The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 509: Chapter 290: Physical Defect! (Part 2)

At the entrance of the office building, he hesitated a bit, suddenly feeling as if his feet were weighed down with dumbbells.

At this moment, he was contemplating how exactly to report to Mr. Ma.

Seeing Captain Li looking worried, Jiang An stepped forward, ”Captain, we still haven’t found three of the bodies. Do you think we should immediately interrogate Li Lei to get him to tell us where the other three bodies are?”

Li Jian nodded, ”That’s the only way.”

”This case has a huge impact, and it will likely be reported to the provincial department and the Ministry of Public Security.”

”We must do our work ahead of time and give it our all.”

”When it’s time for the interrogation, you will go in with me.”

Jiang An was very surprised to hear this, ”I’m participating in the interrogation?”

Bear in mind, before this, every major case was personally handled by Captain Li and Captain Fu as leaders.”

Sometimes, Mr. Ma would even take part in the interrogation himself.

Moreover, this case involves seven lives.

For a moment, Jiang An couldn’t believe his ears.

At that moment, Jiang An turned to look at the other officers standing nearby.

Everyone was looking at him with eager hope on their faces.

Captain Fu even raised his hand to pat him on the shoulder, saying, ”Brother Jiang An, believe in yourself, you have the ability.”

minutes later, inside the interrogation room.

Less than an hour had passed since Li Lei was captured.

As soon as Li Jian and Jiang An pushed the door open and entered, Li Lei raised an eyebrow.

He said angrily, ”What?”

”Can I go home and sleep now?”

”Go home? Sleep?” Jiang An countered, ”Are you daydreaming?”

”Considering all the bad things you’ve done, shouldn’t you be thinking about turning yourself in?”

Li Lei’s mouth twitched, ”I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m innocent.”

”Besides, I have some understanding of the law.”

”If you detain me for more than 24 hours, I will file a complaint against you, so don’t blame me later.”

”Complain?”

”Go complain! I’m not afraid of you at all.”

Li Jian paused a little and said in a deep voice, ”However, I advise you to be rational.”

”We have found crucial evidence so far.”

”Evidence? What evidence?”

Li Jian’s mouth twitched, ”But before I present the evidence, I want to, as with any suspect, give you a chance to admit all your crimes.”

”Crimes? What crimes? I’m not guilty.”

Li Lei looked disdainful, ”How could I, a good citizen, commit a crime?”

”Besides, I don’t know the four girls you mentioned, I have nothing to do with them.”

”I don’t know them either, nor do I know who killed them.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Jiang An took the opportunity to press on, ”Li Lei, let me correct you, it’s not four girls, it’s seven.”

”Four plus three equals seven, such a simple math problem, don’t you know it?”

Hearing this, a flash of panic crossed Li Lei’s face.

He couldn’t possibly have missed that they didn’t just guess that number.

Immediately, Li Lei looked at Jiang An, standing beside him.

Jiang An continued, ”You are a smart person, and you’ve done many smart things in the past.”

”Of course, you are very capable, but unfortunately, you didn’t use that intelligence in the right place.”

Upon hearing this, Li Lei’s face changed.

”The thatched cottage in the mountains is decorated very neatly, and the items in the cellar are arranged very orderly...”

As soon as he finished speaking, Li Lei across from him became agitated, quickly tapping the small table before him, ”What?”

”What did you find?”

Li Jian sneered, ”What did we find?”

”We’ve found what we need to find.”

”Even if you don’t say anything, we’ll still form a complete chain of evidence.”

Hearing this, Li Lei instantly deflated like a balloon.

He slumped back, looking helpless.

After a long silence, he looked up and asked, ”Officers, if I speak now, could it be considered turning myself in?”

Li Jian motioned with his hand, ”This involves seven lives, it absolutely cannot be considered turning yourself in.”

”However, the other few... three cases can barely count as confession circumstances.”

”But it depends on how thoroughly you confess and how much you reveal.”

At this moment, Li Lei was like an ant on a hot pan, stuck in a dilemma.

He steadied himself and said, ”I’ll talk, I’ll say everything.”

”I did indeed harm seven people.”

”The first person I killed, I buried her under the pier near my hometown.”

”The subsequent people were killed one by one in the salon. Some were left in the salon, while others were abandoned by me in the cave next to the thatched cottage.”

”Is there a cave next to the thatched cottage?”

Li Jian nodded, ”On the side near the thatched cottage?”

”No! It’s hidden in the soil behind the woods at the thatched cottage.”

At this time, everyone’s interest was piqued.

Could there be other caves besides the one Jiang An discovered?

Then, Li Jian asked, ”Specifically, where is it?”

By now, Li Lei was already a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

He stuttered, ”It’s just... behind the woods on the right side of the thatched cottage.”

”I specifically dug a cave and buried the bodies of the other three people.”

Hearing this, Jiang An’s hand unconsciously clenched, his veins popping out.

What a scum!

Why be a human when you want to be a ghost?

Many people say ghosts are scary.

But in Jiang An’s view, people are scarier than ghosts.

Li Jian has worked in criminal investigation for many years and has encountered many bizarre cases and captured many bloody murderers.

Yet at this moment, even he couldn’t help himself.

His eyes bulged as he asked, ”Why did you commit these murders?”

As soon as he finished speaking, Li Lei’s face turned vicious again.

”Why?”

”I suppose you’ve also found that notebook?”

”However, it recorded every murder I’ve committed.”

”I want to tell you, each killing is a satisfying revenge for me.”

Then the interrogation room fell into silence.

At that moment, the world seemed to belong solely to Li Lei.

The other officers standing outside the interrogation room all showed expressions of shock on their faces.

minutes later, Li Lei looked up with a face of despair.

He softly said, ”Can I... have a cigarette?”

”I want a smoke.”

By now, it was the final moment. Giving him a cigarette wouldn’t matter.

Li Jian lit a cigarette and handed it to him.

He took it, puffing out smoke rings one after another.

Then, Li Lei spoke, ”Every time I kill, I feel pleasure, and it’s very intense.”

”Each time after killing a woman, I didn’t engage in any sexual activities.”

”Because I can’t be a complete man!”

”That’s my greatest pain.”

”In my view, it is precisely because of this issue that my three wives gradually became cold to me.”

”Since I cannot fulfill my duties as a husband, what’s the meaning of my life?”

”What’s the difference from the eunuchs in ancient times?”

”There’s a saying, ’A day as a couple is like a hundred days of grace.’ Since we’re a couple, we should support each other.”

”But what about them?”

”After they found out about my problem, not only did they not care or sympathize with me, but they even talked behind my back.”

”Whenever they looked at me, it seemed like they were mocking me.”

”Even so, since they were my wives, I never harmed them.”

”However, when I went to entertainment venues and paid for fun, I was mocked.”

”I think those women are really nasty, taking my money and then saying I’m not capable, saying I have no abilities.”

”Tell me... don’t you think I should’ve hurt them?”

In an instant, Li Lei’s eyes filled with blood, like a beast about to devour someone.
