Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 428: Returning to the Witch Academy and the Unavoidable Monthly Exam

As the summoning ritual was completed, a white light flashed above it, and a figure suddenly appeared on the ritual.

”Hmm... here... Teacher Ji Niang?”

After feeling the completion of the summoning ritual, my body was already freed from the shackles of the summoning, and I slowly opened my eyes.

The first scene that entered my eyes was a place I was very familiar with.

Then, with a glance, I saw a more familiar figure.

It was Teacher Ji Niang.

”Little Han, you know how to come back, huh?”

Then Teacher Ji Niang looked at me, her tone a little helpless.

”Teacher Ji Niang, I can’t control whether I come back or not. If no one summons me, I can’t come back even if I want to, right?”

After roughly understanding the current situation, I hurriedly shifted the blame.

Anyway, this matter was definitely not my fault!

”That seems to be the case. So, if I hadn’t summoned you back, would you have stayed there for a lifetime?”

”How could that be? I’ve been wanting to come back so much recently. Teacher Ji Niang, you are really my savior!”

I hurriedly flattered her.

”Um... Teacher Ji Niang, is there something you called me back for this time? Or is there something I can help with?”

After all, I remembered that Teacher Ji Niang was studying [Transcendent Knowledge].

She would usually stay in that laboratory for several days without coming out.

This was a common occurrence.

The office I was in now was the same office as before, which meant that Teacher Ji Niang had come out for something.

”Of course, there is something. But it’s not related to [Transcendent Knowledge]. It hasn’t reached the point where it can’t proceed without you. There is something else.”

Ji Niang naturally saw what I was thinking and then said with a serious expression.

”Oh, oh.”

I hurriedly nodded and straightened my posture.

I naturally knew that I was not necessary in terms of [Transcendent Knowledge].

Then I spoke again, ”So, Teacher Ji Niang, what did you summon me for?”

”What’s the matter... it’s not me, Little Han, do you know how many months have passed since you started school, and how many monthly exams you have taken? I applied for a course exemption for you, but I didn’t say that you could ignore the exams.”

”Uh...”

Being reminded by Teacher Ji Niang and then being stared at by such a gaze, I immediately felt a lot of pressure.

After the pressure, I quickly reacted.

Was it time for the monthly exam again?

”It’s only been one semester, right? Count with your fingers how many monthly exams you have participated in? How many times have you missed them? You don’t attend classes, and you don’t take exams. Are you even a student? The academy also has its rules.”

”Uh... Teacher Ji Niang, then... since there is a course exemption, is there an application for exam exemption in the academy?”

After being told this by Teacher Ji Niang and after a period of careful reflection, I chose to ask if I could apply for an exam exemption between taking the exam on time and missing it.

”Ahem...”

Teacher Ji Niang chuckled lightly at my question.

I don’t know if it was out of anger.

”The monthly exam is a means of periodically testing a person’s progress, not a threshold for you to cross in one step. Are the knowledge tested in the monthly exam meaningful? No, at least not very useful, because this is what you have just learned this month. It is a threshold for testing your learning achievements in a month.”

”But I have a course exemption. If I still have to be tested on the knowledge I learned this month, what’s the point of this exemption?”

”The exemption is to save you the meaningless time spent in class, not to let you learn nothing at all. If it weren’t for the fact that I know you and your learning ability, your behavior would be no different from self-degeneration in the eyes of others.”

”Of course, I don’t have to live in the eyes of others, right?”

After all, I had no interest in deliberately showing my efforts to let others know that I was not slacking off.

”It’s just an analogy, do you understand? Maybe you don’t need others to understand you, but you also have to understand that the Witch Academy you are in is an academy.”

”But what they are teaching now is really too simple...”

I muttered in a low voice with my lips pursed.

”Simple, then you can just find difficulty for yourself. Anyway, don’t miss this monthly exam. You have already missed it twice. The first time, the Academy Head covered for you, and it can be said that you were helping the Academy Head. This time, it can also be attributed to the Academy Head’s fault. But it has been another month since the last time. There is no reason to stay there anymore. The Academy Head will not cover for you every day for no reason.”

Teacher Ji Niang said in a huff, her tone also very firm.

”Oh, oh.”

I nodded repeatedly.

Anyway, I had already been called over by Teacher Ji Niang.

I would just go to the monthly exam.

It was no big deal.

I had been thinking about coming back when I was in that small world, and I was just summoned by Teacher Ji Niang, so it was just right.

”Don’t agree so quickly. Also, I have another thing to tell you.”

”There’s something else? What is it?”

I was also a little curious.

After all, it couldn’t be a small matter if Teacher Ji Niang deliberately told me about it, right?

”It’s not a big deal. It’s just that you haven’t been in the academy for a while, and the academy has also changed a bit.”

”Changed?”

I was a little confused.

The Witch Academy couldn’t have expanded, right?

”That’s right. You are the most special batch. I won’t say where you are special. In short, the academy is preparing to start with your batch to try and adjust the proportion of combat power training. You know, the first three years of the Witch Academy are fixed courses, and the resources that can be accessed are very few. At most, there are some simulated actual combat. In general, it is mainly theoretical knowledge.”

”Uh... is the academy going to start distributing a large number of Magic Power Sources and spellbooks now? Or is it to provide a special channel for the newcomer stage to obtain these resources?”

I asked with some surprise.

”Combat power is the least lacking thing for a witch. And it’s not just Magic Power Sources and spellbooks. But for you who have just become a reserve witch... uh, except for you. In short, the educational policy of the Witch Academy is not to measure everything by combat power. After all, academic witches account for a large proportion in the Witch Academy. But times are developing. In the early days of the Witch Academy, students only had one Magic Power Source, and there were not as many spellbooks as there are now. The Witch Academy has changed a lot since its development.”

”So... why is this happening?”

I asked curiously.

After all, I had always thought that the training method of the Witch Academy was to strongly screen out ordinary students, the kind of quality over quantity.

But now it seemed that the Witch Academy still cared a little about its students.

”It’s all because of Tan Han, hmm... and you. Now, in the newcomer stage of the same grade in the Witch Academy, there is a gap in strength. I heard that Tan Han even gave all her spellbooks to you?”

”Yes, but I didn’t touch those spellbooks.”

I shrugged and said, not caring if Teacher Ji Niang believed me or not.

”So is the academy compromising? Or is this to cope with the development of the script and to develop many high-end combat forces?”

”That’s right. The previous educational method of the Witch Academy was destined to make the newcomer group unsuitable for any combat power exchange with other academies. You can see it, right? During the dream state exchange competition, you and Tan Han turned the tide, and the other eight people became foils. But their strength was still far behind yours, and their strength level was also in the middle rank among all the Transcendent Academies. The reason they had such strength was mostly because of the spellbooks. But if you give this kind of thing to anyone, they can do the same thing as them.”

”Hmm... is the academy not going to focus on the Children of Destiny anymore?”

After all, at that time, Tan Han was the only Child of Destiny.

But now the academy was paying attention to people who were not Children of Destiny... wouldn’t that be a little strange?

”Of course, everything is centered on the Children of Destiny, but so what? If all the focus is on those Children of Destiny, then they will eventually just be a group of people who are independent of the entire peer group and are just enjoying themselves. Their stage will always be as small as what they have seen. This is not right. Their stage is the whole world. The people around them are not cannon fodder who are used to set off their gap and then be left behind at the beginning. Children of Destiny are not far superior to ordinary people because we give them preferential treatment, but because in a fair environment, they can still shine with their own brilliance. This is the true meaning of destiny.”

”Uh...”

Hearing Teacher Ji Niang say this, I also felt it was very right.

It should be like this.

How could someone think so clearly?

This is a big picture!

But I was still curious.

This kind of idea couldn’t have just appeared out of thin air, right?

”I’d like to ask, has the development of all this... been because of the exposure of concepts like Children of Destiny, which has led to some people’s mentality becoming inflated?”

I asked tentatively.

”You can see it? Something like that. It’s one of the reasons.”

Teacher Ji Niang said indifferently, and then her tone changed and she gave me an eviction order.

”Anyway, it’s good that you understand. Go, go, don’t miss the monthly exam. Go back and prepare well.”

”I know, I know.”

I felt a push pushing me out of here and hurriedly said.

I didn’t expect that she was not willing to talk about some things with me after not seeing me for so long.

Even I was a little curious about the changes in the academy.

It seemed that I could only learn about it from other channels.

Well... it’s nothing.

After being kicked out, I also patted the clothes on my body.

This outfit was still from that small world.

But this outfit was not out of place in a college like the Witch Academy that likes to pursue personal style.

After leaving Teacher Ji Niang’s office, I also let out a long sigh of relief.

The air of the main world was really different from that of that small world.

It was still more comfortable here.

But I soon felt another level of discomfort, and that was the suppression brought by the Great Weakening Spell.

This obvious contrast between before and after made me clearly feel the suppressive force of this Grand Spell on the transcendent, and the suppressive force on the transcendent energy in the environment.

This was all-round!

Feeling this sharp contrast again, a flash of inspiration flashed in my mind, as if some wonderful ideas flashed by.

But I was already somewhat used to this situation.

With the perfection of the Tree of Knowledge, it has integrated the two most important spellbooks I use for learning, the Memory Bookshelf and the Flexible Learning and Application. In addition, with the effect of the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell, it can be said that I am terrifyingly strong now!

Even if the means I have mastered are the same as before, I can now basically do things that I would not have dared to think of before, and that is to quickly derive spells in battle to deal with various situations.

I couldn’t imagine how there could be such a genius before, but now I have done it.

I will only say now that of course there can be such a genius.

This transformation is centered on me, so I am very clear about the span between the me from before and the me from now, which can be reached through hard work.

Of course, the premise of this hard work is also to have the corresponding capital.

After leaving Teacher Ji Ni-iang’s office, I hesitated for a moment.

Reason told me that now that I was back, I could go to the academy library to find relevant documents and research on the Earth Vein, and find the knowledge I needed to perfect the skills derived from my Tree of Knowledge.

But sensibility told me that I should go back, back to my residence, which is the academy dormitory, and by the way, see how my roommates, whom I haven’t seen for a long time, are doing now.

I missed them after not seeing them for a long time.

In the end, reason and sensibility convinced me at the same time.

The accumulation of knowledge can be done at any time, and the precipitation after accumulation is also very important.

Changing one’s lifestyle also helps with the precipitation of knowledge; and the relationship between people can also promote self-improvement.

Lowering the threshold for friends, aren’t those guys in the dormitory my friends?

Now that I think about it, I wonder how Dongli Yiren and Senior Sofili’s planting skills are doing?

I taught Guan Qiuling a few words.

Has she focused her energy on herself?

As for Hong Chenyi... I hope she and Shi Huiyu are happy.

And Yu Yetian... I don’t know how she is doing.

She is an ascetic.

She should have her own ideas about things.

She shouldn’t be as worrisome as the first three.

Of course... what’s more important is whether Big Sis Bai has come back.

Will she not find me?

But seeing that Teacher Ji Niang didn’t mention this to me, she probably hasn’t come back.

Otherwise, according to Big Sis Bai’s thinking, if she couldn’t find me, she would most likely go to Teacher Ji Niang.

I took out my phone that I hadn’t used for a long time.

As soon as I turned it on, a large amount of information popped up on the screen.

It seems that many people have been looking for me during this period?

It could also be group chat messages.

When I opened it, there was still no movement from the pinned contact of Big Sis Bai.

It even showed that the other party could not be contacted.

After seeing this, I also sighed heavily.

I was almost not in the mood to read the messages below.

Anyway, they were messages that had been delayed for who knows how long.

It didn’t matter whether I read them or not.

But in the end, I chose to read them because of my curiosity.

There were not many people on my contact list, and many of them were group chats and temporary chats.

For example, the class group, the mutual aid group, and so on.

I also saw many private messages saying that my position as class president had been revoked.

Seeing this, I finally reacted.

This was what I had told Teacher Ji Niang before that I didn’t want to be the class president.

I didn’t expect so many people to care about this...

But unfortunately, I wouldn’t reply to them one by one.

I could only clear the message red dots one by one.

Until I scrolled to Tu Xingyue.

Teacher Ji Niang had reappointed her as the class president.

She was originally the vice class president, and now she was finally promoted.

I glanced at her private message, and then quickly pulled the screen away.

”Yuck cheesy. It’s just a class president position, isn’t it? Is it necessary to be like this?”

Then I scrolled to Hong Chenyi and the others, who had also sent me messages.

It was nothing important, mostly related to the summoning ritual.

They didn’t use it because they were afraid of disturbing me.

”Alright, alright... so no one summoned me for so long because they were afraid of bothering me? This kind of thinking is not good.”

I shook my head and suddenly found that there were also...

”Sofili? Is she... oh! It’s about the seeds. Such an important matter, sigh... I’ll go and see when I have time. By the way, this kind of fruit should not spoil, right?”

After all, there are spells like preservation spells in magic.

As a planter, Sofili should have these spells.

At the very least, she should have similar means.

Then I’m not in a hurry.

I’ll just send a private message to ask about the situation.

If it’s really not possible, I’ll make time to go and see the situation today.
