The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Ingenious Badge

[Draw a Prize: Yes or No]

Fu Yu chooses to draw.

The next second, a colorful big wheel suddenly appears in the void before him.

Every prize slot is covered with a layer of golden coating, making it difficult to discern what’s underneath.

Makes it quite mysterious!

Fu Yu rubs his hands eagerly.

He is, after all, a chosen one.

His luck shouldn’t be too bad, right?

Above the big wheel, a countdown appears [3, 2, 1]

[Ding! Congratulations on winning a random prize: a Badge of Unique Ingenuity!]

Fu Yu: ”Huh?!”

The prize is a compliment?

No way!!

Then he notices there’s a [!] after Unique Ingenuity.

Fu Yu chooses to check the attributes of Unique Ingenuity.

[Unique Ingenuity: To be a chef beloved by customers, it’s not enough to just make tasty dishes. You must also cleverly use original ideas in plating to satisfy the customer’s visual needs.

Wearing this badge: During independent dish presentation, you can have boundless creativity and the ability to perceive customer thoughts or awaken customer resonance.]

Fu Yu: ”!!!”

This badge is awesome!

It’s practically like giving dish presentation a new cheat code!

Chefs aim to make dishes that are visually appealing, aromatic, delectable, and beautifully shaped.

It’s not enough for ingredients to be fresh and taste good; they must also visually satisfy the customer’s aesthetic needs.

Transforming an ordinary dish with a unique plating concept can greatly enhance the enjoyment it brings to people.

Because the effect of plating directly influences the dish’s presentation, even affecting the customer’s appetite.

So presentation is crucial for chefs.

Back in school, Fu Yu even specifically studied courses on plating.

He’s familiar with the concepts and application of points, lines, and shapes.

But listening and reciting are one thing; the final product often ends up different from what you imagined when you actually try it.

Especially at Qianlima, where he works now, which mainly features specialty dishes, all plating styles are passed down by the head chef, and the assistants usually stick to the script.

This requires starting from scratch.

But with this Badge of Unique Ingenuity.

Everything is different!

It allows boundless creativity and the ability to perceive customer thoughts or awaken customer resonance.

Isn’t this like having the proctor help you cheat during an exam!

Not only does he have creative inspiration, but he can also know the customer’s preferences and plate according to their needs.

Even if the final result doesn’t meet expectations, he can resonate with the customer, allowing them to understand and accept his ideas.

This badge is simply a divine skill!!

With this badge, he’ll never worry about presentation again!

A badge in hand, the world is mine, that’s the feeling, right?!

Wow--hahaha!!

Isn’t Heaven treating him as the lucky one?

If it’s really this awesome!

Dare to give him a badge related to a girlfriend next time?

For instance, if he fancies a pretty girl, he could have infinite creativity in pursuing her, and even know her preferences, pursuing her based on her needs, and even awaken her resonance!!

Just thinking about it...

It’s so exciting!!

Hehehehe!!!!

...

Fu Yu changed his clothes and went to the kitchen to find Zhao Meng.

On the way, he encountered the dessert shop owner delivering a new order.

”Hey! Xiaofu, you’re back?”

Fu Yu quickly stopped and greeted with a smile: ”Boss Pang!”

Boss Pang runs a sizable dessert shop in this city.

Because of the good quality and moderate prices, they’ve been long-term partners with Qianlima.

For various wedding and birthday banquets, the shop exclusively supplies goods from Boss Pang’s shop.

The two stores have been partners for many years, considered old customers.

Boss Pang’s face, round as a ball, instantly broke into a smile: ”I just went to the kitchen and saw you weren’t there. I asked Chef Zhao and found out you went out with Chef Yao?”

Fu Yu replied, ”Yes, I’ve just returned and was about to go see Chef Zhao. Boss Pang, shall I go now?”

Boss Pang extended his short, stout arm: ”Hey, Xiaofu, perfect timing running into you. There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you.”

Fu Yu was puzzled: ”What’s up?”

Boss Pang asked seriously, ”I heard your family is from Sibei?”

Fu Yu nodded: ”Uh-huh.”

Boss Pang raised a finger: ”Your little county hasn’t had any projects for years, right?”

Fu Yu nodded: ”...Uh-huh.”

Boss Pang nodded and asked again: ”I heard you’re an only child?”

Fu Yu nodded: ”...Uh-huh.”

Boss Pang raised two fingers: ”And you don’t have a girlfriend?”

Fu Yu nodded: ”Uh-huh... huh?”

Fu Yu looked at Boss Pang, tentatively: ”Boss Pang, you’re asking these because...”

”Hehe...” Boss Pang’s small eyes squinted even more due to his chubbiness: ”Here’s the thing, I have a daughter, you know?”

Fu Yu was a bit surprised. Was he trying to set him up?

Ever since he graduated and started working, no one had tried to set him up anymore.

After all, once they heard about his situation, potential suitors would back off.

But considering Boss Pang’s height, barely reaching 170 cm, his towering 200 pounds, and his rough, dark face.

Fu Yu thought... Like father, like daughter.

This potential blind date seemed a bit overwhelming for him.

Fu Yu hesitated for three seconds, then shook his head: ”Well, I don’t really know.”

Boss Pang chuckled: ”Doesn’t matter if you don’t know. She’s coming back soon from studying abroad. You young folks have a lot in common, why not meet up and get to know each other more?”

Fu Yu delicately said: ”There’s no need, I don’t even know your daughter...”

Boss Pang waved his hand: ”Oh, it’s important! You don’t know her now, but after you meet, you will!”

Fu Yu was about to refuse.

Boss Pang laughed: ”Hey, we’re all family here, so I’ll be frank. My daughter went abroad to study when she was in sophomore year of high school. Now, she’s about to graduate from university and suddenly says she doesn’t want to come back. Do you think I can agree to that?”

Speaking of this, Boss Pang got a bit irritated: ”I worked hard to earn money to support her studies, and now that she’s accomplished, she wants to stay abroad to benefit foreigners? No way! Keep our resources within our own borders; I must make her come back and serve the country.”

Fu Yu: ”...”

This awareness, this mindset!

Really puts others to shame!

”Besides, people raise children for support in old age. I’m worn out from raising her half my life, and if, when I’m old, there’s no one to care for me, what am I doing this for!!”

Fu Yu thought it over and found it quite reasonable.

With a clap of his fat hands, Boss Pang said: ”So, I think that this time, no matter what, I have to get her back. Once she’s back, I’ll have her go on blind dates and find a boyfriend.”

”Women, once they find love, are like moths to a flame. Once the marriage is secured and the children are born, she’ll never think of leaving this life.”

Fu Yu: ”...”

Something seemed off, but upon reflection, it made sense.

Boss Pang: ”I’ve observed for quite some time now. Among the young people around, you’re pretty good.”

Fu Yu instinctively straightened up, thinking to himself: Such good taste!

Boss Pang enumerated: ”Good looks.”

Fu Yu modestly: ”Oh, stop, just the genes from my parents.”

Boss Pang: ”Work’s not great, kitchen helper, do you even make two thousand a month? Not much for living expenses, right?”

Fu Yu: ”Uh, I live quite frugally, so it’s enough.”

Boss Pang: ”Your family’s from a small, poor county. Quite poor. But with our family’s conditions, it doesn’t matter if the guy is poor or rich.”

Fu Yu: Such words, really leave me speechless.

Boss Pang: ”Plus, I only have this one daughter, and the bit of savings we have, though not much. Three chain stores in the city, all of which we own. We have a villa in the western area that we live in, and we just bought an apartment downtown. We have three cars, two BMWs and a Mercedes, and savings just shy of eight figures.”

Fu Yu: ”...”

Boss Pang: ”With our conditions, we won’t trouble anyone over a bride price. Like you, if you can win my daughter’s favor, not only will I waive the bride price, I’ll give you a house and a car, and a generous dowry for your family!”

Fu Yu felt as if his bottom line was slowly lowering, about to hit the ground.

Then Boss Pang suddenly patted his fat chest: ”I, what I say counts! You can rest assured of that!”

Listening to the sound of the slap on the flesh, a word suddenly and inexplicably flashed through Fu Yu’s mind.

Like father, like daughter...

The eyes that were almost blinded by gold just now suddenly regained clarity.

This bride price, it’s a bit hot to handle!
