THE GOD EATER

The sound of his voice in her mind was like an echo that was getting louder and louder. It led to the creation of many waves in the fog of her mind that smashed any opposing waves apart.

At first, she couldn’t make up her mind because she thought that it sounded like a bad idea to help the Four Directions Sect. But after thinking about it for a while longer, the idea made more and more sense to her.

So she said to her, “That’s what I should do. I should uphold the precepts of fairness and justice for my Dao Heart.”

With her mind made up, she went over to pick up her flying sword.

As she got close to the sword, it flew over to her. When it got close to her, she jumped up and landed on the sword. Then she flew away in the direction of the golden cloud.

Her face was stern, and her eyes were full of determination as she flew through the air towards her destination. There was no doubt in her heart about what she was going to do there. If there was any doubt, it was quickly smothered by the deep conviction of her inner voice.

As she flew through the air, images of what she would do when she got to her destination flashed through her. They were like an unending torrent of affirmation and encouragement. So by the time she reached her destination, she was already riled up.

When she got to her destination, she saw a group of people from the Four Directions Sect fighting a band of people from the other four sects.

Actually, it was an army from the Four Directions Sect. There were thousands of them, so they could only be called an army. So despite being besieged by everyone, the Four Directions Sect actually outnumbered their enemies.

This situation was because the death cultivators had brought out an army of corpses, the beast masters were controlling a myriad assortment of beasts in great numbers, the human slavers were forcefully enslaving their enemies, and the Mind Hunters were also forcefully taking control of the bodies of their enemies and turning them against the others.

Even the forgers were showing up with great numbers of helpers. Each forger had puppets and golems to fight for them. And if they didn’t have puppets and golems, they had mechs with a lot of guns, rockets, and enough firepower to take on an army on their own.

The more she looked, the more it became obvious that the Four Directions Sect was winning. And the more she noticed that the Four Directions Sect was winning despite being besieged, the more she realized that the other four sects wouldn’t be able to stand a chance against the Four Directions Sect if they didn’t gang up on the Four Directions Sect together.

It was becoming clearer and clearer that banding together to fight the Four Directions Sect isn’t bullying, and that banding together is actually their only chance of victory.

This realization was further confirmed when she saw the rank 5 cultivator of the Four Directions Sect fighting the rank 5 cultivators of the other sects. This money cultivator was being besieged by three other cultivators of equal rank, but she still looked relaxed.

The golden blond-haired cultivator looked at the enemy before her, a giant of the Martial Body Sect, and said, “What is the value of your life?”

She wasn’t just asking the question to make conversation. She had actually activated her Life Ability, Life’s Worth, with that question. So even though the giant didn’t reply, she got her answer.

The value of the life of the giant appeared above his head in golden numbers. She saw 91,283,917 energy stones written clearly above his head.

After seeing this, she said, “Not bad. I am willing to pay for it.”

As soon as she said that, 91,283,917 energy stones were deducted from her account. In exchange, the giant slumped and died.

He died just like that. There were no signs or visible effects. His eyes simply dimmed, and he fell from the sky dead.

The other two rank 5 cultivators felt a chill overwhelm them when they saw this. They immediately chose to run.

But she laughed and said, “Where are you going? Since you are here, you can only let me pay for your life.”

She didn’t chase after the two fleeing enemies, though. She simply looked at them, evaluated their life, and decided if they were worth the price or not.

After a few seconds of thinking, she decided that the money to kill them would be worth the price, so paid the money for their life. The two fleeing rank 5 cultivators immediately dropped dead from the sky.

She killed three rank 5 cultivators just like that. She didn’t appear to have strained herself at all.

She was leisurely as she went to collect the corpses of the dead enemies. From what Loki could see, she even had a smile on her face.

That creepy smile on her face made Loki say in awe, “This is the power of money. No wonder she suggested manifesting her Life Ability and broadcasting it to everyone. She is confident in her strength. Or in this case, she is confident in her money.”

“She doesn’t care about attracting enemies to her position at all. In fact, the more enemies she acquires, the better it will be for her.”

He has used the Power Identification Ability on her before, so he knows what her Life Ability is capable of. So he knows that she had paid a hefty price to kill her enemies so effortlessly.

But he believes that the hefty price is worth it because rank 5 flesh, blood, bones, and souls are non-existent in the market. So if she sells the corpses of the rank 5 people, she will earn more than she spent to kill them.

This arrangement makes it so that she isn’t wasting money to kill those people at all. What she is doing is investing money with a guarantee on returns on her investment, which will make her more inclined to invest money in killing people.
