Alchemy Master

Chapter 42, Woman Disguised as a Man

Translator: Silavin

“You…” Liu Wen was about to ask Qin Yichen if he was seriously injured, but Qin Yichen, feeling guilty, spoke first, “Guildmaster, what happened just now was really an accident. I swear!”

Being caught taking advantage of someone’s Granddaughter by her Grandfather, he feared a beating was inevitable.

“What accident?” Liu Wen was completely confused, bewildered by this sudden turn of events.

However, what puzzled him was that Qin Yichen did not look like someone who had been beaten up at all.

“Uh…” Qin Yichen froze for a moment, blinked, then quickly pulled over an Apprentice, “Guildmaster, what I mean is, we were just discussing some Alchemy Technique problems that they had faced. It was not what you think you saw…”

His words sounded like heavenly music to the ears of the despairing Apprentices. Immediately, a series of incredulous gazes fell upon Qin Yichen.

[This guy is actually speaking up for us!?]

“Haha, everyone, I apologise but I’m quite tired today. Let’s continue our discussion another day.” Qin Yichen winked at them, eager to leave this troublesome place as soon as possible. He just did not know if Liu Wen would come to the Li Family to find him once he learns of the truth…

“Uh… since the Master is tired, we’ll seek your guidance another day.”

“Thank you, thank you…”

These Apprentices were stunned for a moment, then looked at Qin Yichen with grateful eyes.

At this moment, they had completely forgotten about Qin Yichen taking advantage of their Goddess. Their eyes were filled with tears of gratitude as they thought, [What a good man! This is what it means to repay evil with kindness. This is what it means to have grace! This is what it means to be a kind man!!]

Liu Wen frowned, seeing how Qin Yichen was covering for these Apprentices. However, since Qin Yichen himself had said so, he naturally had to give Qin Yichen some face and pretend he had not seen anything.

Although Qin Yichen was just an ordinary Alchemy Master now, what about in the future?

Glancing at his Granddaughter who had already run off, Liu Wen remembered why he came and said to Qin Yichen, who was preparing to leave, “Come with me for a moment.”

“Huh?” Qin Yichen immediately looked distressed, following behind him with trepidation.

“Go in.” After arriving at the top floor, Liu Wen turned around.

Qin Yichen narrowed his eyes, his expression returning to normal. After a moment, he walked into the room.

As he expected, there was indeed someone waiting for him inside. [Judging by Liu Wen’s attitude, this person’s status is likely above that of his. Above that of the Guildmaster of the Spreading Cloud City Alchemy Guild? It must be someone from the Royal City!]

When the person inside turned around, Qin Yichen immediately noticed the Medal on their chest. It was engraved with three silver-white patterns.

[A Third Grade Alchemy Master! In the entire Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty, there aren’t many Third Grade Alchemy Masters. Judging from this person’s age and delicate features, it must be… Zhou Tianwei! She must be that legendary woman!]

Zhou Tianwei had limited Spiritual Energy talent, but she possessed extraordinary ability to identify medicinal herbs, thus she created many new formulas. In the future, she would leave a deep mark.

However, she had hailed from a painful background…

The Zhou Family favoured boys over girls, almost to a twisted degree. As a woman, she had dressed as a man since childhood. Who could understand the pain she felt?

After her true identity was revealed by someone with ulterior motives, the once high and mighty genius was brought down from the clouds. The Zhou Family, fearing a woman would be in charge of it, cruelly made her shatter her own Divine Soul Bead. Having lost all her cultivation, she left the Zhou Family. Years later, she rose like a comet, her name passing down in history.

*Phew…* Qin Yichen let out a light breath, making a decision.

“So you’re Qin Yichen?” Zhou Tianwei(周天微), using the alias Zhou Tianwei(周天卫), came before him, looking him up and down.

She really could not see anything extraordinary about this young man before her which could allow him to accomplish such incredible feats.

Genius? That word was no longer enough to describe him.

Prodigy? He could not be measured by common sense!

“Qin Yichen greets the Master.” Qin Yichen bowed to her in a proper manner.

Of course, she was absolutely worthy of his bow. Although she had died early due to losing her cultivation and excessive grief, the formulas she left behind had a long-lasting influence on the world of Alchemy.

“Zhou Tianwei of the Zhou Family from the Royal City.” Zhou Tianwei still used her alias, while her delicate face showed the heroic spirit of a man.

“The young are to be feared. I never thought that at such a young age, you would have such attainments. Truly extraordinary.” She did not mention the qualification test. Even if she still had some doubts in her heart, after seeing Qin Yichen in person, those doubts completely disappeared.

Everything could be faked, but a person’s bearing absolutely could not be faked.

In the Royal City, even royalty and noble children would tremble before her, but the young man before her did not show the slightest reaction upon seeing her Medal.

This bearing was not something an ordinary person could possess.

“I won’t beat around the bush. The reason I came to find you is very simple. Qin Yichen, how about becoming my Disciple?”

Zhou Tianwei’s lips curved into a smile as she asked.

She believed that in the entire kingdom, not a single person would turn down this offer.

She was undoubtedly the genius of the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty, with the potential to surpass Master Gu Ye. The youths in the Royal City fought against each other to become her nominal disciple. However, she was not interested in such things.

After she spoke, Liu Wen, who was at the door, could not help but draw in a sharp breath. He looked at Qin Yichen with envy.

Being older did not necessarily mean being more knowledgeable. Zhou Tianwei was the perfect example of this. Zhou Tianwei had surpassed him in every aspect.

The reason was simple: the resources she had access to were beyond Liu Wen’s imagination. If Liu Wen wanted to gain more resources, he would have to take a step forward… which was to go to the Royal City!

“Your Disciple?” Qin Yichen’s expression was a bit strange.

He was just thinking about taking her as his Disciple but she beat him to it.

Rubbing his nose bridge, Qin Yichen’s face looked a bit awkward.

“What are you standing there for? Hurry up and agree! *Ahem!* Master Zhou Tianwei is the personal Disciple of Master Gu Ye. If you become his Disciple, you might even get to meet Master Gu Ye!” Seeing him standing there without speaking, Liu Wen anxiously reminded. In his view, if Qin Yichen agreed, it would be equivalent to ascending to Heaven in a single step.

“Become her Disciple?” Qin Yichen shook his head, secretly thinking to himself, [Even her Master, Gu Ye, doesn’t have the qualifications to be my Disciple. In fact, in this world, there is most likely no one who is qualified to teach me Alchemy. My knowledge and attainments are beyond their imagination.]

Of course, he could not say that out loud, so he just casually found an excuse, “I’m sorry, but I already have a Master, so please forgive me for not being able to accept your offer.”

He could only bring up his non-existent Master.

“You already have a Master?” The look of surprise in Zhou Tianwei’s eyes disappeared in an instant, and then she seemed to be lost in thought. [That’s true. If no one had taught him, how could he have reached this level?]
