Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 692: Chapter 691: Little Happiness

Li Junping hadn’t expected Song Yueqin to play this trick so cleverly, gripping Qin Fen’s heart tightly and even trying to toss the dirty water onto her before leaving.

In a fit of rage, her vision went black, and she collapsed to the ground.

Qin Jian, who had been standing outside the door, rushed in like an arrow and caught Li Junping.

An Hao quickly came over and pinched the philtrum forcefully, and Liu Junping’s breath gradually returned.

After recognizing who was before her, Li Junping burst into uncontrollable sobs, ”Tell me, what kind of life am I leading? Qin Fen, he’s so infatuated, who knows how he’ll treat me in the future!”

”Mom, don’t cry! Time will reveal a person’s heart, Qin Fen will eventually see clearly, don’t worry,” Qin Jian consoled her. What else could he say?

It took a while, but Li Junping finally stopped sobbing, ”Alright, what’s done is done, let’s just live with it! At worst, I won’t provoke them. Whether their lives are good or bad is their own affair. I might as well pretend to be deaf and mute from now on!”

”Mom, it’s fine to look on the bright side! Come, let me help you to rest,” An Hao said as she helped Li Junping up from the ground and escorted her back to her room.

She didn’t express any opinion about tonight’s argument.

It might seem like the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law were at odds now, but who knew what would happen in the future?

After all, Qin Fen was Li Junping’s own son, Song Yueqin was her actual daughter-in-law. It’s good and well to squabble now, but if the two reconciled later and presented a united front, wouldn’t she just be making a fool of herself?

An Hao helped her up to the doorway, where Li Junping stopped and said, ”Jianzi, it’s already too late tonight. You two shouldn’t go back. I expect your in-laws are already asleep, and you’d have to disturb them. We have space at home, and I’ve cleaned it up for you in advance! Just stay here.”

Qin Jian thought that Liu Junping’s reasoning was sound, so he agreed that the two of them would stay.

Qin Jian’s room was just a wall away from Qin Fen’s room, and both had heated kang beds that were warm and comfortable.

After a busy day, An Hao was so tired she could barely stand.

Seeing the warm kang bed, she kicked off her shoes and crawled up, collapsing onto it, unable to move.

”Are you beat?” Qin Jian tucked a pillow under her head, ”You rest for a while, I’ll fetch some hot water, and you can soak your feet to relieve the fatigue.”

”Mmhm,” An Hao obediently nodded, lying on the warm kang bed and waiting for Qin Jian to come over.

Soon, Qin Jian came with the hot water, calling for An Hao to come down so he could help her wash her feet.

The warm water was truly fatigue-relieving. As soon as her feet soaked in it, An Hao felt every cell in her body loosen up. Qin Jian knelt down and reached his rough, large hands into the water to massage the soles of her feet.

”Stop! Let me do it myself.” An Hao didn’t want Qin Jian to do these things, feeling a bit awkward in her heart. The hands of her man should be holding a rifle, not washing her feet.

”No, let me do it,” Qin Jian said with a smile on his lips, ”Wife, doing these things for you is my joy. I’ve dreamt of living this kind of life for a long time – a harmonious marriage and a warm, happy life.”

”Qin Jian...” An Hao laughed, leaning over to kiss his cheek, ”I’m also very happy! Truly, truly very happy!”

Angry, Song Yueqin went back to her maternal home, which left Zhang Juyun somewhat bewildered, ”On your wedding night, why have you run back to your parent’s house?”
