they were not on my body, but constructed on my soul life essence!

And these Magic Power Sources ”expressed” the existence of Self-generating Magic Power in a special way.

After all, Magic Power Sources were not physical entities.

I knew they were closely related to Self-generating Magic Power, but I had genuinely never paid attention to this before...

And the relationship between Self-generating Magic Power and Self-awakened Body Cultivation... was confusing me.

Because theoretically, Self-generating Magic Power was generated because of Self-awakened Body Cultivation, so Self-generating Magic Power should be structured upon Self-awakened Body Cultivation.

And I could verify this relationship.

But setting aside Self-awakened Body Cultivation... Self-generating Magic Power could still exist independently!

So... this relationship was like... a prototype spell and a derivative spell.

The derivative spell was structured upon the prototype spell, yet could exist independently.

Indeed... Self-generating Magic Power was related to Body Cultivation!

So, since Self-generating Magic Power was essentially related to Body Cultivation... but Witches don’t seem to follow the Body Cultivation path... then...

Witchification!

This concept suddenly appeared in my mind.

”Witchification” itself seemed to be an alternative derivation of the Witch’s path of Body Cultivation!

It was like on the path of Body Cultivation, different races had different paths.

Witches also had their own path of Body Cultivation!

So, this also explained why powerful Witches, even in terms of physical constitution, were not particularly weak.

It was just that this ”Witchification Body Cultivation” path was structured upon the foundation of Witch transformation and leaned towards racial transformation.

After the transformation was complete, the focus shifted to the natural formation of Self-generating Magic Power after advancing to Transcendent, and only then was there a slight increase in physical strength.

At this moment, I seemed to have fully understood the inherent foundation of the Witch race, hidden beneath their race and projects!

Even if a witch was an uneducated individual, as long as she became a witch, even if she was a fool who unknowingly walked the path of Body Cultivation, used a spellbook without understanding it, and utilized a Magic Power Source without knowing how to cultivate.

But even such a witch was an existence with terrifying combat power!

Because this Witch system... it forcefully raised the minimum standard of the witch’s capabilities to this extent!

If I were a member of another Transcendent Race... and I understood this truth, I would also exclaim: ”Transcendent Witches... so terrifying!”

After figuring this out, I felt completely relaxed.

After all, once the concept was clear, understanding many other things by following this constructed framework was much easier.

For example, how to generate Self-generating Magic Power... I still didn’t know how, but now I already had a lead.

I was no longer completely in the dark as before.

But before contemplating the technique for generating Self-generating Magic Power, my attention was drawn to a ”thing.”

This thing was very peculiar.

It seemed to be related to both Self-awakened Body Cultivation and Self-generating Magic Power, the two abilities derived from the life essence.

It was very strange.

It seemed as if the combination of these two ”gave birth” to it, yet it was not a rune.

I returned to my own body, then stretched out my hand and tried to construct its ”form” using the method of runes, but there was no effect, no feedback, and no runic effect...

Wait!

No feedback?

Similar to a rune?

No effect at all?!
