Alchemy Master

Chapter 9, The Lin Family’s Secret

When Qin Yichen came out of his room, he felt that the atmosphere in the courtyard was off.

“Father, Uncle Lin.” Coming to the hall and seeing Lin Aotian with deeply furrowed brows, Qin Yichen was even more certain that something must have happened.

After getting an explanation, he learned that Lin Aotian actually had quite the background. He was actually the only biological Son of the Lin Family Patriarch, of one of the three Major Families in the provincial capital.

The Lin Family Patriarch, Lin Mang, had two Sons. The Eldest, who was also his Adopted Son, Lin Aoqing, was exceptionally talented and outstanding in all aspects, deeply favoured by him. While the Second Son, who was his Biological Son, Lin Aotian, seemed very mediocre without any exceptional aspects.

Over a decade ago, Lin Aotian caused a huge disaster and was expelled from the family by Old Master Lin in a fit of rage. After many twists and turns, he finally settled down in Jade Creek City.

“Lin Aoqing?” Qin Yichen frowned.

He was quite familiar with Lin Aoqing. He was a ruthless character. Back then, when he went to the provincial capital, Lin Aoqing was already the Lin Family Patriarch.

Logically speaking, no matter how outstanding Lin Aoqing was, Old Master Lin shouldn’t have passed the position of Family Patriarch to an outsider, unless… Old Master Lin had no choice but to do so!

[Could it be that those people back then weren’t hired by the Zhuang Family, but sent by Lin Aoqing!?] Qin Yichen seemed to understand many things.

Speaking of which, although the Zhuang Family had a competitive relationship with Lin Aotian, they didn’t have that deep hatred between the two. It wasn’t worth it for them to spend that price to drive Lin Aotian to desperation.

The only one with this motive and capability was Lin Aoqing! After all, as long as Lin Aotian died, the position of Lin Family Patriarch would be his.

“No, we can’t stay in Jade Creek City anymore. We must leave immediately!” Thinking of his Older Brother’s personality, Lin Aotian could not sit still.

Seeing his reaction, Qin Yichen was even more certain of his guess.

Back then, although Lin Aotian’s medicine shop couldn’t continue, it wasn’t to the point of being unable to gain a foothold. But one day, Lin Aotian panicked and decided to leave Jade Creek City with his Family, only to encounter an assassination attempt while attempting to escape.

Although the timeline had been pushed earlier, it was very likely that the influence of the Qi Recovery Liquid attracted Lin Aoqing’s people to Jade Creek City, and they accidentally discovered Lin Aotian!

“Uncle Lin, don’t need to worry.” Qin Yichen spoke up. After a pause, he said, “If we leave now, I’m afraid it will be too late. Lin Aoqing’s people will be waiting outside the city. If we leave the city now, it would be equivalent to throwing ourselves into their net!”

“In that case…” Lin Aotian seemed a bit hesitant.

“Moreover, I heard that Old Master Lin is seriously ill now. Uncle Lin, you don’t believe that your Older Brother is here to bring you back to be the Lin Family’s next Patriarch, right?” Qin Yichen solemnly reminded. He didn’t want the tragedy to happen again.

Hearing this, Lin Aotian’s face changed.

Back then, the crime he committed was actually something Lin Aoqing intentionally made him do. He trusted his Older Brother, but who knew he would cause a huge disaster. And Lin Aoqing, instead of standing by his side, slandered him for acting on his own and being unable to persuade him.

In view of this, it was obviously Lin Aoqing deliberately framed him.

After going to great lengths to drive him out of the Lin Family, would Lin Aoqing be so kind-hearted?

“Haaaaa…” Lin Aotian let out a long sigh and sat on a chair. His entire being seemed to have suddenly aged a lot.

Qin Yichen knew that regardless of whether they left Jade Creek City or not, they would be in danger.

“It seems necessary to make a trip to Treasure Pavilion.” His eyes narrowed. After preparing in the Alchemy Room, he walked out the door.

Behind the Treasure Pavilion was the Li Family, one of the three Major Families in the provincial capital, Spreading Cloud City. If they could obtain the Li Family’s protection, naturally they wouldn’t need to fear Lin Aoqing.

Li Hu had been busy these past few days. But before he could sit down, someone came to report that Qin Yichen had arrived. He instantly perked up, personally went to greet him, and invited him to the VIP room.

He didn’t dare to underestimate this youth in the slightest.

“I need the Li Family’s protection!” After sitting down, Qin Yichen got straight to the point.

“Huh?” Li Hu did not quite understand.

“It’s like this…” With that, Qin Yichen roughly explained Lin Aotian’s situation.

“Lin Aotian is actually the Second Young Master of the Lin Family?!” Li Hu was quite shocked. But at the same time, his brows deeply frowned.

He had heard that the seriously ill Old Master Lin had long stopped being involved in Family matters. The current Lin Family was basically completely controlled by Lin Aoqing. Most likely, even if Lin Aotian was safely sent to the provincial city, he definitely wouldn’t be able to see Old Master Lin!

Most importantly, if the Treasure Pavilion intervened now, wouldn’t that be equivalent to offending the Lin Family?

To be honest, he was only from a branch of the Li Family, not part of the Main Family. He had no say in the Li Family’s matters, so he couldn’t make this decision on his own.

“These are two bottles of different Medicinal Liquids. Pass them on to those in charge of the Li Family. As long as they agree to my conditions, I will send their formulas.” Qin Yichen placed two bottles of Medicinal Liquid on the table, completely confident.

“Oh?” Li Hu’s eyes lit up. He curiously asked, “May I know what effects these two Medicinal Liquids have?”

“One of them is a Healing Liquid, the same category as the Qi Recovery Liquid.” With just this short sentence, Li Hu instantly sucked in a breath of cold air.

The current healing medicines had a fatal weakness, which was that the medicinal effect took too long. They worked even slower than the original Qi Recovery Liquid. Even so, some people still used it. Typically, it would only be used under fatal circumstances. One had to take the risk to survive. Still, no matter how small the chances, having that small chance made it worth a limb.

Therefore, the price of healing medicines have always been high.

However, if healing medicines could take effect within a few dozen seconds, and be used together with the improved Qi Recovery Liquid…  Li Hu couldn’t help taking a deep breath.

It was a priceless treasure!

With the combination of these two Medicinal Liquids, once launched, they would definitely become essential precious medicines for all Martial Artists to keep at home!

Before Li Hu could finish being surprised, Qin Yichen stated the effect of the second Medicinal Liquid, “The other bottle has the effect of increasing one’s Qi. Once a Martial Artist takes it, they can immediately burst out twice their strength. The limit is that it only lasts for five minutes. After five minutes, they have to lie down for at least a few months.”

To obtain the Li Family’s protection, Qin Yichen took out two concoctions that didn’t exist in this era.

However, this Qi Bursting Pill was undoubtedly the lowest Grade among the Pills he knew, and it also had side effects. However, even with its side effects, this Pill, placed in the current era, was definitely a life-saving divine medicine that was a strong must have!

Bursting out twice their usual strength was enough to change many things.

Li Hu was dumbfounded.

When two people of the same realm and strength fought, if someone suddenly burst out with twice their strength, the result would be obvious!

This was a divine medicine!

If the Li Family could obtain the formula for this medicine, there would be a chance for it to further advance!
