Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1396: Chapter 1396: Lillian is actually… Chapter 1396: Chapter 1396: Lillian is actually… Lillian sat cross-legged on the sofa, removing the face mask she had applied, a glint of light appearing in her watery eyes. She suddenly stood up and asked, “Was there a woman following Young Master Lawrence? Plain-looking, with little makeup?”

Her manager busied packing her luggage and upon hearing the question, he recalled, “There seems to be someone like that, but I didn’t pay attention to what she looked like or if she was wearing makeup.”

“Is she about as tall as me, with very white skin?” Lillian pursued impatiently.

The manager thought carefully, remembering that indeed there was someone standing next to Young Master Lawrence who seemed to be about Lillian’s height, with a fair complexion too.

Uncertain, she said, “I think so.”

“Why are you asking about this, Lily?”

“I want to meet her.”

The manager thought she had misheard, “What did you say?”

“I said I want to meet Young Master Lawrence.”

Without a second thought, the manager outrightly rejected, “No! Stop making trouble. I’ve explained the pros and cons to you, why won’t you listen? I always thought you knew better, having worked hard to get where you are today. What’s gotten into you today?”

Lillian was originally not from the entertainment industry, but she got involved with a director and somehow charmed him into getting her a role as the Third Female Lead in one of his movies. Although her part was small, the director took special care of her, giving her a likable character, and that marked her official entry into the industry. Riding on the movie’s popularity, she signed with Elysion, took on many scripts, and because she was ‘sensible,’ the directors favored her, allowing her to get her share of the agency’s work resources. She didn’t become the Number One Female Star of Elysion, but she had no lack of roles to shoot, and her status was on the rise, now considered a Second Tier female artist.

When her manager was first assigned to her, she was pleased.

She liked artists who climbed up through their own efforts, finding them much easier to manage than the ones straight out of school, at least knowing what’s what and understanding their own worth.

Now she was not so sure.

Hadn’t Lillian always been obedient?

Why was she acting foolishly today when things had been stated clearly?

Forget the entertainment industry, which woman wouldn’t want to climb the towering tree that is Young Master Lawrence? But weren’t there enough rumors about Young Master Lawrence’s temper? Did she think that because she was favored among Elysion’s directors, she could grow arrogant and complacent, believing she was very beautiful? Very charming?

Charming enough to conquer Young Master Lawrence?

The manager’s expression had darkened, “Lily, if you want to have a good career in the entertainment industry, don’t overreach. Young Master Lawrence is not like Director Liu and the others. I know what you’re thinking, but I advise you, it’s best not to court death!”

Lillian had simply taken a name for her involvement in the entertainment industry.

If Enna Clark were here, she would definitely recognize this rising star of the entertainment industry, because this person was none other than—Miranda Lewis!

Originally, Miranda went abroad to study, got involved with a small-time casino boss in Yluria Country, and nearly got sold off. Michelle Lewis blackmailed Enna with her grandpa’s life, forcing Enna to bail her out. Afterward, Miranda refused to leave the hotel, trying to seduce Baron Lawrence. A series of events then unfolded; Enna was involved in a car accident, Edward Jackson came looking, and finally, Baron Lawrence left the hotel as well.

Left with no money and unwilling to return to Linton City, she gritted her teeth, worked as a hostess in the bar, got lucky to hook up with a director, signed with an agency, changed her name to Lillian, and started mingling in the entertainment industry.
