Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1385: Chapter 1385: Let Me Know When Baron Wakes Up Chapter 1385: Chapter 1385: Let Me Know When Baron Wakes Up A glint of something flitted across Old Master Lawrence’s eyes, but it quickly vanished. He appeared utterly indifferent to Nicholas Lawrence’s words, his hand resting on the head of his dragon cane without so much as a twitch of his eyebrows.

Nicholas Lawrence finally gave in to complete disappointment, not saying another word, and hung up the video call.

He had hung up the call without uttering an unnecessary word, an unprecedented situation!

After the vast drawing room returned to its former tranquility, the housekeeper bravely refilled a warm cup of water and placed it in front of him. Though he initially didn’t want to speak, he couldn’t help but urge, “Old Lord, why did you have to talk to Young Master Nicholas with that attitude just now? Actually, your intention for the First Young Lady to marry has no business motives. It seems like Young Master Nicholas has misunderstood.”

“Let him misunderstand. He just needs to know that there’s no room for turning back on this matter.”

If there had been even a hint of uncertainty in his attitude, Nicholas would certainly think he could persuade him to change his mind.

“But this might affect your relationship with Young Master Nicholas…”

“It doesn’t matter. I only care about the outcome.”

Old Master Lawrence’s expression remained cold as he stood up. It wasn’t clear if it was due to sitting too long, but he felt dizzy the moment he rose to his feet; had it not been for his cane, he might have fainted.

The housekeeper noticed his pale complexion and quickly supported him, asking with concern, “Old Lord, are you alright? What’s the matter?”

Old Master Lawrence felt dizzy for a while, but after the spell passed, he steadied himself, looking exhausted, “It’s nothing, probably just high blood pressure causing a bit of dizziness just now.”

“Old Lord, please listen to the doctor, and don’t worry about so many things anymore. Take a good rest and recuperate.”

“Alright, I know. Help me upstairs, I need to rest for a while.”

“Yes.” The housekeeper carefully assisted him upstairs.

As Old Master Lawrence ascended the stairs, he said, “Oh yes, let me know when Baron wakes up. Also, about the Westbrook Family…”

Old Master Lawrence frowned, “I remember I have a custom-made gun. Send it to Second Young Master Westbrook as a thank-you gift.”

“Alright. Rest assured and rest well, Old Lord. I’ll take care of it.”

“There’s more.” Old Master Lawrence paused, as if struggling to endure, before finally saying, “Find some people to keep a close watch on Skye.”

“The First Young Lady?” The housekeeper was taken aback, already faintly suspecting that the Young Master’s injury might be related to the First Young Lady.

The absurd conjecture he had previously dismissed resurfaced in his mind.

This time, the feeling was more intense than any before.

Could it really be as he suspected, that the First Young Lady harbored some ill will toward the Young Master…?

The housekeeper quickly buried the thought deep in his heart, not daring to entertain it any longer.

Old Master Lawrence’s eyes narrowed, his expression obscure, “Yes. Have some people watch her closely; if she does anything illogical, I want to be informed immediately.”

“Remember, I must be informed immediately! Don’t take matters into your own hands!” He didn’t want the same thing to happen again! Baron’s injury was enough of a lesson.

The housekeeper lowered his head and promptly responded, “Yes, Old Lord.”

“Alright, help me upstairs now.”

“Of course. Take it slow, Old Lord.”

Old Master Lawrence, seemingly truly exhausted, didn’t say anything more and ascended the stairs with the housekeeper’s support.
