Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 671: Chapter 671: Even Eating Shit, I Won’t Sympathize with You

Li Zhi’s task was very simple: Gu Shuangshuang’s mom asked him to bring Gu Shuangshuang to Jiangning City for the New Year.

But such a simple task was not easy to accomplish.

This girl had someone in her heart, and Li Zhi had no idea who that revered person was, as Gu Shuangshuang wouldn’t tell him; she just said she had someone in her mind.

He used to think Gu Shuangshuang was just brushing him off.

Now, after the incident with Cheng Yue, he felt he had to be more careful.

However, unlike Cheng Yue, An Hao was a married woman, and Gu Shuangshuang wasn’t.

This meant that he still had the rightful chance to pursue her.

Unless, of course, the other person also liked Gu Shuangshuang; if they were mutually attracted, then he couldn’t interfere.

He reckoned that even if he wanted to interfere, he wouldn’t be able to.

Filled with hopeful wishes, Li Zhi went to look for Gu Shuangshuang, ready to buy a train ticket for the next day to head back. He was now heading over to feel out Gu Shuangshuang’s intentions.

With the holiday upon them, everyone was packing their luggage to go home.

At this time, the girls’ dormitory was briefly open to visitors, and Li Zhi rushed up the stairs two at a time to knock on Gu Shuangshuang’s dorm room door.

As soon as he knocked, the door opened.

Gu Shuangshuang was there, packing her luggage and ready to head out with An Hao.

”Shuangshuang, are you going home?” Li Zhi asked delightedly.

”Yeah, what else?” Gu Shuangshuang shot back with a glance and shoved the man standing in her way.

”Come back to Jiangning with me? Aunt Duan asked me to bring you back,” Li Zhi said.

”No way! Tell her I’ll spend the New Year with my dad,” Gu Shuangshuang replied without even looking back.

”Don’t be like that!” Li Zhi hurriedly took a few quick steps to catch up to her, ”I promised Aunt Duan! If you don’t go back with me, how can I face her? I even made a ’military order’ with her; if I don’t bring you back, I’ll have to eat ten hot peppers in front of her! Sister! Those are hot peppers! We Jiangning people almost never eat anything spicy!”

Gu Shuangshuang knew right away this was something her mom would say.

Her mom loved spicy food to the extent that she ate a lot of it while pregnant with her, which worried her grandmother, who feared that a girl would be born because of it.

Sure enough, her mom did give birth to a girl.

Her grandmother complained to her mom for many days afterward, claiming that it was all because of the hot peppers, which turned the baby into a girl.

Moreover, her temperament was fiery and spicy.

”Li Zhi, why did you impulsively gamble on eating hot peppers when you had nothing else to do? She loves spicy food; betting with her is practically a death wish for you,” Gu Shuangshuang said, offering him a sympathetic look.

”So, could you pity me?”

”Sorry! This girl lacks a merciful heart, let alone pitying you eating hot peppers. Even if you ate shit, I wouldn’t feel sorry for you. Out of the way!” Gu Shuangshuang said and then lifted her foot, ”Block my way again, and you’ll taste the power of my Shadowless Kick.”

Seeing her lift her foot, Li Zhi instantly tensed up, quickly shielding his privates with his hands and stepping aside.

This was the Li Family’s treasure; if it got damaged, he wouldn’t even have a place to cry.

As Gu Shuangshuang and An Hao walked down the stairs, they saw Qin Jian waiting for them at the bottom.

He was there specifically to pick up Gu Shuangshuang and An Hao.

The undergraduate dorms at the university were closing for the year, but the graduate halls would remain open; Gu Shuangshuang had nowhere else to go.

Initially, she did plan to spend the New Year with her father.

However, she received a phone call from Tian Niu a couple of days ago; he had been granted leave to visit relatives and would be coming over to see Gu Shuangshuang before the New Year.

With the festive season upon them, a time notorious for increased petty theft, An Hao didn’t feel comfortable leaving Gu Shuangshuang alone. So she invited her to stay at their house, as they did have a spare guest room, and one more person wouldn’t be an issue.
