Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 323: Untie It

”I was a student at one of the Neostar Modern Magic Institutes, where they taught people how to become promising modern mages and efficient ways to control the hexcore for better computation and stabilization.”

”And most importantly, they taught us how to efficiently use the AD, the assistance device that allows one to trigger the mana particles in one’s body and guide it into a...” As Jasmine spoke, she casually stretched her left arm to the side.

Immediately, her eyes flickered, and a magical rune appeared on her wrist near her palm. In the next instant, fire shot out from her hand.

The moment Grey saw it, his comprehension stirred to life.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing a modern magic rune connected to the information layer, you have comprehended the 3-star modern magic rune Fire Ignition.]

[You have gained insight into the Law of Fire.]

[You have gained insight into the Law of Gravity.]

”...”

Grey was dumbfounded.

He comprehended it?

He actually comprehended a power from a different universe!

Grey was caught between tears and laughter when he realized this.

Even powers from other universes could not hide from his comprehension.

And this was a power from the future at that.

But aside from that, Grey realized something else.

He stared at the area where the power had detonated. A nearby mountain close to the Fortress of the High Order was completely destroyed.

It would be accurate to say that the moment the flames touched it, the mountain erupted in fire before collapsing inward.

All of that power had erupted from her small, slender hand, yet there had been barely any energy fluctuation when she cast it.

Grey observed Jasmine silently and then fell quiet.

Third rank.

She was a third-ranker.

And not just any third-ranker, she was a third-ranker at the second level!

”Down to earth, Chief Grey, are you there?” Seeing Grey suddenly zone out, Jasmine waved her hand in front of his face.

”You... You are a third-ranker at level two?” Grey asked in disbelief.

”I guess?” Jasmine tilted her head. ”But in my universe, that level is called a Third-Rate Modern Mage at the second order of power.”

”Third-Rate Modern Mage, huh?” Grey nodded slowly. ”Still, to think there would be someone like you in the Southern Region.”

Grey was at a loss for words.

As things stood now, Jasmine was several times stronger than him.

’As they say, there is always a bigger fish in the sea.’

”Chief Grey, if you are up for it, I can actually make you stronger than you are right now.” Jasmine grinned wildly. ”You just need to accompany me in the lab for a few weeks or months.”

”Yeah, I’ll pass on that.” Grey replied, his lips twitching.

This woman was dangerous, and on top of that, she was stronger than him.

Who knew what kind of horrors she would conduct on him?

Even though this was their first meeting, he could tell at a glance that this woman was crazy.

”Come on. Trust me, it will be worth it. When I’m done with you, you will be stronger than me.” Jasmine whispered, her voice sounding like a devil tempting a mortal.

At this moment, she looked no different from a devil luring an innocent human into committing sins.

But would Grey fall for it?

The answer was no.

He himself commanded several devils from hell.

He would not fall for a devil’s words.

”If I come with you, there will be no one left to manage the entire Southern Region.”

”That’s easy.” Jasmine shrugged. ”I’ll just create an AI to manage everything automatically.”

”I can link the AI to your phone, and it will always ask for your permission and approvals.”

”I don’t trust you like that.” Grey rolled his eyes. ”What makes you think I would trust a stranger I met today to manage my region?”

”Well, if you don’t want it, then I can’t do anything.” Jasmine shrugged again. ”You should have taken it though. An AI from the future is not something to be underestimated.”

”Although it cannot reach the level of Eterna, who has already transcended as a machine, the AI of my world would not lag behind either.”

”It’s extremely versatile.”

”And very compatible with the Hexcore.”

”The Hexcore, huh?” Grey looked thoughtful. ”Was that the thing you gave me that pushed me to 400 percent?”

”Well. Kinda?” Jasmine tilted her head. ”It’s like a temporary Hexcore.”

”The reason it isn’t permanent is because it is not fully attuned to your body. Keeping it for too long could cause severe imbalance.”

”That’s why I installed a self-detonation module. It ensures you won’t suffer any trauma once its operational duration runs out.”

”A stable hexcore would require your body sample and full attunement to your DNA.”

”If you let me take a bit of your blood, I can try to make a proper hexcore for you.” Jasmine stepped closer, a grin forming on her face as a small syringe appeared in her hand.

”Can I take your blood now, Chief Grey?” she asked, her white teeth gleaming under her wide smile.

She looked just like those nurses from toothpaste advertisements.

”No.” Grey rejected her immediately.

What’s wrong with this woman?

Why did he have the unsettling feeling that she wanted to dissect him inch by inch and examine his insides?

Whatever the case, she was terrifying.

She absolutely needed to practice social distancing with him.

”Anyways, although I won’t give you my blood, is it possible for me to see another hexcore in person? I want to observe it more closely.”

’And comprehend its functioning.’ Grey grinned.

”You want to see?” Jasmine smiled brightly. ”I can show you if you want.” Her voice slowed, each word carefully drawn out.

It sounded exactly like a woman whispering something wildly inappropriate in a public lobby.

”I can show you.” Jasmine turned around, still smiling, and slowly swept her long, straight, silky blonde hair to the side, revealing the fine lines of the gown holding it together.

”Come,” she said softly. ”Untie it.”

Grey: ”...”
