The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

At 1 PM, a business car smoothly drove towards the police headquarters gate.

At this time, most people are resting, but there are two figures prominently standing at the hall entrance.

Mr. Wang and Political Commissioner Li from the Criminal Investigation Team stood side by side, seeming to await someone important.

As the vehicle slowly approached, less than a hundred meters from the gate, Director Hou, sitting in the passenger seat, suddenly raised his hand, signaling driver Li to stop.

He squinted towards the entrance, a tightness rising in his heart: were both leaders waiting for someone?

Driver Li also noticed the array at the entrance and spoke in a low voice: ”Director Hou, Mr. Wang and Political Commissioner Li are both out here, this is quite a setup. They’re probably not waiting specifically for us, right?”

Director Hou said: ”We aren’t that important, let’s not intrude, it wouldn’t be good to disturb the leaders if they’re doing something important. Shall we go in through the back door?”

Hearing these words, driver Li responded, skillfully turning the wheel.

The business car slowly turned into the right-side lane, preparing to head towards the side door at the back.

Unexpectedly, less than 10 seconds after turning the corner, Director Hou’s phone rang.

The name on the screen made him pause—it was Mr. Wang.

He quickly answered the call, and a bright, cheerful voice with a hint of laughter came through: ”Hello, Director Hou, what’s going on?”

”Political Commissioner Li and I are standing here at noon, and you’re turning around when you see us?”

Director Hou quickly explained: ”Mr. Wang, truly sorry!”

”We saw you two at the entrance and thought you were waiting for other leaders, afraid to disturb you, so we were planning to sneak in through the back door to avoid interrupting your business...”

Mr. Wang laughed heartily: ”There’s no need to overthink!”

”We’re waiting for you! You’ve made such a major contribution this time, giving our Criminal Investigation Team quite a face. Commissioner Li and I didn’t take a break today to personally welcome you distinguished contributors! Turn around quickly, enter through the main door!”

Upon hearing these words, Director Hou’s heartbeat suddenly thundered like a drum, he could almost hear his pulse resonate in his ears.

You must know, having both team leaders give up their lunch break to specially welcome you at the entrance is an honor he never dared to imagine before.

Not to mention someone like him as a director-level official, even bureau chiefs from city districts visiting for work reports might not receive such a treatment.

After hanging up the phone, Director Hou felt a bit flushed, but warmth blossomed in his heart.

He waved to driver Li: ”Turn around, head to the main entrance. The leaders are here to receive us.”

Immediately, Director Hou turned around, speaking with a tone full of emotion and excitement: ”Jiang An, your influence this time is really impressive! Both major leaders of our team came out personally to welcome us.”

”Oh?” Jiang An smiled upon hearing, ”Director Hou, I’m benefiting from being with you.”

”Perhaps the leaders felt our mission performance was decent this time, which reflects upper management’s concern and emphasis on us.”

”In any case, this truly is a rare honor worth cherishing.”

The vehicle quickly turned around, reaching near the team gates in less than two minutes.

As soon as it stopped, Director Hou and Jiang An quickly opened the doors to get out, and the driver immediately followed from the driver’s seat.

The three of them briskly walked forward.

Mr. Wang greeted them warmly with smiles, shaking hands with each one, his voice loud and filled with praise: ”Oh, Director Hou, Jiang An, welcome back.”

”Everyone worked hard at the front, achieving outstanding results, especially with the major case just solved. Commissioner Li and I were extremely shocked after the report—well done, really well done!”

At this moment, Political Commissioner Li also stepped forward with a serious expression, saying: ”This case was one I personally looked into in the early stages, you could say the situation was extremely complex and difficult, compounded by the long time span, relevant clues nearly lost in time.”

”Under such circumstances, prying open the suspect’s mouth to obtain crucial confessions was incredibly challenging.”

”To be honest, I didn’t hold much hope beforehand, yet didn’t expect you to overcome it all at once—truly no easy feat, incredible!”

Before his words were finished, a genuine smile broke across his face as he quickly raised a thumb.

Next, Political Commissioner Li turned his gaze towards the driver standing beside, speaking gently: ”Li, this journey was tough on you too, accompanying them everywhere, ensuring everything.”

Driver Li immediately straightened his back upon hearing, solemnly saluting, responding with a sincere and slightly shy smile: ”Commissioner, please don’t say that, I thank the organization for giving me this opportunity.”

”Honestly, going out once not only earns some travel allowance—this is true, the most important thing is the learning and insight, more valuable than anything!”

Amidst the discussion, Political Commissioner Li and Mr. Wang both unconsciously turned their gazes towards Jiang An standing beside.

The two exchanged a smile filled with appreciation and warmth.

Looking at the young officer before them, they increasingly admired him.

Initially sending him to the front line was to hope for his training, unexpectedly he not only resolved his ”Easy to Break” case smoothly but even found breakthroughs in those long-standing, seemingly unsolvable difficult cases.

These cases were almost regarded as ”closed cases” in their years of police experience, yet in Jiang An’s hands, they saw light again, truly achieving resolution.
