The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 501: Chapter 286: White Bone’s Identity (Part 2)

As they talked, Captain Li Jian’s expression was very serious.

As a captain of criminal investigation, his ability to solve cases is naturally not low.

Furthermore, during the investigation of this case, he has gained many insights and experiences.

If past cases were merely difficult problems, then this case is an additional question.

The difficulty of the case far surpasses any previous case he has worked on.

The girl across from him nodded and said, ”Captain, I will immediately send a letter to the municipal public security bureau next door, asking them to dispatch professionals to assist us in psychological testing assessment.”

”Good, thank you for your hard work.”

Then, he turned his head and said, ”If there is anything in the team today, call me, I need to go to Jiangcheng City Mental Hospital this morning to retrieve some data and pathology materials.”

”Understood! Captain.”

”Rest assured, I will definitely hold the rear firmly, feel free to conduct your investigation.”

Subsequently, Captain Li Jian nodded, ”Then I’m off.”

At this time, Mr. Fu had already driven to the electronics factory.

Visiting Jiangcheng Electronics Factory for the second time, he was evidently more familiar with it than the first time.

They parked the police car outside the wall and went straight to the general manager’s office of the Human Resources Department.

The general manager looked a bit surprised to see Mr. Fu come over, then walked up and asked, ”Mr. Fu, do you need further investigation?”

Mr. Fu nodded, ”Of course there is a need for further investigation.”

”Otherwise, we would not be here disturbing you today!”

”However, today we are not looking for Li Lei, but Wang Shuang.”

”Oh! Wang Shuang?”

The general manager’s face showed a hint of terror as he froze there!

”Although this person tends to have a sharp tongue, his work has been decent, and he has never been involved in fights or other bad behaviors.”

”Of course, there are minor faults but nothing that breaks the law or discipline.”

Mr. Fu quickly waved his hand.

”General Manager, please don’t make wild guesses.”

”Today we are investigating Wang Shuang, not to look for his crimes, but to understand the situation of his wife who went missing over a decade ago.”

”Oh! Is there news about his missing wife now?”

Mr. Fu gently shook his head.

”No!”

”We are merely trying to investigate further.”

The general manager nodded after hearing this, ”That is indeed a good thing.”

”Although he is remarried now, that wife remains a mystery.”

”At that time, when he first joined our factory, our factory leaders contacted the public security department multiple times hoping to increase police efforts to conduct investigations.”

”However, after a long investigation, it was left unresolved.”

”You know, back then surveillance technology wasn’t as advanced as it is now, so many things couldn’t be effectively documented.”

Mr. Fu mused, ”Since that person has been missing for so long, why was there no case filed for investigation at the end?”

The general manager smiled and said, ”We need to see the person alive, see the body dead.”

”Although she disappeared, without finding the body, there wasn’t a way to file a case. It ultimately went unresolved.”

”But today suddenly bringing up this matter, I find it very surprising.”

Ten minutes later, Wang Shuang was called to the office by the general manager.

At this moment, besides the general manager, Mr. Fu and two other police officers were sitting in the office.

Upon seeing the general manager, Wang Shuang appeared a bit tense.

Then Mr. Fu glanced at him and asked in a low voice, ”Do you feel uneasy when seeing the police?”

”Wang Shuang hurriedly waved his hand: ”Not really, it’s just the first time facing the police directly, I feel a bit pressured.”

”Don’t worry, we’re not here to cause you trouble, we want to understand the circumstances of your ex-wife’s disappearance.”

Hearing this, it seemed as if a heavy stone had fallen from Wang Shuang’s heart completely.

Then he opened up and spoke in a deep voice, ”You mean her!”

”So many years have passed already.”

”I know you police have also made a lot of efforts, but the person was never found.”

”Later on, how did the police station respond to you?”

Wang Shuang shrugged helplessly and said, ”What else could they say?”

”They told me they have been investigating, but neither the person nor the body was found.”

”Two weeks later, I couldn’t wait any longer and went looking myself and with relatives and friends.”

”However, we still couldn’t find her!”

”Oh, you got remarried?”

”Yes, I couldn’t wait forever for someone to return.”

”Then I want to ask, was there anything unusual when she suddenly disappeared?”

Hearing this, Wang Shuang fell into recollection.

”I remember the weather was cloudy that day, and there was nothing unusual when Du Yao left the house.”

”We had breakfast that morning, she said she was going to a market to buy some things.”

”At that time, our home was quite far from the town, about ten kilometers on foot to reach the town to buy things.”

”But unexpectedly, her setout that morning turned out to be a farewell forever.”

”Under normal circumstances, she’d be back from the town in half a day.”

”But she didn’t return by evening that day.”

”At that time, I reported it to the police.”

”The police also investigated several places with me, but ultimately found nothing.”

”Was there any other road besides that one at the time?”

”Yes!”

”We searched as well.”

”But the road she frequented most passed through a mountain.”

”The mountain road is quite steep, and there were no streetlights.”

”At that time, we searched in the dark, and during the day too, and I searched several times.”

”Along the way, we found nothing unusual.”

Hearing this, Mr. Fu quickly noted down the crucial information.

Then he asked, ”Did you suspect she might have died when she suddenly disappeared?”

Wang Shuang’s mouth twitched, he smiled bitterly and said, ”How could I not suspect?”

”But you know, alive needs to see the person, dead needs to see the corpse.”

”Without the body, death couldn’t be confirmed.”

”Later on, their police station contacted many more officers, conducting a comprehensive search of the entire mountain.”

”But they never found Du Yao.”

After a slight pause, Wang Shuang shook his head and said, ”Not even a corpse.”

”Not even bones or her shoulder bag were found.”

”What do you think now?” Mr. Fu asked.

”I now have two possibilities in mind, one is she might have been murdered, the other is she might have been trafficked.”

”In those years, women were prone to being trafficked, but I can’t understand, even if she was trafficked, why she hasn’t returned after so many years?”

”Could there have been some kind of accident during the trafficking?”

At this point, Wang Shuang’s expression turned serious.

Then he looked up and asked, ”Why?”

”Why did you suddenly bring this up today, do you have any clues?”

Upon hearing this question, Mr. Fu turned to look at the two police officers beside him.

All three of them showed expressions of slight reluctance.

Eventually, Mr. Fu gathered the courage and said solemnly, ”Regarding your wife’s disappearance, I believe the public security organs must have made many efforts too.

”But no clues were found.”

”I think... is there a possibility that she has already passed away?”

”So today we came, both to understand the situation and also to ask if you and she had any children?”

”No, we didn’t have a child, we were only in the second year of marriage.”

”Is her mother and father still alive?”

”Her parents are still alive.”

”Alright, please accompany us to her parents’ house to collect their blood samples for genetic testing.”

What? Genetic testing?”

”Did you find any clues?”

Mr. Fu’s gaze was heavy as he said in a deep voice, ”We discovered a female corpse, but it’s an unidentified White Bone.”
