Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 806: Chapter 806 Entrusted

”You’re supposed to go down,” An Hao said.

”Don’t bother with him! This guy has been pestering me again lately,” Gu Shuangshuang said angrily, ”He knows I have feelings for Tian Niu, yet he refuses to give up.”

”I think he’s just been concerned about you lately, and hasn’t revealed that kind of intention.”

Gu Shuangshuang sneered, glanced at the person downstairs, and said, ”I don’t know who enlightened him, but he actually learned to plot slowly. If I hadn’t heard him tell Zhang Chaoqian these words myself, I would’ve had no idea he actually saw me as prey, lying in wait for an opportunity to pounce.”

Unable to restrain herself, An Hao laughed, tasting the phrase in her mouth, ”Plot slowly. Slowly... The person who can utter these words must be very scheming.”

”I think straightforwardly. I don’t like people who are too crafty.” Always feeling those types of people are scary, her intuition was that they were like well-disguised venomous snakes, which could leap out and bite you at any time.

And you’d be dead before you even realized what happened.

”I don’t like crafty people either, but if I really meet one, I won’t be afraid,” An Hao said casually.

The shouting from downstairs was incessant, bothering the people in other dorms so much that one by one, they popped their heads out of their balconies, shouting up, ”Gu Shuangshuang, come down! Gu Shuangshuang, come down!”

”Hahaha!” An Hao couldn’t help but burst into laughter, ”You better go down fast, or you really will cause a public uproar.”

Gu Shuangshuang and An Hao went downstairs, and Li Zhi immediately dragged Gu Shuangshuang away, ”Are you going home tomorrow? Your mom left you in my care. If you’re not going home, then I have to follow you around all day, every day, twenty-four hours.”

”Can you not be so annoying? Why do you have to follow me?” Gu Shuangshuang frowned, crossing her arms in front of her chest, looking at Li Zhi, ”You don’t need to ’plot slowly’ with me. I have a saying for you, ’A twisted melon is not sweet.’”

”I know,” Li Zhi said, barely lifting his eyelids, yet still managing a smile, ”You don’t have to overthink it. I’m just fulfilling the task your aunt gave me. Tomorrow morning at six o’clock, I’ll be right here waiting for you.”

Elsewhere, Cheng Yue called An Hao over, ”Little junior sister, can we have a chat? I have a favor to ask of you.”

An Hao, seeing Cheng Yue had been drinking but was still acting normally, nodded and agreed.

As Gu Shuangshuang and Li Zhi continued to argue, Cheng Yue led An Hao a little farther away.

The two stopped beside a pool of rose bushes.

”Little junior sister, do you know about Professor Yan leading a team to Yubei?” Cheng Yue asked.

”Yuchuan?” Isn’t that where Qin Jian’s troops are stationed?

”You don’t know?” Cheng Yue was puzzled, but he quickly understood the reason, ”I get it now, you are going to the base for a family visit, right? That explains why Professor Yan didn’t tell you. Since that’s the case, never mind then.”

”Never mind? What do you mean, ’never mind’?” An Hao was somewhat confused, ”What’s the reason you were looking for me? Don’t you have a favor to ask? Tell me so I can help.”

After thinking it over, Cheng Yue said, ”Professor Yan is leading the team to Guoqi Town in Yuchuan City for a medical volunteer service. My sister, Cheng Yu, is also going along, but I’m concerned about her. She suffered a gunshot wound to the head on the China-Vietnam battlefield, and still has a bullet lodged there that hasn’t been removed. I’m worried she might be in danger. I originally thought that since Professor Yan was leading the team, you would definitely be going. So, I wanted to ask you to look after my sister for me.”
