Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 837: Chapter 837: Do You Know Each Other?

”Someone’s here! I’ll go see who it is.” An Hao quickly pushed Qin Jian away, got dressed, and got out of bed.

When she opened the door, standing there was Sister Guifang from downstairs.

”Oh, it seems I knocked at an awkward time!” Zhang Guifang looked at An Hao, her hair a mess, her cheeks flushed charmingly red, her clothes deliberately straightened but still creased. Anyone could tell what had been going on.

”What are you talking about, Sister?” An Hao smiled sheepishly, ”I just woke up from a nap.”

”Alright, no need to explain. I’ve already seen Brother Qin Jian’s shoes at the door.” Zhang Guifang teased An Hao with a smile, ”You young people have it good! Alas, we are old now.”

”Don’t tease me, Sister. Don’t stand at the door—come in and sit down.” An Hao widened the door, inviting her in.

Zhang Guifang waved her hand in refusal: ”I won’t come in. I’m here to tell you not to bother cooking tonight, come eat at my place! I’ve been meaning to invite you over for a while now, and I haven’t yet! Since both you and Brother Qin Jian are home today, you should both come over to my place!”

”Well... okay then.” An Hao agreed, believing in the importance of reciprocating gestures to strengthen relationships. ”Sister, you go ahead; I’ll tidy up and be right there.”

”Alrighty. Sister will cook you something delicious tonight.” After saying that, Zhang Guifang went downstairs first.

An Hao returned to the bedroom and found Qin Jian already up.

”Sister Guifang has invited us to her house for dinner! Wash your face quickly; we’ll buy something on the way!” An Hao said while tying up her hair.

Qin Jian washed his face in the washroom, and then the two of them, arm in arm, went downstairs.

They bought some fruit, and Qin Jian also bought two bottles of wine and some cooked food before heading to Zhang Guifang’s house.

No sooner had they entered the door than Zhang Guifang came to greet them happily: ”Have a seat, have a seat! Really, what’s the need to bring things to your sister’s house?”

”It’s nothing much, just some snacks. To share with everyone.” An Hao replied with a smile.

”You’re so considerate. Among the people Sister knows, there’s no one your age who makes Sister feel as content as you do.” Zhang Guifang brought out two cups of tea from the kitchen, placed them on the table for Qin Jian and An Hao, and then went inside to drag Li Zecheng out of bed.

Li Zecheng had felt unwell with a stomach upset that afternoon, so he came home early, took some medicine, and was now feeling much better after a nap.

He came out of the room to find Qin Jian and An Hao both there, and was happy about it; sitting down, he started chatting with Qin Jian about army life.

An Hao and Zhang Guifang sat down as well and chatted for a while. As it was getting late, An Hao was just about to go help with the cooking when she heard a noise from the other room.

Xin Ni came out of the room, stretching and yawning.

Seeing An Hao brazenly sitting in this house, Xin Ni’s face immediately soured: ”Why is it you? How come you are at my brother’s house?”

”What? You know each other?” Li Zecheng turned his attention to Xin Ni after hearing her speak.

”More than know each other!” Xin Ni pointed at An Hao, tears of grievance welling up in her eyes, ”Brother! It’s her, it’s this woman! She was the one who hit me that night! Sister-in-law even said she didn’t know her, and now look, she’s come to our house. I bet Sister-in-law told her to hit me!”
