Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 440: The Witch Academy’s Radical and Conservative Factions

“Oh? Academy Head Mei Linde. What a coincidence, to run into you here?”

At this moment, Dana, who had nothing to do and had been chased out of the Plantation by Afura, ran into a familiar figure before even walking a few steps out of the Plantation.

“It’s not a coincidence, I deliberately came over to find out about the situation,” Academy Head Mei Linde said, without the slightest intention of hiding anything.

“Huh? Does the Academy Head have to personally grace us with her presence for such a small matter? Oh, it’s an avatar, so that’s not surprising. Is Academy Head Mei Linde so concerned about Little Han’s affairs?”

Dana revealed an expression of incomprehension as she looked at Mei Linde, then spoke again, “Since you’re here to find out about the situation, why don’t we talk at my Cat Cafe? Or the Consulting Room is fine too.”

“The Cat Cafe, then.”

Academy Head Mei Linde did not stand on ceremony.

Subsequently, the figures of the two witches appeared in one of the most special cat rooms in the Witch Cat Cafe.

“Sit wherever. Do you want me to get you a cup of coffee?”

“A cup of black tea, thank you.”

“Still picking? Fine, fine. Who told you to be the Academy Head? You’re so exhausted day-to-day, and you’re still personally handling this small matter, so let me let you try my craft.”

“Thanks. I just mentioned it casually. I didn’t expect you to actually have it here.”

“Of course, the Cat Cafe has everything. Does that need to be said? But seriously, Academy Head Mei Linde, what exactly did you come for this time? Little Han, the Fool’s Dream, or the Fool’s Dream Drink? None of this counts as anything to you, right?”

Moreover, Dana was very clear about the relationship between Academy Head Mei Linde and the Fool’s Dream.

Or rather, these Fool’s Dream originally belonged to this Academy Head.

In the Witch Academy, most Transcendent Witches generally knew what this Academy Head had been doing before.

The only confusing thing was that they didn’t understand why she completely handed all of this over to a student.

But confusion aside, a witch’s actions truly do not necessarily need a reason.

Sometimes, all a witch needs for an action is an “I feel like it,” which is enough to make a witch risk her life for it.

This is not a joke, let alone for a Grand Spellbook and a biological race that might give birth to Primal life?

“I’m just a little surprised when Little Han learned the Fool’s Dream Drink preparation technique and the seeds of those fruits from the Fool’s Dream behind my back.”

“You didn’t know? Oh… wait, you originally wanted to set a trap for Little Han, right… The Fool’s Dream Drink inherently has traces of Elixir preparation. Did you help the Fool’s Dream, or did you facilitate it?”

“Don’t think of me so badly. I merely taught a little bit of the technique for preparing elixirs. I didn’t interfere too much with the rest. Besides… why would I set a trap for Little Han? I just calculated the time. Without a specific ritual, the Fool’s Dream would likely be unable to suppress their Dream State creature essence and detach from reality.”

“Oh, I understand, I understand. Just casually setting up an idle move, right? But you’re going to lose out, aren’t you? Little Han genuinely learns everything, even the Fool’s Dream Drink preparation. She might even have a collecting fetish, collecting all the seeds.”

“Indeed.”

Mei Linde pressed her hand against her temple.

“So what do you want Little Han to do?”

“Am I being that obvious?”

“Don’t forget I’m a master of psychology!”

“A dabbler calls herself a master? You shouldn’t use the little bit of micro-expression analysis you self-taught on me.”

“Fine it looks like Little Han’s affair isn’t the main issue. So what is it? Why the long face?”

“That Bev Ailana person created a difficult problem for me, one that affects the entire Main World. I need to go and persuade the other academies to cooperate,” Mei Linde said.

The thought of that person bringing the players from that game world into the Main World gave her a headache.

Perhaps it was revenge on her part, since she had located the Small World in advance through Little Han but hadn’t communicated this to her…

Look at what a mess those players made of that Small World.

Although she hadn’t personally been to that world, it didn’t mean she didn’t have a general idea, and Little Han had described it to her.

But even that wasn’t the difficult part; what gave her a headache was the other party’s subsequent plan proposal.

Currently in the Main World, Transcendent power and ordinary people are completely separated; they belong to a type that doesn’t cross boundaries, at least overtly, but the Transcendent Academies are still in control.

The meaning of Bev Ailana’s idea was self-evident: she wanted to break this division and bring the Transcendent into the public eye.

If this originally couldn’t be agreed upon, the fusion of that Small World with the Main World would inevitably cause a Transcendent phenomenon affecting the entire world.

With this incident as a starting point, the subsequent appearance of those players disrupting things would be more acceptable.

In fact, this approach aligned with the philosophy of some Radical Factions, and this was even more true within the Witch Academy.

The Main World had been peaceful for too long and needed a global disaster for a proper culling.

However, Bev Ailana was the Conservative Faction within the Witch Academy, believing the Radical Factions were still too conservative.

The Script had already begun.

When the Script was complete, the concept of the soul would be implanted into the concept of the Earth Vein River in the Main World, allowing new soul life to replace the original old Soul-substance life.

The Main World’s policy of encouraging childbirth had also led to a population explosion, which required a cleansing to allow the Soul-substance to cycle.

But the Soul-substance of the Main World alone was far from enough.

The Soul-substance cycle of the Main World still needed replenishment.

One Small World was not enough.

That game world, which liked to plunder the Soul-substance of other worlds, was very suitable.

A large replenishment of Soul-substance was enough to give the Main World more reserves to revive the scorched earth of the Main World, which had become ruins.

After all, population was the foundation of a world.

When everything returned to calm, new vitality would be born in the Main World amidst a scene of death.

The population would also undergo a rotation, and the world would be rebuilt once more.

This was merely the Main World progressing forward, leaving behind a Disaster from beyond the world in history.

And with the rebuilding of the Main World, the news might attract more Transcendent Races to join and cooperate, and at that time, this Main World would also develop to a higher level.

The witches would not be content with the current state of the Main World, and that was the problem.

Besides, all of this was just a projection and had not yet been implemented.

Not to mention whether the other academies would cooperate, even if they did, they would face numerous difficulties.

And couldn’t the other academies see the intention behind the Witch Academy’s actions?

Naturally, they could.

The Witch Academy dared to do this because the witches were confident that if they made the pie of the Main World bigger, they could also take a larger share.

But the other three Transcendent Races didn’t have that confidence.

Rather than taking risks, it was better to maintain the status quo.

And this was just a choice between immediate benefits and long-term benefits.

If this idea needed to be implemented and they wanted the cooperation of the other Transcendent Academies, the Witch Academy also needed to guarantee the interests of the other parties.

Of course, quite a few witches in the Witch Academy actually advocated for not intervening, since fools who cling to outdated ways would eventually be eliminated.

But witches are witches, and the Witch Academy is the Witch Academy.

A crowd of witches might talk big to express their attitude, but the collective naturally prioritized convenience and benefit, or else it would be flipping the table.

But witches were not afraid of flipping the table.

This also needed to be made clear, as it was a necessary threat.

“What? What?”

It was obvious that although many witches in the Witch Academy’s witch community knew about these matters, Dana was not among them.

So, after Mei Linde briefly explained, Dana was immediately shocked!

“So, what do you plan to choose?”

“To go for it, of course! Mei, what about you? You can’t be a coward, can you?”

Dana was so excited that she didn’t even use the title Academy Head to refer to the other party, but Mei Linde didn’t mind.

“I naturally want to do this too, but you have to understand that I’m the one doing it, and I’m responsible for the most troublesome parts. If any other witch were doing this, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second.”

“Then I pity your efforts, our Great Academy Head.”

However, Dana quickly realized, “Wait, Academy Head Mei Linde, what you’re saying here, does it have any connection to your visit here? You can’t possibly want Little Han to cooperate with you on something, right?”

“I do indeed need Little Han to cooperate.”

“No way, can Little Han participate in an event of this magnitude already?”

Dana was shocked.

“Anyone can participate; it’s just a matter of suitability or lack thereof. Little Han isn’t a Transcendent Witch yet and has severed the Earth Vein Chains. She’s an extremely convenient contingency for locating that game world.”

“Wait! Locating it? Little Han? Are you sure?”

“Little Han has the Reverse Summoning Spell. This time, she located the Void position of that Small World faster than the Void Witch Exploration Team led by Bev Ailana. Didn’t she tell you about this?”

“Ah?”

“Well, it seems she didn’t tell you. I thought she would. Originally, I wanted to use this opportunity to save the Fool’s Dream and have her cooperate and help out, acting as a safeguard. Now, it seems that might fall through.”

“So you knew this would happen to the Fool’s Dream all along! You owe me a pot of precious Elixirs! I invested a portion of my life savings into this, do you understand! If I had known this was your doing, would I have needed to go through all this!”

After hearing the explanation, Dana immediately felt a pang of pain.

She genuinely wanted to grab the other person by the collar and question her, but constrained by the other’s status as Academy Head, she only cursed verbally.

“But haven’t you already gained a group of adorable cat-eared girl Fool’s Dream? I remember you once begged me to use the Metamorphic Incubation Spell to help you breed little cat-eared girls. Now I’ve helped you accomplish that,” Academy Head Mei Linde said in a flat tone.

“This! This doesn’t count! This is Little Han’s!”

“Oh? Now they’re Little Han’s again? I saw how eager you were to bring them to the Cat Cafe, though?”

“You…”

It was obvious that Dana was extremely annoyed at the moment.

She had originally wanted to negotiate for some benefits, but now she had implicated herself again.

Damn it, was being the Academy Head so great!

“Hmph! Witches who play these kinds of games have dirty hearts. You couldn’t get Little Han, so you’re grabbing me to be your laborer?”

“Who said that? I’m just here as a safeguard, to ensure infallibility. You say, if I told Little Han face-to-face, would she agree? I bet that child would.”

“I warn you, I’ll stir up trouble by adding fuel to the fire around Little Han.”

“That’s up to you. But I’m taking you as a conscript. You’re so eloquent; come with me to persuade the other academies.”

“Wait! Wait! I also promised Little Han that I would send the materials over tomorrow!”

“It’s fine. Anyway, I won’t be leaving until the day after tomorrow. It shouldn’t take you one or two days to deliver a fruit, should it?”

“You… You! Argh…”

…

At this moment, I came to the Fool’s Dream residence again.

As before, these Fool’s Dream were not being bullied by anyone.

Instead, the other strange creatures nearby were keeping a respectful distance, which I initially guessed was because they had been educated.

But either way, it was good as long as they didn’t bully the Fool’s Dream.

After I gave the remaining Fool’s Dream Drink to that Fool’s Dream, quite a few of the Fool’s Dream had recovered somewhat, but their mental state indeed seemed not very good.

Sure enough, it was because the Fool’s Dream Drink was too scarce; even a single sip didn’t have a very noticeable effect.

But I had no other choice but to temporarily stay here with them.

I didn’t mind spending some time with them to get through this most difficult period.

After all, I hadn’t spent time with them in a long time.

I should take this opportunity to interact with them more.

While I was at it, I added some things to the place where they lived.

As for the remaining time, I was studying the Revelation that I had obtained from the Fool’s Dream Drink.

I was also very curious about what that Rune, which the Revelation had transformed into, was.

In my view, this Rune was somewhat similar to the Rune related to the Tree of Knowledge that I had realized in the Small World.

On the contrary, it seemed more like a key, except I hadn’t found the door it could open.

It couldn’t be some kind of unfinished derivation of the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell, could it?

But why would it be inside the Fool’s Dream Drink?

Perhaps… I could try to do something with it, for example… make it into a spell, just like the Rune I obtained from the Tear of Frenzied Growth before, and see what happens?

Although it might not be effective, it was at least an attempt.

However, this would face a problem, which was that I was currently under the coverage of the Great Weakening Spell.

I might not be able to experiment as freely in the Witch Academy as I could in the Small World.

“Big Sis Little Han, what are you doing?”

At this moment, one of the Fool’s Dream was attracted by the movement in front of me and came towards me.

“I’m researching something related to the Fool’s Dream Drink.”

I looked up at this Fool’s Dream and temporarily put down what I was doing.

“We still have time now, so how about I teach you all how to prepare the Fool’s Dream Drink?”

“Really? Yay!”

“Yay!”

Hearing my words, all the Fool’s Dream immediately cheered happily.

But soon, one of the Fool’s Dream realized something.

“Big Sis Little Han, have the raw materials for making the Fool’s Dream Drink arrived?”

“That’s right, didn’t Big Sis Dana say there weren’t enough raw materials for the Fool’s Dream Drink?”

“It’s just for learning. Big Sis Dana already told me it will arrive by tomorrow at the latest. When that happens, it definitely won’t be enough for just me to prepare the Fool’s Dream Drink alone. If you all learn in advance now, you can help out later on.”

I explained.

“Okay! We’ll help together!”

Following this encouragement from me, the Fool’s Dream became full of enthusiasm.

However, I could only ask those whose condition was not good to rest first.

After all, there was no need to rush learning this technique.

Once the first batch learned, they could then teach each other.

For the first batch of teaching, I prepared to use the subconscious avatar of the Tree of Knowledge to instruct them.

After all, there were so many Fool’s Dream, and I couldn’t handle it all alone.

As for how to teach without physical objects… that was naturally accomplished through the Tree of Knowledge.

The power of the Tree of Knowledge far exceeded its literal meaning to me.

The leaves branching from it also represented my memories.

When taken out, they could be transformed into Memory Projections.

These were actually basic operations, but this ability relied on the power of the Illusory Clone.

To be precise, this kind of projection was actually an illusion effect.

With this ability, one could practice directly using illusions.

Of course, this ability could not be used to delve into any unknown techniques.

I could use this method to teach them how to prepare the Fool’s Dream Drink because I had a clear understanding of the Fool’s Dream Drink.

Anything outside of my cognition had no practical reference value.

All the changes in the Illusionary creation were manifestations based on my cognition.

But for handling the current situation, it was sufficient.
