The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 543: Chapter 307: A Military Order Made Him Famous in One Battle!

Li Jian patted Jiang An on the shoulder and said, ”Mr. Ma is particularly concerned about you.”

”Just accept it.”

”Do well, both Mr. Ma and I have high hopes for you.”

Jiang An smiled gratefully and said, ”Thank you for the leadership’s recognition and concern. I will definitely do my utmost in the new position, not letting you down.”

After parting with Li Jian, Jiang An arrived at Office 201.

This is his new office.

Opening the door of the office, the sight in front of him made him feel very comfortable.

The room was bright and clean, with an independent desk paired with a delicate coffee table, looking very elegant.

The wallpaper pattern behind was exquisite, adding a touch of scholarly air to the entire office.

However, upon a closer look, he felt surprised.

There were all sorts of items piled up on the desk.

He felt some curiosity in his heart, wondering why the predecessor’s things hadn’t been moved out yet?

Yet, as he drew closer and took a careful look, he found that these were actually all his own belongings, even the personal items in the drawers were included.

Looking at these items, Jiang An couldn’t help but curve his lips slightly upward, feeling a warmth flow in his heart.

”Did some eager colleagues help me move my things over?”

Just as Jiang An was immersed in the warmth of this surprise, a knock on the door interrupted his thoughts.

”Come in!”

Wan and Zhang Yean walked in, sitting casually across from Jiang An.

Zhang Yean smiled and asked, ”How is it, sitting at this desk, comfortable?”

While speaking, Zhang Yean reached out to touch the table and exclaimed, ”Look at this solid wood desk; surely, the leader’s desk is better than our officer’s!”

Wan also laughed, saying, ”Exactly!”

”However, with our junior brother here, I can often drop by your office to experience this solid wood seat.”

Listening to their teasing, Jiang An smiled helplessly.

He said, ”Senior brother, senior sister, don’t tease me. Sitting here feels like sitting on pins and needles.”

”I actually wish to sit with everyone; at least the pressure is not that great.”

Wan comforted him, ”Don’t overthink, take things as they come, and adjust as needed.”

”Besides, with your case-solving capability, few can compare across the bureau.”

”If even you can’t solve a case, I believe it’d be a nationwide challenge to crack it.”

Zhang Yean also gave a thumbs-up, saying, ”Precisely!”

”I think you should just be a vice-captain with peace of mind.”

”Nevertheless, if you pursue a career path in the future, never forget your criminal investigation expertise; we still wish to follow you on missions.”

Jiang An quickly said, ”Senior brother, senior sister, you should be the ones leading me, no need to be so polite.”

Zhang Yean said seriously, ”You are our leader now, later when we introduce you, it must be as the vice-captain of our criminal investigation team.”

”In private, we can be casual; you call us senior brother, senior sister, and we can call you junior brother.”

”But, in public, we must respect your position, which has always been the practice of our criminal investigation team.”

”Only with internal unity can we prevent others from bullying us.”

Listening to Wan and Zhang Yean’s back-and-forth, Jiang An felt very happy inside.

He hadn’t expected that after his promotion, these two senior brothers and sisters still maintained such a close relationship with him.

Upon arriving, they showed no restraint between leaders and subordinates, precisely indicating they did not treat Jiang An as an outsider.

Instead, they treated him like family, happily and joyfully seeing a family member’s promotion and success.

After a moment, Jiang An’s expression suddenly turned serious, and he seriously said, ”Recently, we indeed solved quite a few cases.”

”But last time’s ten top unsolved cases, we only cracked one.”

”This period, while adapting to the new workplace, I want to attempt solving a murder mystery.”

Upon hearing this, Wan and Zhang Yean’s expressions instantly dropped.

Wan smiled bitterly, saying, ”Brother, can’t you let us rest a bit?”

”We truly can’t bear it anymore.”

”You may be made of steel, but we aren’t.”

Although Zhang Yean didn’t show too much resistance, she frowned and said, ”There are still nine unsolved cases, the pressure is indeed huge.”

Wan turned to Zhang Yean and said, ”I said, we shouldn’t have come just now.”

”After we came, look, whether to take this task or not, what should we decide?”

”Not taking it hurts our brotherly bond and does not look good!”

”Taking it means it’s indeed too tiring.”

Zhang Yean laughed and said, ”Our junior brother pursues progress!”

”Not like you, seeking leisure everywhere.”

”I think we can try; solving the previous unsolved case not only gained collective merit but many personal rewards too.”

”If we solve another unsolved case, everyone can at least gain another merit.”

Suddenly, Wan’s eyes brightened and said, ”This is possible, hardship is worth it.”

”I think being a police officer, one should have a sense of honor and collective identity.”

Zhang Yean pouted and said, ”Weren’t you just tired of solving cases?”

Embarrassed, Wan scratched his head, saying, ”I was eyeing the reward and honor behind it.”

”Hehe, but talking about money is indeed vulgar.”

”Our main goal is still to capture criminals.”

Watching the interaction between the two in front of him, Jiang An chuckled softly.

”Solving such murder cases surely carries enormous pressure.”

”But once solved, its value is very high.”

”The last murder case solution got high attention from the Ministry of Public Security; our criminal investigation team also gained collective merit, and many got personal rewards.”

”As vice-captain of the criminal investigation team, I want to solve a few more.”

Seeing Jiang An’s determined expression, Wan and Zhang Yean exchanged glances.

”Alright, we two support you.”

Jiang An said gratefully, ”Thank you, senior sister, you are an expert in traces, very proficient in this area.”

”Senior brother, you’re specialized in interrogation.”

”If the three of us cooperate, maybe we can crack a murder mystery together.”

Wan said, ”After all, three humble cobblers can outwit Zhuge Liang.”

”Moreover, the three of us aren’t just ordinary cobblers.”

Thus, the three reached an agreement.

Jiang An said, ”Later we will go to the archives room to pick a mystery file and see if we can find any breakthrough.”

Twenty minutes later, the three came out holding a thick pile of files from the archives room.

Jiang An had an independent office, and a small reception room.

They chose to use this small reception room as the case analysis room.

The pile of files was about 20 centimeters thick, with its covers covered in dust, appearing quite old.

The file’s cover prominently displayed ”2007 East Village Massacre.”

Wan raised his hand and patted the files, a burst of dust rose in the room instantly.

Zhang Yean instinctively coughed and said, ”This case is somewhat dated.”

Jiang An nodded and said, ”Yes, it’s been over 20 years.”

Wan continued, ”This is a challenging file, a family annihilation isn’t a minor case.”

Taking the file, Jiang An opened the first page, and the three sat in a row, starting to check attentively.

The first page of the file records the case’s alarm information: April 14, 2007, at 4 AM, the police station received a report claiming that a Li family in East Village had been slaughtered, requesting police dispatch.

Upon preliminary arrival at the scene, police officers found windows and doors were all open, the ground covered by two adults and a child, bloodstains everywhere within, a complete mess.

Both adults had sharp injuries on their bodies, while the child died from suffocation caused by pressure on the mouth and nose.

Looking at this horrifying record, all three realized, this would be a tough war to overcome,

but their eyes remained resolute, determined to uncover the truth behind this dusty years-old family massacre...
