Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 431: Children of Destiny and Their Supporters

”This...”

The girl, suddenly questioned by me like this, didn’t know how to answer for a moment.

In the end, she only stammered in response, ”It’s just... I heard that Big Sis Xiao Han, you voluntarily gave up your identity as a Child of Destiny, is that right? You weren’t a Child of Destiny originally, but you earned the world’s recognition through your own efforts! Why did you give up such a good opportunity?”

”Oh...”

Hearing the girl ask me this, I roughly understood after some thought.

”That’s right, I personally destroyed the Seed of Destiny. Also, there’s one more thing I need to clarify. My efforts were not to gain the world’s recognition. Efforts are for oneself, understand? There are no benefits in this world without a reason.”

”But... without a Seed of Destiny, how will you compete for the ownership of this world then?”

”Why would I compete for the ownership of the world? Also, where did you hear this?”

I looked at her in confusion, then my gaze shifted to the others.

At this moment, Hong Chenyi was hesitating to speak, Dongli Yiren and Guan Qiuling had complicated expressions, and even Yu Yetian showed a hint of curiosity.

”What’s with these looks? Have you girls added some strange setting for me without me knowing?”

”No... we didn’t originally want to ask this, but... since it’s been asked... we’re actually a little curious about this question too, Big Sis Xiao Han. Do you know that you now have a group of your own supporters?”

At this time, Hong Chenyi, seeing that the girl didn’t know what to say, quickly chimed in.

”How do I have supporters again? I was just gone for a while, what on earth happened at the academy?”

I asked with a bewildered expression.

The current situation was as if everyone knew what had happened except for me, and they were trying to get the answers they wanted from me, who knew nothing.

”Let me say it, Big Sis Xiao Han. During the time you were away, most of the known Children of Destiny have gathered a group of their own supporters. And some are self-formed groups of supporters. Not only in the Witch Academy, but it’s also not uncommon in other academies.”

At this time, Dongli Yiren, seeing that everyone was stammering, stood up and described the current situation with her own understanding.

”And they don’t know where it spread from, that the Children of Destiny are the final qualification to compete for the strongest in the entire world, and then they found such a reason for their siding behavior.”

”Compete for the strongest? They really dare to think.”

Hearing this explanation, I subconsciously laughed.

What’s the use of being the strongest in this world?

Which short-sighted person came up with this reason?

Anyone who understands the truth of this world can see at a glance that this is at most a joke... wait, a joke?

It couldn’t have been spread by the Witch Academy, right...

”Actually, there are many versions of this rumor. Some say it’s for the strongest, some for seeking the truth, some for other things, and some say it’s to be able to talk to the world and realize any of their wishes.”

”Do you believe it?”

I asked them directly in return.

”Uh... we didn’t believe it at first, but this claim is spreading more and more fiercely.”

”A lie is still a lie no matter how many times it’s spread. You should understand this, right?”

I continued to speak.

At this stage, everyone is an adult and should have their own judgment to some extent.

Although I know that for ordinary people, without a channel to obtain information, judging the truth is a one-shot deal.

But I know all this, and I have also made it clear at this moment.

Whether they believe me or not is not something I can control.

After all, I have told them, and it is enough for me to have a clear conscience.

”Then... this kind of thing is a general trend, Big Sis Xiao Han. Many people in our class know that even if you are not a Child of Destiny, they still firmly and silently support you.”

”So what do you want from me?”

I looked at this girl with a smile.

”This... although I alone cannot answer this question for so many people, we all have the same purpose, and that is to hope that you know that you still have us behind you, supporting you.”

”Oh.”

I nodded and said nothing more.

After talking for a long time, we didn’t get to the point.

If there is no reason to support a person, and it is purely one-sided and unrequited, it is meaningless.

Even if you say ”I want to improve so much,” I can affirm the value of her following me.

I dare not take on a guy who follows the trend blindly and is swayed by emotions.

Who knows if they will backlash me one day?

Even if I’m not afraid, it will still disgust me.

After a brief chat with them, I left here on the grounds of updating my dream data.

Seeing my figure disappear, everyone also looked at each other.

In the end, it was Hong Chenyi who spoke up.

”Hey, I’ve helped you this far. This was also a coincidence. You guys also saw Big Sis Xiao Han, and Big Sis Xiao Han also talked to you. This favor is considered to be returned, okay?”

”Thank you, Big Sis Yi, I’ll be leaving now.”

”Hey it’s fine, take care. If you need anything else next time, you can find me.”

Hong Chenyi smiled and said goodbye to them, and then watched them disappear.

”Hong Chenyi, are you taking advantage of Big Sis Xiao Han?”

Seeing Hong Chenyi’s words just now, Dongli Yiren was the first to ask.

”How is that taking advantage? Big Sis Xiao Han will know about this sooner or later. You guys don’t understand Big Sis Xiao Han? She won’t care about those guys. Besides, they gave me an introduction fee, and they are also my classmates. It’s not good to refuse. How about... I treat you to dinner tonight?”

”You should be treating Big Sis Xiao Han. It’s best to explain this matter clearly to Big Sis Xiao Han as well.”

At this time, Yu Yetian, who had not spoken much, also spoke up.

”Um... I didn’t do anything, did I? Why are you guys looking at me like this? This was purely a coincidence, I...”

Hong Chenyi was also a little confused, looking at the few people who lived under the same roof.

Was what she did so wrong?

”No, we mean that we should all get a share.”

”Alright, alright, I’ll treat you tonight. Remember to call Big Sis Xiao Han then.”

At the same time.

In the dream state, I suddenly came to an empty space.

Just now, I had applied to update the data of my virtual dream image.

It seemed that the academy was going to use my image in the dream state as a test subject for the monthly exam for a long time.

I didn’t mind this.

I even thought it was quite fun.

After all, who would refuse to be the final boss in the monthly exam?

Just as I was wondering what to do next, a figure suddenly appeared not far away.

”Hello, you’re student Yang Yuehan, right? I saw just now that you were applying to update your own dream data, is that correct?”

”Uh, yes. Are you... a teacher?”

I looked at the big sister in front of me with a somewhat strong aura and asked subconsciously.

Otherwise, it couldn’t be a virtual character in the dream state, right?

”Something like that. I’m in charge of the maintenance of the Primal Dream State here in the academy, and some other miscellaneous things, like now.”

”Then what should I do?”

I asked curiously.

”It’s very simple. Just show your strength. In a moment, you will be fighting against a virtual dream opponent that is synchronized with your data in real time. It’s that simple.”

”Is it that simple?”

I was also a little incredulous.

”Yes, don’t overthink it. The power of the Primal Dream State is far beyond your imagination. Of course, you don’t need to speculate on the principles of the Primal Dream State. After all, baseless guesses, apart from causing you unnecessary internal consumption, have no benefits.”

”Thank you for the reminder, teacher.”

I nodded and said.

After all, what this witch teacher said was not wrong.

When I learned that my data was being used as a dream character to be challenged by others, it did make me worry for a while.

I was thinking about how this was done, and even thought that all my secrets would be exposed.

But these baseless guesses were indeed just increasing my internal consumption.

So I’m not thinking about these useless things now.

”By the way, I’d like to ask, will this information update of mine affect the upcoming monthly exam?”

”Of course, it will have a little effect, but not much. The workload is not as big as you think. You just need to pay a little attention later. Soon, your opponent will be the most difficult opponent you have ever met in your life, because she will be an existence that is infinitely close to yourself.”

”Yes.”

At this moment, I also nodded and got ready for battle.

Seeing that I was ready, this mentor did not have much of a sense of ceremony and started directly.

Soon, a figure appeared in front of me.

It was a figure that was the same as me before.

But after seeing me, her image also gradually changed. Her irises began to turn blood red, her long hair turned snow white, and a wisp of aura belonging to a body cultivator faintly surrounded her.

Seeing such a change, even I couldn’t help but exclaim.

Even her appearance has changed?

She has the power of a body cultivator in an instant.

Sure enough... this may really be the most difficult opponent I have ever met.

After all, the phrase ”a person’s greatest enemy is themselves” is not just for fun.

Although this situation is generally impossible to encounter.

But this Primal Dream State has done it in this way.

”Let’s begin.”

As this teacher spoke, two figures collided in an instant, followed by a violent collision sound.

...

In the evening.

”It’s not that I’m saying... why hasn’t Big Sis Xiao Han come out yet? She can’t be living in the dream pod, can she?”

”How about... we go and order food first, and then contact Big Sis Xiao Han by phone?”

”No, Big Sis Xiao Han is famous for not caring about her phone messages. What if she doesn’t answer?”

”That seems to be the case...”

At this time, a group of girls came out of the dream pod.

They had also been practicing actual combat in the dream state during this period, but this kind of crash course training did not have any significant improvement, and they were also tortured by the dream opponents.

And just as they were talking, the lid of a dream pod was opened.

”Hmm? Why haven’t you guys left yet?”

At this moment, I, who had slowly emerged from the dream state, subconsciously opened the dream pod.

My still hazy vision immediately recognized the familiar backs of the people outside.

”Big Sis Xiao Han is out? Let’s go, I’m treating you to dinner tonight!”

Hong Chenyi, who heard my voice, immediately turned around and said to me with a wave of her little hand.

”You? Why are you suddenly treating us to dinner?”

I shook my shoulders and moved my limbs.

The phantom pain left in the dream state was still a bit carried over to reality at this moment.

”Oh dear in short, I made some extra money thanks to Big Sis Xiao Han. I was told that everyone should get a share, so I have to treat everyone. But we can’t order too much. I don’t have much money... how about we go for skewers?”

Hong Chenyi said, rubbing her hands together and saying to me.

”Um, Big Sis Xiao Han, don’t mind what those girls said earlier. They just want to ride your coattails, nothing else. If you find them annoying, you can just ignore them. Anyway, Big Sis Xiao Han, you are no longer the class president of Class 14, and you don’t attend classes. You really don’t need to have too many unnecessary entanglements with them.”

”Of course, I know that. It’s just a one-sided wish. But... skewers, that’s fine too. Then I’ll have to trouble you to treat me today, okay?”

I said, putting a hand on Hong Chenyi’s shoulder and smiling.

It’s been so long since school started, and I haven’t really been treated to a meal by anyone.

And this is also one of the few times I’ve gathered with these guys from the dormitory.

I’m usually not very free.

This is a rare opportunity, and I definitely won’t miss it.

Before long, we came to a place near where we lived.

This was an open-air barbecue stall.

There were not many people.

It was run by a senior with some traces of age on her face.

It seemed that she was another senior who had not chosen to become a Transcendent Witch and was preparing to spend the rest of her life here.

Then, the four of us spent a long time choosing on the side, and then made Hong Chenyi pay with a pained expression.

”Big Sis Xiao Han, this is a rare occasion for our entire dormitory to have a meal together. This opportunity is rare. We all know that Big Sis Xiao Han is very powerful. Although we usually don’t see you, we still want to thank you for being willing to treat us as roommates.”

”Hong Chenyi, what are you saying? If I don’t treat you as roommates, then what do I treat you as? You’re making it sound like I’m very heartless.”

”Oh dear... mainly because although we are all students of the same year, I always feel that we are drifting further and further away from you. It’s not even been a semester since school started, but the gap has already been pulled so far that we seem to be from two different worlds. We are all very worried. Such a big thigh, we haven’t even had a chance to hug it before it’s about to run away. We are also very helpless...”

At this moment, Hong Chenyi seemed to have opened a chatterbox, pouring out what she was thinking.

And this was also the first time I had heard them talk to me about my relationship with them.

”Drifting apart... actually, I sometimes feel that way too. It’s a very helpless feeling. We are obviously roommates, but it just feels strange. It’s like we can’t get along after just a few words... I don’t know how to get along with you guys. I’m a bit passive. Before I entered the Witch Academy, I was even an introvert. I didn’t even have friends before...”

”Haha, it’s fine. Big Sis Xiao Han, there’s no need to make the topic so serious. I started a bad head. As long as we know that Big Sis Xiao Han, you still care about us, we will definitely take the initiative to invite you to any group activities in our dormitory in the future!”

”Thanks. By the way, the alchemical item I gave you before is actually for summoning me. I’ve told you before. If you want to see me, just use it. Don’t be afraid of bothering me. If I’m not free, at most I just won’t respond to the summons.”

”Alright! We won’t be polite with Big Sis Xiao Han next time. Big Sis Xiao Han, do you drink?”

”Drink? No, I don’t drink much of that.”

”Then let’s have juice! We must eat our fill before we go back today!”
