Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 527: Chapter 527: Missing the Delicate Young Girl

”Damn it! My sneeze has summoned the rain,” Tian Niu grumbled.

Xiaozhou, the warrior from the reconnaissance platoon lying beside him, couldn’t help but laugh, ”Commander, do you think you’re the Dragon King or something? Making it rain with a sneeze? Back in my hometown, people say that if you’re thinking, cursing, and complaining, it must be because someone is missing you!”

As soon as he finished speaking, he received a hard thwack on the head from Tian Niu, ”Discipline! Discipline! Where’s your discipline? And you call yourself a scout!”

Clutching his painfully thwacked head, Xiaozhou protested with a sense of injury, ”The discipline doesn’t say we can’t talk during a mission, does it?”

Tian Niu snorted coldly, his thoughts inevitably drifting to Gu Shuangshuang.

How wonderful it would be if she were the one missing him?

But that girl’s temper was really... beyond words...

As soon as he thought of Gu Shuangshuang, Tian Niu’s yearning spiraled out of control.

The mission had been going on for four days now; they had already delivered more than half of the topographic map on the second day, and the map was soon to be completed.

The chief of staff’s excellence was evident; while the rest of the reconnaissance teams had encountered skirmishes, they had been like ghosts within the enemy’s territory, searching for the enemy headquarters.

They were just waiting for the right opportunity to arise, and they would send a message, leading an elite troop to pierce into the enemy’s headquarters like a blade.

Once the mission was accomplished and after being commended, he would rush back for home leave.

This little girl had him scratching his heart and liver with longing.

No wonder Captain Qin was fond of his sister-in-law. Young girls had their charms. With their delicate coquetting and batting eyes, they could make your bones feel soft and melty.

In the past, he hadn’t noticed anything.

Now, after getting to know Gu Shuangshuang, Tian Niu realized that this kind of coquetry was charming only when a young girl did it—it felt so natural.

The more Tian Niu thought about it, the happier he became, and a hint of blush seemed to appear on his dark face.

Xiaozhou, seeing that Tian Niu had gone silent, quickly waved his hand in front of Tian Niu’s eyes. Noticing his unresponsive state and the sudden flush on his cheeks, Xiaozhou covered his mouth and began to laugh secretly.

”What the hell are you laughing at!” Tian Niu was a rough man, especially in front of his brothers; his language was especially coarse.

”Commander Tian, are you lovesick?”

”Lovesick my ass! Xiaozhou, I’ve realized you’re even more irritating than I am. Shut your mouth. I order you not to say a word all day long,” Tian Niu glared at him and said.

”Yes, sir!” Xiaozhou quickly clamped his mouth shut.

The other warriors ambushed in the bushes couldn’t hold back their snickers.

The sky was pouring with rain, and it was getting heavier, approaching torrential levels, quickly forming a river along the mountainside.

Tian Niu looked around but found no shelter from the rain.

They didn’t dare to wander about recklessly; this was Blue Army territory, and being spotted would mean failure for their operation.

All the other directions had been searched, leaving only this one. The enemy headquarters was most likely in this direction.

Tian Niu had a premonition that they were getting close; they absolutely couldn’t let others ’kill’ them here.

”Commander Tian, we can’t just stay here,” Xiaoliu, the warrior of the reconnaissance troops, said as he surveyed the surroundings. ”We just bypassed one of the enemy’s barriers. They conduct a search of this area at regular intervals. This downpour works to our advantage—the enemy will also think of this, and they will surely search during the rain.”

”That’s right!” Tian Niu agreed wholeheartedly with him, and with a wave of his hand, he made a very surprising decision, ”Everyone, up the trees!”
