Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 803: Chapter 803 Lurking Approach

Cheng Yue also turned his head to look at the TV, where he saw a lion staring at a gazelle with a predatory gaze, wanting to eat it.

”Sis, since when did Animal World also manage to pique your interest?” Cheng Yue asked.

Cheng Yu didn’t answer, her attention entirely on the TV.

”Sis?”

”Do you think this lion can catch and eat the gazelle?” Cheng Yu suddenly asked.

Cheng Yue felt his sister seemed a bit mysteriously odd, but still answered her, ”Of course. I think it can.”

”Not necessarily!” Cheng Yu said.

No sooner had she spoken than the lion pounced, managed to bite the gazelle’s leg, but after being kicked a few times, the gazelle actually escaped.

”Sis, how did you guess that?” Cheng Yue was surprised.

”The lion revealed its ambition too early. The gazelle was already on guard.” Cheng Yu paused and then said, ”There’s a saying, ’Slow and steady wins the race.’ Once you set your eyes on the prey, you must patiently lie in wait, bide your time, and then strike swiftly to deliver a lethal blow.”

Li Zhi listened and was stunned for a moment, then suddenly had an epiphany, ”Cheng Yu, you’re so right! Your words have deeply resonated with me! I should have been patient with Gu Shuangshuang. I revealed my ambition too early.”

”It’s too late now,” Cheng Yue offered a blunt statement, ”Gu Shuangshuang already has someone. You can’t make your move now.”

Li Zhi stiffened his neck upon hearing this, ”Who says? As long as Gu Shuangshuang’s mom doesn’t give her blessing, Gu Shuangshuang and her boyfriend can’t get married. I’ll just keep lying low, waiting for the right moment!”

”Are you planning to destroy someone else’s love?” Zhang Chaoqian adjusted his glasses and said, ”You wouldn’t be that despicable, would you?”

”Zhang Chaoqian, I see you’re the only gentleman here!” Li Zhi said with a mix of irritation and amusement, ”When did I say I wanted to destroy their love? I’m just waiting on the sidelines, in case Gu Shuangshuang and Tian Niu don’t make it, and then I’ll swiftly take his place. Don’t you understand?”

”I doubt it,” Cheng Yue interjected.

Li Zhi immediately deflated, ”Please stop with the discouragement! I haven’t even had a conversation with Shuangshuang this semester. I’m just waiting for the holidays! Then I can return home with Shuangshuang.”

Speaking of holidays, they were approaching fast; in two or three weeks, it would be vacation time.

It was time to plan for the summer holidays again.

”Sis, do you have any plans for the holiday?” Cheng Yue inquired.

”Not sure yet. It depends on the situation.”

”Then, are you going home?”

”Maybe. I’m not sure yet.”

”Sis, you have to come home. Otherwise, Old Cheng will definitely throw me back into the army again. I don’t want to go at all,” Cheng Yue said with distress.

Cheng Yu thought for a moment and then said, ”I’ll give you an answer in a couple of days.”

”Okay,” Cheng Yue agreed.

After dinner, the three of them made a ruckus and departed. Cheng Yu took her keys and went downstairs to the vicinity of the female dormitory.

She walked around for a while, and from a distance, she saw An Hao coming over, holding a letter with a sweet smile on her face.

”An Hao! What’s got you so happy?” Cheng Yu actively approached her.

”Teacher Cheng! You’re taking a walk!” An Hao had just finished reading a letter from Qin Jian, her heart brimming with sweetness, making her tone a lot more cheerful.

Cheng Yu nodded, and her gaze fell on the letter as she asked An Hao, ”Is that letter from Chief of Staff Qin?”

”Yes,” An Hao smiled, ”Teacher Cheng, you guessed so accurately.”
