THE GOD EATER

To help the Four Directions Sect win, he has to kill all of the rank 4 cultivators from the other four sects or take the symbol of authority of this world. The world guardians will prevent the symbol of authority from being taken, so he will have to kill them, too.

On the other side, in order to win, the world guardians will have to kill all of the rank 5 cultivators from the five sects. So his actions of causing the death of 7 rank 5 cultivators out of the total 15 are actually helping the world guardians to protect their world.

But when he thought about it, he felt no remorse for what he did. He shrugged and said, “What can I say? I needed the merit points. They were also weak. So it is their fault for dying.”

“If there is one rank 5 cultivator that I regret killing, it is that death cultivator. But her death also means that I will have fewer competitors for the title of the most useful soldier.”

Killing that death cultivator had brought him nearly no benefit. Not only had he not gained any merit points for killing her, but he had also been saddled with enough debt to keep him enslaved to the Four Directions Sect forever and ever.

If not for the fact that she was a top contender for the title of most useful soldier, killing her would have been a total loss. However, it would have still been worth it to kill her because she was never going to let him go and because she knew too much about him.

While he doesn’t feel much regret for killing those other rank 5 cultivators, it is true that he is actually helping the world guardians. It is also true that if he doesn’t want the world guardians to win, he has to prevent more rank 5 cultivators from dying.

When he thought of how the rank 5 money cultivator had easily killed 3 rank 5 cultivators in the last timeline and how the manifestation of the hammer that the rank 5 deceiver was pretending to be had disappeared, he realized that preventing more rank 5 cultivators from dying would be a tall order.

He rubbed his head and said to himself, ’What now? Am I supposed to babysit the rank 5 cultivators? That would be absurd.’

’Plus the 7 that I know are dead, the three that were probably killed by the rank 5 money cultivator, and the missing rank 5 deceiver, that makes 11 out of 15 rank 5 cultivators that are dead. Things are actually very bad for us. It seems I really need to take the fight to the world guardians as soon as possible.’

After he realized that he was actually in danger of losing, he sped up towards the city.

To be fair, most rank 5 cultivators don’t kill each other so easily, even if they are from different sects. It is only the people from the Four Directions Sect and the Sword Way Sect who like to kill or her rank 5 cultivators.

The people from the Four Directions Sect mainly kill for merit points. But they also kill for body parts, which they can use to cultivate or sell for money.

As for the Sword Way Sect, they also like to kill for merit points. Both the good white-robed swordsmen and the evil black-robed swordsmen have reasons to kill the people from the Four Directions Sect.

The good swordmen want to kill the people from the Four Directions Sect to rid the world of evil, while their evil counterparts just want to kill for killing’s sake.

The more killing cultivators kill, the higher their Dao Status will become and the more merit points they will earn. So the people of the Four Directions Sect aren’t the only targets for killing cultivators. Everyone is a viable target for killing.

This made him say, “That’s probably why that swordsman and the killer were working together to hunt that rank 5 forger.”

Then he snorted and said, “Both sects like to kill for merit points. Like father, like son. If I ever doubted that the Sword Way Sect came from the Four Directions Sect, I don’t doubt it anymore.”

While Loki was looking for guardians, the world was in turmoil everywhere.

People were causing trouble everywhere, and the peace and stability of the small world had been turned upside down. The rank 5 forger was one of the people causing trouble.

Went looking for the deceiver pretending to be her. But she didn’t approach him in the normal way.

Instead of walking up to him to chat or fight, she stopped at some distance from the fake manifestation of her Life Ability and flew into the air.

She flew high up into the air as if she wanted to leave this world through the sky. Indeed, she didn’t stop until she reached the limit of the sky and couldn’t go any further.

After gaining as much height as she could, she looked down at the fake manifestation. When she saw that she was off by some distance, she flew some distance forward to position herself right above the fake manifestation.

She made a few more adjustments to make sure that her position was just right. The next thing she did was to create a large black hammer in her hand. Then she stopped expending energy to levitate.

Her refusal to spend energy to keep levitating meant that gravity took hold of her and pulled her to the ground. So she began to fall.

As she fell freely, she channeled all of her energy and power into the hammer. She was expending energy to maintain the potential energy of the hammer at the limit of the sky.

So even though she was falling and the height of the hammer was reducing, the potential energy of the hammer remained constant at what it should be at the limit of the sky. The only thing that was reducing was her energy.
