Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 3026: Chapter 3035: Does She Think I’m Brainless?

”It’s not just me during this time; everyone in our family is troubled because of her. My wife secretly wiped her tears several times from anger, and the day before yesterday, we heard she fainted, her blood pressure went up, and she almost ended up in the hospital with her. The house has been in chaos because of her, Ms. Clark, do you understand my predicament?”

Enna Clark, though good-tempered, is not naive. She patiently listened to Mr. Hanson finish speaking, then looked directly into his wise eyes without flinching and asked indifferently, ”What is it that you want me to do, Grandpa Hanson?”

As Mr. Hanson met her clear and transparent gaze, for some reason, his throat felt like it was stuck, and he almost couldn’t say what he had prepared to say. Even when he finally spoke, it was filled with a sense of shame, ”I want to ask Ms. Clark for a favor, to help me speak to Young Master Lawrence, see if he could go to the hospital to check on Wendy. Wendy isn’t listening to anyone right now, but I think she’d at least listen a little to Young Master Lawrence.”

He had met Enna Clark and had brief contact with her a few times, very aware of her character. This is why today, he took advantage of Baron Lawrence’s absence to visit, hoping that Enna Clark would consider his elderly request and help persuade Baron Lawrence.

He knew clearly that going directly to Baron Lawrence, the chances of success were zero.

There’s even a possibility it might affect the relationship between the two families.

After careful consideration, he decided to ask Enna Clark.

Being a man himself, he could see how a man cares about a woman. Baron Lawrence, the heir of the Lawrence Family, is generally hard-hearted to everyone except Enna Clark.

As long as Enna Clark helps, Baron Lawrence will most likely go to the hospital.

He thought of everything, except for the fact that after listening to him, Enna Clark would outright refuse him without any hesitation, telling him directly, ”I’m sorry, Grandpa Hanson, I can’t help you.”

Mr. Hanson became a bit anxious, earnestly looking at her, ”Ms. Clark, I’m really at a loss, could you please just talk to Young Master Lawrence for me? I mean no harm; I just hope Young Master Lawrence can visit Wendy in the hospital and talk to her briefly.”

”I understand what you mean, Grandpa Hanson.” Enna Clark’s eyes were clear but carried a penetrating insight; she did not change her decision despite Mr. Hanson’s earnest pleading and declined straightforwardly, ”But Ms. Hanson, does she mean the same thing as you? Can Grandpa Hanson be sure that Ms. Hanson would only want to listen to Baron Lawrence’s advice once she sees him? Can Grandpa Hanson guarantee that Ms. Hanson won’t seize this opportunity to cling to Baron Lawrence? Even if I agreed, can Grandpa Hanson guarantee that afterward, Ms. Hanson wouldn’t think she discovered a way to compel Baron Lawrence to meet her and repeatedly use this method to achieve her meeting purposes?”

”I’m not going to allow Grandpa Hanson’s request just because he asked me to, and make my husband meet a woman who clearly has feelings for him. I know my temperament might cause misunderstandings for others, but I’m sorry, Grandpa Hanson, being good-tempered doesn’t mean I’m foolish. I can’t agree to such an unreasonable request!”

Enna Clark spoke very candidly and clearly, even to the point of being unkind. Mr. Hanson was rarely directly confronted like this by juniors; his face first changed, then he sighed with defeat, his shoulders slumping. He seemed to have aged several years in an instant; his tired face revealed a gentle smile, not enraged with humiliation, ”The one who should apologize is me; I was too selfish. I’m sorry, Ms. Clark.”
