Chapter 1389: Chapter 1389: Grasping Her Wrist in His Hand Chapter 1389: Chapter 1389: Grasping Her Wrist in His Hand Damn it!

His face turned from green to red.

Unfortunately, Enna Clark had no idea that he had regained consciousness and was just temporarily unable to open his eyes. Seeing the person on the sickbed motionless, she thought he was still in a coma.

She stretched out her hand and traced his contours in the air once more. When her gaze fell upon his pale lips, she couldn’t help but reach out, wanting to restore some color to them.

Just as her fingertip touched his lips, something unexpected happened.

The man who had been in a coma suddenly parted his thin lips and bit her fingertip.

“Hiss—” The pain shot through her as though affecting her heart.

Enna Clark gasped and reflexively withdrew her hand, only then noticing the ring of teeth marks on her index finger.

But she could no longer pay attention to the bite mark on her finger, she stood up excitedly and rushed to the bedside, overwhelmed with joy, “Baron Lawrence, are you awake?”

The man on the sickbed, whose eagle-like eyes had been opened at some point, reflected her astonished expression in his obsidian pupils as if absorbing her into them. He pursed his lips slightly, his voice a bit hoarse, “With that kind of calling, you’d wake the dead. Besides, I’m not dead!”

What does that mean?

Enna Clark had no time to ponder his words, as immense joy washed over her. Regaining her senses, she immediately said, “Wait for me, I’ll get the doctor.”

With that, she turned to run and fetch the doctor.

Enna had just turned around when her wrist was grasped by someone.

There was a muffled grunt, and she was suddenly pulled back, falling into the arms of the person on the sickbed, completely unprepared.

She was startled, her first instinct being to get up quickly.

However, before she could move, her waist was secured by someone, and the harsh voice of the person holding her scolded, “Don’t move! Enna Clark, I’m still wounded. If you don’t want to tear open my wounds, then stay still!”

“…” The previously flustered young woman froze, her back stiff, not moving an inch.

Baron Lawrence felt the soft and comfortable body in his arms and his lips imperceptibly curved into a smile. His mood improved along with it.

He had wanted to do this ever since his eyes had been closed.

Indeed, the reality of holding this woman in his arms was quite different from what he had imagined.

The person in his arms hadn’t sprayed any perfume, yet there was an exceptionally comfortable scent emanating from her, a subtle fragrance that was far more pleasant than those women who liked to douse themselves in perfume.

He really couldn’t understand why those women liked to spray themselves with perfume, making themselves smell worse than foul odors. Why couldn’t they just be like Enna Clark and not use anything at all?

The soft warmth in his arms was comforting to hold; however, if he continued to hold her, he wasn’t sure if he would still have enough self-control to manage his already tensed abdomen.

Yet, the thought of letting go of the woman in his arms made him feel unspeakably unpleasant.

Despite his displeasure, he relaxed his arms and furrowed his brows, muttering, “Too small.”

“What?” Enna Clark, still unaware he had let go, did not dare to move for fear of aggravating his wounds.

“What do you think? Where do you think the word ‘small’ applies to you?” He spoke with a biting sarcasm and dominance.

Where can ‘small’ apply…

Enna Clark’s tense nerves spun as she suddenly understood his insinuation—he was mocking her for having small breasts!

Her cheeks flushed with heat, and no longer concerned with the wounds of the man beneath her, she was about to push herself up when—at that moment—
