Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 321: His heart stirred

With that, the two of them finally set off, leaving the room behind as they made their way out of the ancient fortress that stood at the heart of the secret realm.

The interior barriers parted smoothly, and moments later, Grey stepped past the final threshold and emerged into the outside region of the realm.

The instant his foot touched the ground, Grey’s brows furrowed slightly.

Something felt wrong.

It was not an obvious danger, nor was it an overwhelming pressure that crushed down on his body.Instead, it was a subtle discomfort, as if the surrounding space itself had become uneven, no longer flowing in the natural way he was accustomed to sensing.

The air trembled faintly. It was weak, almost negligible, but to Grey, it stood out like a flaw in a flawless formation.

His instincts screamed at him.

”Lin Fang.” Grey spoke quickly, his tone sharp and clipped, completely different from his usual relaxed demeanor.

Before Lin Fang could even respond properly, Grey had already acted. His fingers snapped together, and a ripple of energy surged forward.

In front of them, a familiar portal unfolded, its edges stabilizing instantly as the entrance to the secret realm reappeared.

”Quick, get into the secret realm.” Grey said, not bothering to soften his words.

”What happened, Big Bro Grey?” Lin Fang asked, his confusion evident as his gaze flickered between Grey and the suddenly opened portal.

The space around them shuddered again. This time, the distortion was clearer, like an invisible force twisting the fabric of reality ever so slightly.

[Space is being distorted.][There is no time to explain.][Enter the secret realm immediately, as Grey instructed.]

The system’s voice rang out, urgent and tense, lacking even a trace of its usual sarcasm or indifference.

Even then, Lin Fang hesitated.

His body stiffened, his mind struggling to process the sudden turn of events. To him, everything had seemed calm just moments ago.

Grey’s eyes darkened.

He did not give Lin Fang any more time to think.

Without the slightest hesitation, Grey stepped forward and kicked Lin Fang squarely in the back. The force sent Lin Fang flying straight through the portal.

”Big Bro Gre—”The rest of his words were swallowed as the gateway closed behind him.

The portal sealed itself completely.

At the same instant, the surrounding space violently distorted.

The air twisted, folding inward as if an enormous hand had grabbed hold of the world itself and begun to wring it dry.A sharp, unnatural pressure descended, pressing against Grey’s senses from all directions.

Then, something broke through.

From the warped space, an AV emerged.

Its appearance was abrupt, yet strangely restrained, as if it were carefully forcing its way into the realm rather than tearing it apart recklessly.

The AV felt out of place.

It didn’t feel like a typical AV, and the secret realm was automatically rejecting it.

It’s most probably due to the AV being a foreign being entering the secret realm with the law crystal containing the spatial node coordinates of this secret realm.

The pressure he felt earlier must also come from the other party breaking through the space forcefully.

But the bright side was that he didn’t instantly feel like he was gonna die as soon as the AV appeared, meaning the person didn’t have killing intent towards him, like a High Order member, or was it a powerful 4th ranker that was forcefully making their way into this realm.

The AV slowly descended.

And once it descended, the world fell silent for a split second.

Grey stood there with his hair fluttering in the wind and his clothes subtly moving.

But even after a few minutes, nothing came out from the AV.

”...”

Grey’s lips twitched.

Why did this person behind the AV make such a grand opening and then proceed to not show themselves?

But he was still wary.

To tear open space, they must be a fourth ranker, or perhaps they had a comprehension that defied the heavens?

Just then, he heard a voice.

”I’m back~” A mature, yet charming voice came from his side.

Grey was immediately taken aback.

He turned his head to the side in an instant to see who it was.

He had recognized the voice the instant he heard it.

It was the lady that gave him the construct to power himself to 400% of Nexus Overclock.

As soon as he turned around, he saw a blonde-haired, charming young lady who seemed to be the similar age of Valeria, and she had a huge grin on her face.

”Did you miss me, young man? I suddenly got caught up in something because I sensed a special power and decided to check out what it was. But now I’m back!”

”Who are you?” Grey was bewildered.

Why was she talking like a neighbourhood auntie?

That was the vibe she gave.

Perhaps a crazed neighbourhood auntie would be a better way to put it?

”Me~?” She tilted her head. ”I’m Jasmine, nice to meet you.” She smiled with her teeth showing.

”I was looking for you, actually.” She added.

”That’s how I traced my way to the battle happening near the ice walls.”

”I wanted to find the man that broke my energy grid array.” She said with a smile as she observed Grey as if she was looking at some test subjects.

”Uh-huh?” Grey looked at her strangely.

He had no idea what array she was talking about. But then he remembered a unique array he had seen in the Mandate Province.

”Mandate Province?” Grey tilted his head.

”Yes!” Jasmine clapped her hands together. ”The Mandate Province, which is now under your control, Chief Grey.”

”Chief is crazy.” Grey’s lips twitched.

Was he some tribe’s head to be called chief?

But it didn’t sound bad.

That aside, he focused on Jasmine, and for a split second, his heart stirred.

Not the kind of stir one would feel after falling in love.

No, it felt like he was looking at a part of him.

”???” Grey’s expression suddenly hardened, a part of him?

The following instant, his comprehension stirred awake.
