Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 350: Merger with the Lesser Heaven (Vol end)

The Southern Region

Grey stood eye to eye with the Lesser Heaven, which had now fully descended.

”So, you are the bastard I dreamt about back then,” Grey chuckled, looking at the massive hands of the Lesser Heaven with amusement. ”Looks like we were fated to meet.”

The Lesser Heaven didn’t answer. Instead, it stared silently at Grey, who stood there like a god descended from the heavens. If Grey wasn’t wrong, this entity was already at the Fourth Rank.

Then, it spoke.

”Why does life slumber?”

”Why does life believe tomorrow is guaranteed?”

”Why does life wait until extinction to awaken?”

It asked three questions. But Grey just kept silent; he knew these questions weren’t meant for him.

”In the end, it is all for nothing,” the Lesser Heaven continued. ”They make stupid decisions and die stupidly. And by the end, I devour them. I am the eternal truth of this world. This world exists to be devoured by now. Life... is meaningless in front of absolute power.”

”Oh, are you?” Grey sneered.

The Chaos Lotus above his head shone with a blinding light. Immediately, a crushing pressure descended onto the Lesser Heaven.

BOOM!

Its massive body, covering half the Southern Region, began to fall rapidly. However, before it could crash and destroy the land, a mysterious power formed a thin barrier around the region, freezing the Lesser Heaven in place.

At the same time, Grey’s mind stirred.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens!]

[By observing a Lesser Heaven in a matter of life and death, you have successfully comprehended the skill: ”Devourer of Chaos”]

The White Space

The instant that notification rang, Grey’s consciousness ascended to a higher place.

His eyes flickered. He realized he was in a completely new space that looked like the white canvas of a painting. Suddenly, a figure flickered into existence. She had blue hair and eyes that looked like the deep ocean.

”Grey Lockhart.”

[Your comprehension defies the heavens!]

[By observing the World Will ’Gaia’, you have gained insight into the concept of Realmheart.]

There was no need for an introduction. Grey already knew who she was: The legendary World Will.

”Grey Lockhart, save this world.”

”Save the world?” Grey was taken aback, then he chuckled. ”I can’t even save myself, let alone the world.”

The World Will fell silent. She stepped forward and held onto Grey’s hands. Immediately, she transferred the memories of everything that had happened while he was fighting Tian Yuan.

He saw General Ben descending onto the Southern Region. He saw the chaos in the West. He saw Valeria, and even Bai Yue, who had become a Saint. finally, he saw Eterna and Werner.

”The High Order and the Federation...”

As soon as he finished reviewing the memories, Grey’s expression turned ice cold. It wasn’t just anger; it was pure rage. They actually dared to hurt his people. The Federation Master had destroyed Eterna’s consciousness!

Then, he fell silent as a single truth settled in his mind: Power. Absolute power dictated everything. Once you have enough strength, you only need to lift a pinky to make everything right.

”If things stay how they are, the world will end sooner or later,” Gaia said softly. ”If not for your intervention, it would have fallen by now. Those who call themselves rulers are no longer worthy of the title. We need a variable.”

She paused and waved her hand. An image of the Lesser Heaven appeared.

”Merge with the Lesser Heaven. Its power will directly push you to the 4th Rank and improve your soul integrity.”

Grey fell silent. The Lesser Heaven was a devourer of planes and dimensions; for him, it held immense benefits.

By now, Grey had realized something crucial. He had strayed from his true path—the path of perfecting his evolution. He had made a terrible mistake by ignoring the toll his evolution took on his soul. Now, he was suffering the consequences.

Because of that, Grey decided.

He was going to completely shatter his Nexus Path and remake it anew.

This time, he would not restrict his path to the rules of this world or its system. His new evolutionary path would remove unnecessary restrictions, such as law transformation or even the entire 2nd Rank (the transformation stage).

He would forge a Nexus Evolutionary Path that stood apart from everything else. The Lesser Heaven, who had devoured entire planes of existence, was the key.

”I planned on doing that anyway,” Grey said with a smile. ”I just so happened to get a new skill called the Devourer of Chaos. If I have assistance, I can devour it completely.”

”I can help you suppress it,” the World Will replied. ”I will also keep you updated on the world while you are absorbing it.”

And so, the World Will and Grey came to an agreement.

With that, Grey descended back down to the ground.

He looked toward the other side of the world. With the Ice Wall crumbling, things were about to get much harder. The evil and corruption on the other side were evident. In the far distance, where the wall once stood, he could see fields of corruption as big as mountains.

Just then, Grey’s Saint’s Eye flickered.

A resonance had formed. It was a connection unique to Saints. He connected directly to it, and a person appeared in his mind palace.

”Master,” Bai Yue spoke softly as she stared at Grey in the mental space.

”You must be Bai Yue. The World Will showed me your memories. Congratulations on becoming a Saint.”

”Yes. The Heavenly Dao granted me this sainthood so I could become your faithful follower for countless eras,” Bai Yue said respectfully.

”I know.” Grey simply nodded. ”I saw that you have Alissa and Werner with you. Make sure you keep them safe.”

He paused for a moment before continuing. ”Also, I want you to guard the Southern Region while I am merging with the Lesser Heaven. This is my domain.”

Then, Grey added coldly, ”And keep Luca in check. I will take his head myself once I emerge. Got it?”

Bai Yue was slightly taken aback by his words, but she nodded firmly. This man had granted the world a new opportunity; she took his orders very seriously.

”Good. Also, make sure that Valeria is safe. She is currently assimilating with Brandon’s Origin Core.”

”Yes,” Bai Yue nodded in understanding. She was already aware of Valeria’s situation.

With that, Grey gave her Lia’s contact number and cut the connection.

By the time he was done talking to Bai Yue, Jasmine, Lia, and Little Hong were standing right in front of him.

”Are you alright, Grey?” Lia asked, her voice filled with concern.

Grey paused momentarily to look at Lia. ”I’m alright.”

Then, he began recounting everything that had happened up until now to the group. As soon as he finished his explanation, Lia’s expression stiffened. Grey noticed this immediately.

With some hesitation, he gently placed his hand on Lia’s head.

”I’m fine,” Grey said with a chuckle. ”I’m not going to die.”

”Are you sure?” Lia asked quietly.

”Of course. That is why I am merging with the Lesser Heaven,” Grey added with a smile.

”What? Merging with the Lesser Heaven?” Lia and Jasmine shouted at the same time, pointing at the immobile monster floating in the sky.

”You...” Lia hesitated for a moment. Suddenly, she stepped closer and wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug.

”Why do you always make me worry, Grey?” she whispered.

Seeing this, Grey was slightly surprised, but he chuckled and hugged her back.

”You don’t need to worry in the first place, my Miss Lia,” Grey said while laughing softly. ”Nothing will happen to me. If anything, merging with the Lesser Heaven will do me more good than bad. And besides, the World Will would probably start crying if an awesome person like me suddenly died.”

”Hmph,” Lia snorted. ”If you die, I will bring you back just as quickly. Don’t forget, I am a God.”

Then, her expression softened as she looked deep into Grey’s eyes. ”But be careful. I will miss you.”

”Hey, you two lovebirds. Try to read the room, I’m still here,” Jasmine coughed awkwardly.

Grey chuckled at this, and Lia pulled away, looking embarrassed.

Then, Grey thought of something important.

”Alright, with the Ice Wall broken, now is the best time to get all the Chaos Seals.”

As he said that, he transferred the Chaos Seal from his palace. Along with it, he transferred the Secret Realm to Lia. Since he was about to merge with the Lesser Heaven, he needed to be cautious. If something went wrong, Lin Fang, who was inside the Secret Realm, might die.

”Try to collect all the Chaos Seals. Little Hong will grow stronger, and you will also gain benefits from it. Before you go, contact Bai Yue. She will provide some assistance.”

”I will go as well,” Jasmine chimed in. ”I am curious about these Chaos Seals.”

With the decision made, Lia and Jasmine set off to find Bai Yue.

Grey turned to face the Lesser Heaven. Without hesitation, he activated his new skill.

”Devourer of Chaos.”

BOOM!

Nexus energy surged uncontrollably from Grey, crushing down on the Lesser Heaven completely.

The next moment, Grey’s body began to disintegrate, mirroring how the Lesser Heaven’s body was also slowly breaking apart. The assimilation process had begun.

This marked the start of a new beginning for the Nexus Path, and also the end of the previous one. There were still many questions left to be answered, but those would slowly reveal themselves when Grey emerged from his slumber.
