Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 3007: Chapter 3016: The Phone Answered by a Stranger Woman

Baron Lawrence furrowed his brows and hung up the call without even saying goodnight.

Enna Clark heard everything clearly from the side and squeezed his hand for silent comfort, ”I’m sorry, Baron. I forgot to tell you about this. I ran into her at the sanatorium that day. She said she wanted to talk to you. Then Grandpa came, and they talked about the Oscar Group. Grandpa did say that if she could make people stop, he would let you off the hook. I meant to tell you, but I forgot later on.”

Baron Lawrence suppressed the irritation brewing in his brow, pinched his tall nose, and calmed the turbulence in his heart. ”It wasn’t a big deal anyway. It’s just that hearing her voice annoys me, and I can’t control my emotions. I’m not mad at you.”

”I know,” Enna nodded, speaking softly.

He was used to acting recklessly and had developed a what-you-see-is-what-you-get personality, unlike Adam Sinclair and the others, who were skilled at pretending.

If this man was happy, he was happy; if he wasn’t, he wasn’t.

So since he said he wasn’t mad, he really wasn’t.

Enna understood his flaws, roughly comprehending why he got irritated hearing Skye Lawrence’s voice. Because from birth, his life had been at the pinnacle. The cold at the top meant there were very few people around him. Skye was one of them! But Skye’s actions betrayed the familial bond of so many years. For Baron, her betrayal must have been very difficult to bear.

Silently, Enna held his hand tighter, not chattering excessively, just standing quietly by his side...

Across from Birch Garden, at the top floor of a 9-super-large-square-meter luxurious residence in the Floral Waterfront Residential Complex, someone in a bathrobe came out of the bedroom. Taking out a bottle of expensive red wine from the wine cabinet, she poured a glass while sitting on the high chair on the balcony. Her snow-white wrist swirled the wine glass, the bright red contrasting sharply with the white skin, creating a decadent sensuality.

After letting the red wine breathe, she brought the glass to her lips, raised her head, and drank a sip.

Perhaps the rich flavor of decades-old pure wine was too overwhelming, as she choked halfway, coughing twice while covering her lips. Then she put down the glass, pulled out a lady’s cigarette from the pack, held it between her fingers, and lit half of it.

Five minutes later, her expression relaxed. Her beautiful eyes seemed to have made a decision, as she picked up the phone casually left nearby and dialed a number.

”Buzz... Buzz...”

The phone rang seven or eight times before it was picked up.

But on the other end wasn’t the phone owner’s voice, rather a lazy and charming female voice, ”Hello, are you looking for the President? Sorry, the President isn’t here. If you have something to say, I can pass on your message to the President later.”

Skye Lawrence, hearing the splashing water sound from the other side like someone was taking a bath, showed no pleasure on her elegant and beautiful face from catching someone in the act. She tapped the slender lady’s cigarette held between her fingers indifferently and rasped, ”Tell him, Mrs. Oscar is looking for him, and give him the phone now.”

The person on the other end breathed heavily, seemingly startled, and their voice became flustered, ”Madam, I... the President isn’t available to take your call right now, I... I’d better...”
