Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 3019: Chapter 3028: Just Went to Get a Glass of Water

”President Lawrence has paused the meeting and is waiting for you inside.”

Actually, the situation was far more serious than he described.

When he discovered that Enna Clark was missing, he was so frightened that he immediately informed Baron Lawrence. Afterward, the President ended the meeting abruptly with a grim face, returned to the office, and demanded that the company surveillance be brought up, instructing him to have security search for her immediately.

He was just waiting for the security personnel.

Who would have thought he’d find Enna Clark sauntering back from the break room.

After Assistant Terrence’s frightened soul returned to his body, he realized he was being too dramatic. He awkwardly explained the previous situation to Enna Clark and then sheepishly said, ”I didn’t know you went to get water, Young Madam. I thought you were missing and reported it directly to President Lawrence. He’s not in a good mood now, so Young Madam, could you help say a few words for me later?”

Enna could imagine someone’s reaction and more so knew what he was worried about. Though a bit frustrated by his making a mountain out of a molehill, she still agreed, ”Alright, got it. Leave it to me. Don’t go in just yet.”

”Thank you, Young Madam.” Assistant Terrence’s eyes lit up as he looked at her like a savior, so blatantly it made Enna a bit embarrassed. She took a deep breath, held her cup of water, and pushed open the office door.

”Baron Lawrence, do you want to drink...”

Her awkward attempt at small talk, pretending nothing happened, was cut short when the man behind the desk swirled toward her in a whirlwind, pulling her into his chest.

”Damn it, where did you run off to?”

Enna Clark’s ears almost went deaf.

She also had to be careful not to let the honey water in her hand be spilled by him, while simultaneously being suffocated by his embrace, feeling as uncomfortable as she could possibly be...

”I just went to get a cup of water...”

Baron Lawrence probably sensed her discomfort and loosened his hold on her waist, but he still clutched her arm, his handsome face stern as he spoke harshly, ”Didn’t I tell you to have Assistant Terrence accompany you if you were going out?”

His tone was rapid and anxious, indicating how worried and concerned he was earlier!

Being scolded somehow made Enna feel a sense of sweetness, which she found unbelievable, ”I didn’t see Assistant Terrence just now. I thought I was just going to the break room for a cup of water and didn’t need to interrupt your meeting, so I went by myself.”

”It wouldn’t be an interruption!” Her explanation made it seem like she only went to the break room for water. Baron’s tense jawline eased slightly, but his expression remained unpleasant as he clutched her arm tighter, enunciating slowly, ”Whatever you do, even if you’re just going to the bathroom, it’s not an interruption to me!”

Enna was speechless. Even if she’s just going to the bathroom, this analogy made it impossible for her to feel romantic.

What kind of analogy is that?

But it is just his style!

”Next time, remember to tell me; no going alone again!” God knows how worried he was when the assistant rushed over to tell him she was not in the President’s office and didn’t know where she went. At that moment, he was ready to turn the whole company upside down!

Enna herself realized she made him worry and admitted her mistake graciously, ”Okay. Next time, I’ll remember to text you.”

How was she to know he wouldn’t focus on his meeting and would even instruct Assistant Terrence to check on her in the next office every ten minutes to see what she was doing?

She happened to get a stiff neck from reading novels just during the gap when Assistant Terrence wasn’t checking, so she ran to the break room to get a cup of water...
