Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1390: Chapter 1390: Scott Harris Happened to Bump Right into It Chapter 1390: Chapter 1390: Scott Harris Happened to Bump Right into It “Ms. Clark, I’ve called the doctor over…” Scott Harris’s voice came to an abrupt halt and changed to, “I’m sorry, Ms. Clark, I didn’t know Baron had awakened, I’ll leave right away.”

Enna Clark’s cheeks turned bright red, and the tips of her ears felt so hot they almost seemed to be burning; she quickly sprang up and began to explain, “Things aren’t what you saw, I…”

Scott cut her off with a look that said ‘I know, I understand, I won’t tell’, and spoke righteously, “Don’t worry, Ms. Clark, I know the Baron has just awakened, and I can understand how you’re feeling.”

Enna Clark, “…”

Baron Lawrence rarely saw her with flushed cheeks and looking so embarrassed, so he felt in a good mood and said to Scott, “Let them in.”

Scott didn’t dare to be as casual with him as he was with Enna Clark, and immediately responded with utmost respect, “Yes, Lord.”

The doctor dressed in a white coat came in, and before entering, he glanced at Enna Clark, but quickly pretended as if nothing was amiss and shifted his gaze away.

If he hadn’t pretended as if nothing was amiss it would have been better, but acting indifferent only made it seem all the more conspicuous.

Enna Clark’s mouth was on her face, but she had the odd impression that she couldn’t clear things up.

She knew that rather than hurriedly trying to explain now, it was better to let it be, to avoid making things more muddled.

But to really let it be, she felt aggrieved.

While she was stewing in her gloom, the doctor had already performed a brief examination on the patient in the bed and removed his stethoscope to say, “Young Master Lawrence is recovering very well; this is the first time I’ve seen someone with such a strong constitution. Under normal conditions, someone with the Young Master’s injuries would only wake up by tomorrow at the earliest. It’s surprising that Young Master Lawrence woke up so swiftly.”

“How long do I need to stay?” Baron Lawrence didn’t want to hear any of this; what he was more concerned about was this question.

After thinking for a moment, the doctor said, “You need to be observed for at least three days. After three days, if the X-rays show no problems, you can be discharged. However, I still recommend resting for ten days to half a month after leaving the hospital and only returning to work once the wounds on your body have healed.”

He now knew Baron Lawrence’s identity and how every minute was precious for this man.

Thus, he didn’t issue any mandatory orders, but instead made a tactful suggestion.

“Especially the wound on your head because it’s located there; it requires even more rest and try to avoid using your brain as much as possible.”

Baron Lawrence furrowed his brows, only then noticing something seemed to be wrapped around his head. His brows furrowed so deeply they almost knotted as he squinted at the doctor, “Ten days to half a month?”

“At least ten days to half a month, otherwise, the wound may scab over but would still be very prone to splitting open again.”

Baron Lawrence’s lips tightened into a straight line, his handsome face filled with impatience.

He couldn’t possibly lie in bed for ten days to half a month. Setting other matters aside, there was still the issue of Enna Clark’s abduction that he had yet to investigate thoroughly.

If he were to stay in the hospital, it wouldn’t guarantee that the perpetrator wouldn’t strike again.

And if he wasn’t by her side when it happened, what would this woman do?

Just thinking about Enna Clark possibly facing the same danger again filled his chest with a blockage, and he began to feel unaccountably irritable. He asked the doctor, “Can it be sped up?”

The doctor’s duty was to treat and save people, not to perform magic. Taken aback by the question, the doctor paused for a moment, then said, “This… I’m afraid there’s no way to do it. The exact duration will depend on the individual’s constitution, but the ten days to half a month I mentioned is already assuming a quick recovery.”

For anyone else, he definitely would suggest a month of bed rest.

“I suggest at least a ten-day to half-month rest. Of course, if Young Master Lawrence is really very busy, you could take an hour every day to work.”
