The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 23: Chapter 23: Love What You Do

The customer’s attitude left Wang Yuxuan dumbfounded.

Su Ying finished crying, wiped her tears, and really started to eat the noodles with her head down.

Xu Dan asked with concern, ”Is it good?”

Su Ying nodded, ”It’s good, this is the taste my grandma used to make.”

Xu Dan looked at the plain noodle soup, feeling a bit helpless and somewhat sympathetic.

The child misses her grandma, longing for this familiar taste.

This kind of innocent and pure feeling cannot be measured by money.

[Ding! NPC agent Xu Dan has posted a task: Make a delicious seafood noodle dish, successfully completed, reward received: Dough skill level +1]

Fu Yu was instantly overjoyed.

Hurriedly checked his personal attributes.

[Dough: Beginner: 300/500]

He had gained another personal skill.

Dough refers to the Bai’an Chef in the back kitchen, who makes buns, steamed buns, dumplings, and other dough-based foods.

Fu Yu had previously specialized in cooking at school and wasn’t good at dough-based dishes.

Now, with the reward, he no longer has to worry about his dough skills in the future.

Fu Yu secretly chuckled to himself.

By this time, Wang Yuxuan was completely in shock.

Is this possible?

Just a bowl of noodle soup, and it won the customer’s favor?

Not even TV shows would dare to depict this!

That little customer had described it at length earlier.

No shrimp or crab, yet so delicious that they could eat a big bowl.

Fu Yu managed to accurately determine the customer’s needs from such a vague description?

How did he do it?

Wang Yuxuan couldn’t help but turn his head to look at Fu Yu.

Fu Yu was staring blankly, smiling as he browsed through his personal attributes.

From Wang Yuxuan’s angle, Fu Yu looked like he was watching the customer dine with satisfaction.

Is this...

The happiness of being a chef?

Watching customers bite by bite eat the food he made by hand.

Does it make one feel particularly satisfied?

Fu Yu truly loves the job of being a chef!

...

Zhao Meng hung up the phone and turned to tell Yao Shi about it.

Yao Shi was quite surprised, ”Chef Gu left too? Wasn’t he on the night shift today?”

Zhao Meng was furious, ”Who knows, we better get back quickly to make sure nothing goes wrong.”

They hadn’t really gone to the music restaurant to help.

Instead, Yao Shi had created a new dish and wanted to introduce it at the music restaurant, so he specifically invited Zhao Meng to help taste it.

Now that something had happened at the restaurant, they quickly turned the car around and hurried back.

Half an hour later, Zhao Meng and Yao Shi rushed back to the Qianlima Restaurant.

The two rushed into the restaurant.

At this time, Gu Yunwu had just finished chatting with his friend and came down from the third floor with a cheerful demeanor.

He was taken aback to see Yao Shi and Zhao Meng coming back together.

Weren’t they gone already? Why did they return?

Zhao Meng first noticed Gu Yunwu and quickly approached him, questioning, ”Where did you go?”

Gu Yunwu was startled, ”Oh, an old friend came to the restaurant for a meal, and I chatted with them for a bit.”

Seeing Gu Yunwu’s flushed face, obviously smelling of alcohol, Zhao Meng knew he’d had a drink.

Realizing Zhao Meng didn’t look pleased, Gu Yunwu quickly asked, ”What’s wrong?”

Zhao Meng, too agitated to explain in detail, briefly replied, ”The seafood noodles I made earlier were returned by the customer and requested to be remade.”

This left Gu Yunwu in shock!

Zhao Meng had now faced two returns in a row, what’s going on?

Is he having bad luck?

Suddenly he thought, that’s not right!

Gu Yunwu followed Yao Shi and Zhao Meng towards the back kitchen, asking, ”Then why didn’t anyone call me?”

”The back kitchen staff didn’t know where you went!”

Gu Yunwu then realized that he had left in a hurry earlier, only telling Yao Yihang to call him if necessary, without revealing his whereabouts.

”But I told Gao Yunjing, and she didn’t mention this to me!”

Zhao Meng, with a stern face, said coldly, ”She didn’t tell you because someone else handled it.”

Gu Yunwu was taken aback, ”Who took care of it?”

Zhao Meng gritted his teeth, ”Fu Yu, that brat took the order for the seafood noodles and took care of it!”

Hearing this, Gu Yunwu fell silent.

When one’s luck turns, it’s as if even a fart could hit their heel.

He usually worked diligently without a hitch, staying calm and collected.

Just today, when an old friend came for a meal, he got carried away and had two drinks, and things went south!

The three hurried to the back kitchen, only to find three late-shift workers.

Zhao Meng asked, ”Where’s Fu Yu?”

Yao Yihang was busy slicing lamb, jumped at the voice, surprised to see the three leaders had returned.

Quickly replied, ”Fu Yu went to serve the noodles to the customer.”

Gu Yunwu questioned, ”When something went wrong, why didn’t you call me?”

Yao Yihang looked puzzled, ”Wasn’t it resolved?”

Gu Yunwu’s expression changed!

He thought to himself, Yao Yihang is alright in other aspects, but he lacks awareness.

Usually, because Zhao Meng and Yao Shi are close, he has subtly started to distance himself from Zhao Meng.

In daily work, they take orders separately and do their own tasks. If help is needed, it has to be clearly stated.

They’ve always minded their own business without interfering with each other.

This attitude naturally led the junior workers to imitate them.

It wasn’t a problem before, but now that something went wrong, this petty behavior is hard to defend.

After all, everyone works in the kitchen, and the main focus is to serve the restaurant.

This indifferent attitude when something happens is definitely unacceptable.

Sure enough, Zhao Meng’s face turned dark.

He glared angrily at Gu Yunwu.

Gu Yunwu felt guilty, holding onto a sliver of hope that things were still salvageable!

So he cautiously asked, ”How long has Fu Yu been gone?”

Yao Yihang estimated, ”About ten minutes or so.”

As soon as he spoke, Zhao Meng turned and rushed outside.

Yao Shi followed behind, ”Hey! Old Zhao! Don’t get agitated!”

Gu Yunwu secretly thought, damn it!

He hurriedly followed them out.

The three of them rushed to the front hall.

Dai Li, the server in charge of dish delivery, just came out of a private room on the first floor, saw them, and quickly greeted them, ”Chef Yao, why are you all here?”

Yao Shi asked, ”Do you know where Fu Yu is?”

Dai Li nodded, ”In room 210, I saw him go there earlier, and he hasn’t come out yet. It’s been a while.”

Just one sentence.

The three of them felt a sinking feeling in their hearts.

It’s over.

Too late.

Room 210.

Fu Yu and Wang Yuxuan admired the little beauty customer dining for a moment before preparing to leave.

As the two reached the door, they met the trio who had just arrived.

Wang Yuxuan was surprised, ”Chef Yao... Chef Zhao, Chef Gu? Why are you all here?”

Zhao Meng glanced at the two customers quietly dining inside and swallowed back the words he wanted to say.

He led the way outside, and the others quickly followed.

When they closed the door of room 210.

Zhao Meng urgently asked, ”How did it go? What did the customer say?”

Fu Yu smiled slightly, ”Very satisfied, it’s already resolved.”

Zhao Meng was taken aback, ”Resolved? How did you resolve it?”

Having trained Fu Yu for almost a year, he knew very well Fu Yu’s skill level with noodles.

The seafood noodles he personally made weren’t up to the customer’s satisfaction; could Fu Yu’s be better?

Fu Yu chuckled and said, ”I cooked another bowl of noodles.”

Zhao Meng scolded, ”Are you crazy? At such a critical moment, why would you show off?”

Fu Yu quickly said, ”I’m aware of the situation, don’t worry.”

Zhao Meng was so angry his head hurt, ”How can I not worry! Can you imagine if the customer makes a fuss, what will you do? How can you take on everything yourself?”

Fu Yu explained, ”The customer was quite satisfied.”

Zhao Meng was skeptical, ”Really?”

Fu Yu nodded, ”Really, they’ve already started eating.”

Zhao Meng was flabbergasted, ”What exactly happened?”

”The customer wanted a bowl of seafood noodles like the ones their grandma used to make. The taste you made was off, and they hoped the kitchen could make another...”

Fu Yu recounted the situation truthfully.

Zhao Meng was exasperated, ”In such a situation, you dared to take it on? What if you couldn’t make it?”

Fu Yu explained, ”The customer said, just make another bowl, and if the taste isn’t right, it’s okay.”

Zhao Meng took a deep breath, ”Are you a preschooler!? You believe whatever people say!”

”Since the customer asked for a redo because the seafood noodles didn’t taste right, did you consider what if they change their mind? What will you do then?”

Fu Yu: ”If they request it again, I can just make another bowl.”

Zhao Meng was momentarily stunned.

You little brat! Arguing with me?!

Seeing that Zhao Meng was about to explode again, Fu Yu quickly said, ”I know I shouldn’t have acted on my own. But since you weren’t in the kitchen, and neither were Chef Yao and Chef Gu, with the customer demanding a redo, who else could cook it but me?”

Yao Shi: ”...” This kid is just showing off!

Gu Yunwu: ”...” No need to specifically mention that I wasn’t there, right?

Zhao Meng: ”...” Damn! How am I supposed to respond to that?

Wang Yuxuan with starry eyes: ”...” Fu Yu is impressive!

Fu Yu seriously explained, ”In this situation, if I don’t step up to resolve it, what else could be done? And the seafood noodles turned out really well.”

Fu Yu looked at Wang Yuxuan.

Wang Yuxuan quickly chimed in, ”Yes! The noodles were done really well, and the customer was very satisfied.”
