Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 331: The descension of the Second Heaven, there is only one absolute truth, submit to the heavenly path

”Alright, can we now please make the binding vow already?” Jasmine said with a tired look on her face. ”We’ve been yapping for too long. I’m too tired. I want to go back to the research institute and get some rest.”

”Sure...” Grey replied with a laugh.

Indeed, they had been going at it for a bit too long.

But on the other hand, talking to Jasmine had opened his eyes as well.

So it wasn’t necessarily bad.

It was a good thing that he didn’t need his heaven-defying comprehension to come to his senses and understand things around him.

”Yes, let’s make the binding vow now.” Jasmine said with a smile.

”You don’t need to do much. Just state the condition out loud. The rest will be handled by the Heavenly Dao.”

Soon after, Jasmine began voicing the condition.

”With my presence as proof, I invoke the Heavenly Mandate. I summon the Heavenly Tribulation to bear witness to this binding vow and engrave it upon the laws of heaven and earth.”

The instant she invoked those words, the world shuddered. The sky above distorted, and tribulation clouds began to gather overhead.

Seeing this, Jasmine began speaking as she bit onto one of her fingers. ”Quick, Chief Grey, make a small cut on your finger.”

However, much to her surprise, she realized that Grey was looking at the sky above with a frown.

’The sainthood is stirring at its appearance.’ Grey’s eyes flickered, and then, just as quickly, he felt something else.

The tribulation clouds above churned uncontrollably.

It seemed to hold Grey in disdain.

The sainthood stirred even more violently in response.

”Looking at me with disdain?” Grey sneered at the heavens above.

”What...?” Jasmine suddenly frowned. She realized something had gone wrong. The tribulation clouds above seemed far more active than usual.

She hesitated, looking at the clouds above. Would something happen if she sent her blood toward them?

She held it in, observing the unusual phenomenon she was witnessing in silence.

Abruptly, the secret realm shook, followed by heavenly light descending from all directions.

Then, random chants began to form around the world.

Grey’s expression immediately turned icy.

”Chief Grey, what’s happening?” Jasmine frowned. ”Are we in danger?”

She looked around. Heavenly light shot from all directions, rushing toward them at bottleneck speed. The chants made her feel a sense of oppression. She had the urge to kneel, but she held it in.

”In danger?” Grey showed no change in expression as he stared at the heavens above.

”No. We are not in danger.”

These chants, Grey could understand them. They were glitched, as if several identical voices were speaking directly into his diaphragm.

The words were simple.

”There is only one absolute truth. Submit to the Heavenly Path.”

The chant repeated countless times in Grey’s mind.

The sainthood stirred even more violently, to the point that it could no longer remain still within his mind palace.

By now, it was clear to Grey.

Jasmine invoking the binding vow had invited the second Heavenly Dao, and it had sensed his existence.

Would the Heavenly Dao that had just descended let go of someone who followed another Heavenly Dao?

His sainthood was definitive proof of his connection to the other Heavenly Dao.

That alone made him its enemy.

Hence, it looked at him with disdain.

A being who followed another Heavenly Dao.

But at the same time, this Heavenly Dao had also given him an offer.

’Grant me your sainthood?’ Grey sneered inwardly.

It had promised him sainthood if he took its side.

That was also the reason his sainthood had stirred so violently.

Just then, Jasmine’s voice came from the side. ”Hey, Chief Grey, the heavenly light is almost upon us. Are you sure it won’t harm us? I have a bad feeling about this.”

Hearing this, Grey glanced at her, and a huge grin spread across his face.

”You don’t need to worry.”

”Because something above the Heavenly Dao has already started taking action.”

Boom!

The instant his words ended, silver-purple brilliance erupted from him.

”....?”

The chanting dulled instantly. No, it wasn’t just the chant.

The entire world fell silent as the absolute presence of Nexus Energy erupted in full force.

The heavenly lights rushing toward them froze midair. Like shattered mirrors, they dispersed and vanished.

Even before the sainthood within him could take action, the Nexus Energy had moved first.

Nothing in the world could threaten its perfection.

Not some mere Heavenly Dao.

Its anger issues were not something Grey could control. As long as something threatened him in terms of energy, it would erupt and suppress it, no matter what it was.

The Nexus Energy was absolute.

The entire secret realm shook nonstop. Jasmine stared at the scene in utter dumbfounded silence.

”What is that energy...?” she whispered. ”It’s surpassing the heavenly light.”

Boom!

The silver brilliance condensed into a ray of light that shot straight into the tribulation clouds above. The next second, the clouds dispersed completely.

”Maybe next time, you shouldn’t look at me with disdain.” Grey laughed lightly. ”I might be able to tolerate it, but not my energy.”

The Nexus Energy calmed and quietly returned to his elixir field.

”....” Jasmine stared at the scene in confusion.

Why did the all-seeing overseer of everything attack them?

And from Grey’s words, it had been looking at him with disdain.

Just as she was musing, Grey turned toward her.

”I will invoke the binding vow this time.”

”And whenever we are doing a binding vow, I will do it.”

If things went smoothly, then when he invoked the binding vow, his sainthood should activate and draw the Heavenly Dao he was connected to.

But with this, he confirmed one thing.

There was more than one Heavenly Dao.

That was now a one hundred percent certainty.

Soon, Grey performed the chant and invoked the binding vow.

This time, the tribulation clouds were calm and showed no irregularities.

”Now.” Grey glanced at Jasmine.

She nodded and swiftly bit her finger. Grey did the same.

Immediately, their blood turned into streaks of lightning that shot toward the heavenly tribulation before it fully dispersed.

As it faded away, Jasmine was left riddled with new questions.
