“If even after this, you still fall, then I can only express my regret.” With a sigh, a hint of reluctance appeared on Yu Zi Yu’s face.

However, he had already done everything he could. He had sheltered them for three years and provided them with abundant resources. He had allowed them to grow to this point. In addition, he had even granted them a large number of Tier-3 Artifacts to ensure their safety.

If they were to still perish under these circumstances, then Yu Zi Yu could only express regret. Even so, that didn’t mean that he won’t take revenge. After all, Yu Zi Yu was no saint.

Nevertheless, he was not going to intervene, even if Nine Tails were in dire straits.

After nurturing them for so long, if they failed to demonstrate corresponding value, it would be their failure as well as Yu Zi Yu’s.

As a matter of fact, although Nine Tails and the others had grown steadily and rapidly, they were still not as powerful as some top-tier Mutant Beasts.

After all, those who could grow to Tier-3–the Catastrophe Class, were all gifted.

Given some luck or opportunity, some obtained the chance to rise above the others and truly became ‘top-tier Mutant Beasts’. They now dominated the World of Mutant Beasts, and inevitably reigned over countless Mutant Beasts like Kings.

Thanks to slaughter and plunder, these Kings were no way inferior to Nine Tails and the others in terms of resources; rather, they might even surpass them.

Certainly, Misty Mountains possessed abundant resources, but they also boasted a considerable number of core combatants, including the Nine Great Beasts and two Guardians known to the public, as well as Elemental Commanders who operated covertly.

However, the situation was starkly contrasting for those Kings. They commanded entire Clans dedicated to serving them. Therefore, even if there was a disparity in resources, it wouldn’t be too substantial.

These top-tier Mutant Beasts that grew up in the wilderness had risen to the throne through mountains of corpses and seas of blood, and had honed their combat awareness to a remarkable degree.  As such, Yu Zi Yu clearly understood the disparity between Mutant Beasts of Misty Mountains and them.

After all, when it came to Talents, there wasn’t much difference.

Even in terms of resources, there shouldn’t be that big of a disparity.

However, the Mutant Beasts in the wild had gone through trials and tribulations to reach their current level. In comparison, the flowers nurtured in the greenhouse like Nine Tails would inevitably be inferior.

Since he understood this, Yu Zi Yu also promptly decided to fill this gap. He granted them the trial of blood using this way.

If they could return alive, Yu Zi Yu believed that in the not-too-distant future, they too would have a place among the Mutant Beasts ruling the world.

However, in a way, Yu Zi Yu was also soft-hearted.

To some extent, he had provided them with a way to save their lives. The Transcendent Artifacts happened to be just one of them. He had also provided them with various life-saving abilities and instructions.

In Yu Zi Yu’s opinion, one had to be alive to have the ‘capital to grow.’ As long as they didn’t die in battle, they would eventually grow.

It could be said that Yu Zi Yu had done everything he could.

And now, it was time for them to prove themselves.

“Don’t blame me for being ruthless,” muttering, Yu Zi Yu chose to close his eyes and no longer pay attention to the outside world.

Although there were many strong Transcendents on the continent, the strongest could only be in the Realm of Sovereign.

As for the ‘Emperor of the World’ realm, Yu Zi Yu had not yet sensed anyone reaching this realm. If there were any, they might be found in the depths of the ocean. And if one did appear on this continent, Yu Zi Yu would capture it at first notice.

It would grant Nine Tails and the others a real chance to grow. They at least wouldn’t end up in the embarrassing situation of being slapped to death by an ‘Emperor’.

While walking at the very edge of life and death, they would eventually undergo a transformation.

As for how big of a transformation, that would depend on their destiny.

In addition, to prevent any accidents, Yu Zi Yu had already taken the Steel Progenitor out of the equation.

As a terrifying existence at the Realm of Sovereign, his defense simply couldn’t be breached by Transcendents of the same tier.

Not to mention Nine Tails, even if many Tier-3 Sovereigns were to besiege it, they would not be able to kill it.

A Natural Steel Elemental was no joke so it had to die.

Such an existence posed too great a threat to Nine Tails and the others, to the extent that they did not even have a chance to turn the tables.

…

Meanwhile, to prevent any further disturbances in his mind, Yu Zi Yu chose to quietly cultivate.

For the next month, all he did was wait, wait for Nine Tails and the others to return. Of course, he was also cultivating during this time. Thanks to attacking the entire continent, the resources obtained from the hunt had truly piled up like mountains.

During this one month, Yu Zi Yu’s vast network of countless roots buried deep underground greedily consumed everything beneath the earth’s surface like a monster as carcasses continuously flowed into the depths of the earth amidst surging waves of soil. They all became nourishment for Yu Zi Yu.

Whereas above ground, unique and peculiar Mutant Beasts became the subject of Yu Zi Yu’s dissection one after another.

However, this wasn’t the end of it.

If someone with sharp eyes looked around, they would notice that several different peaks had appeared in the depths of Misty Mountains at some point.

One of them happened to be surrounded by densely packed blue lightning arcs and was shining like sapphires.

It was a Lightning-Attribute Spirit Stone Mine, a medium-sized one at that.

Beside it, there were mountains ablaze like flames and mountains that looked like icebergs.

One by one, Elemental Stone Mines were arranged around Yu Zi Yu’s tree body.

And the most unique and eye-catching of them was a luminous Spirit Stone Mine that shone as bright as daylight but emitted a sacred aura.

This was a very rare Light-Attribute Spirit Stone Mine.

No one else had ever seen it, or even heard about it.

This was the most precious resource Yu Zi Yu had harvested from Steel World.

Although it was only a small-sized Light-Attribute Spirit Stone Mine, it was enough for Yu Zi Yu.

Currently, Yu Zi Yu’s roots slowly coiled around the Spirit Stone Mines one after another like Giant Pythons, absorbing them to their heart’s content.

Immediately afterward, visible to the naked eye, Spiritual Energy of various colors surged through his roots, dyeing them in all kinds of color. Even his Tree Body was glowing with prismatic colors.

However, compared to before, Yu Zi Yu was now surrounded by a sacred aura.

Simultaneously devouring carcasses and turning them into nutrients for his own growth, dissecting Mutant Beasts with amazing Talents, and even absorbing Spirit Stone Mines, Yu Zi Yu’s aura was rising at an astonishing speed visible to the naked eye. It made him ever more mysterious and unfathomable..

For an existence like Yu Zi Yu, multitasking had long ceased to be difficult. With limited time in hand, he naturally chose to make the best use of every second. Multitasking was a natural thing to do.

The reason Yu Zi Yu would only wait for one month was that in the next month, Yu Zi Yu would leave Misty Mountains for–revenge. It might be a simple word, but it made Yu Zi Yu’s heart seethe with killing intent.

Anyone who dared to kill the core figures of Misty Mountains would become the target of his revenge.

That would be the start of the true bloodbath.

The current battles would simply pale in comparison to it, because Yu Zi Yu couldn’t guarantee that after a month of waiting, when he was greeted with familiar yet cold corpses, he wouldn’t go mad…

Even more so, he didn’t dare to guarantee that he wouldn’t wipe out the entire continent in his madness.
