Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1399: Chapter 1399: If You Can’t Do It, Find Someone Else Who Can Chapter 1399: Chapter 1399: If You Can’t Do It, Find Someone Else Who Can The security was arranged by Scott Harris, who greeted Enna Clark respectfully, “Ms. Clark.”

It was starkly different from the attitude they had shown to Miranda Lewis just before.

Miranda Lewis secretly clenched her teeth, feeling aggrieved inside, but her face displayed a flattering smile, “Enna, it really is you. I didn’t believe my Manager when he said you were here. Indeed, the person beside Young Master Lawrence is you.”

“What do you want?” Enna asked, her expression remaining cold and unmoved.

With even more dissatisfaction in her heart, Miranda managed to force a smile and said, “Nothing much, I just heard from my Manager that Young Master Lawrence had arrived and that there was someone with him. I thought it was you, so I came over to check.”

She approached Enna with such enthusiasm that she almost wanted to cling to her and reached out to pull at her.

Enna Clark subtly avoided her and said indifferently, “Now that you’ve seen me, you can go back.”

Her directness left Miranda speechless, almost choking on her own words. The fake smile on her face stiffened, and after taking a deep breath, she managed to maintain her smile though it was awkward, “We haven’t seen each other in a long time, and I have so much to tell you. I wonder if you might be available.”

Seeing Miranda’s eyes continually darting into the villa, Enna knew what she was thinking. She furrowed her brows and, without giving Miranda any face, directly refused, “I’m not available.”

Now, Miranda really felt cornered and internally cursed Enna for being ungrateful. Frustrated, she said, “You don’t seem very busy, you should have time for a chat, right?”

Enna had seen thick-skinned people before, but seeing Miranda this thick-skinned and oblivious was rare. She pursed her lips, her gaze growing even colder, “No, I’m very busy! If there’s nothing else, I should be going inside.”

Seeing her about to leave, Miranda quickly called out to her, “Enna!”

Enna stopped in her tracks, as if she had anticipated that Miranda would call out to her. She turned around, her bright eyes indifferent and calm, looking at Miranda without saying a word, waiting for her to continue.

Faced with Enna’s penetrating gaze, Miranda felt exposed and awkward, but with her thick skin, she quickly adapted and said in her usual manner, “Enna, um, could you please speak to Young Master Lawrence for me about staying at this resort tonight?”

Without waiting for Enna to respond, she continued, “I have an advertisement to shoot here tomorrow, and it’s too much trouble to move back and forth. The ad is for Elysion too. Can you just mention it to Young Master Lawrence? I could stay here?”

“You know, if a woman doesn’t get good sleep, her eyes can get swollen. My body tends to swell easily, so Enna, could you please help me ask Young Master Lawrence?”

Enna waited for her to finish before speaking calmly, “If you think you can’t do the shoot, I can talk to Elysion and have them replace you.”

It wasn’t that she found Miranda unsightly; she said so purely from a professional standpoint.

Miranda Lewis was now an artist, and while an artist’s work is different from other jobs, it’s still a job.

The most important things in any profession are dedication and professionalism.

If Miranda, as an artist, couldn’t even be professional, then there was no need for her to continue in the role.

For such a high-paying job as an artist, there were plenty of people who wanted to take Miranda’s place. If she didn’t want to do it, someone else would immediately step in.

Enna Clark was speaking from an unbiased perspective, but in Miranda’s ears, it sounded like a completely different message.
