Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1621: Metal Element Core

Even though he had obtained the metal element, Zhang Fei didn’t stop there. He still had the final task, and he tried to form his new cultivation core based on his metal element. With his previous experience forming eight cores, he found it much easier to create the new one, needing less than an hour to do so.

Unfortunately, Zhang Fei lacked the methods of the metal elemental law, making his metal element the weakest of the nine elements.

Lu Wangyi and Ju Jushen looked at the silver cultivation core floating above Zhang Fei’s head in a daze. Forming a cultivation core was the most difficult thing, but he managed to form it in less than an hour. ”How many elements does he have in total?”

”Nine.”

They took a deep breath. Most cultivators only had one cultivation core, and some had two, but their number was far too small. They had also heard of a handful of cultivators with three cores, but their number was even smaller.

For the first time in their lives, they an unbelievable miracle, and the cultivator sitting in front of them had nine cores in his body. Furthermore, Zhang Fei was the only living being to possess three distinct identities in one body: a human, a celestial fox, and a lust demon.

However, they didn’t know that Zhang Fei had a fourth identity, which was the Calamity Demon Dragon. His dragon identity is much more special than his other three identities because there is only one Calamity Demon Dragon in each era, and only the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon can match it.

After the metal element core entered his body, Zhang Fei immediately opened his eyes and breathed a sigh of relief.

”You’re crazy!” Ju Jushen shouted.

Lu Wangyi nodded slightly. ”I’m sure there’s no other cultivator like you in this universe. You possess three identities, nine elements, and nine cultivation cores. If other cultivators want to defeat you, they’ll have to destroy your nine cores first, which is simply impossible.”

”Even though I have some advantages that other cultivators don’t have, I still won’t act arrogantly and carelessly.” Lu Wangyi and Ju Jushen agreed with Zhang Fei. ”One person may not be able to destroy my nine cores, but the situation will be different if hundreds or thousands of people gang up on me at once. That’s why I choose to remain low-key in front of the public eye, and I hope that you two will not tell other people about this matter; otherwise, problem after problem will come to me, which will only waste my time.”

Lu Wangyi and Ju Jushen exchanged glances before replying. ”We swear we won’t tell any other cultivators about your nine cultivation cores or anything else.”

Zhang Fei himself had no problem with the situation, as he had already examined Lu Wangyi and Ju Jushen with his demon eyes and couldn’t find anything negative in their souls. He looked for Dugu Yuanshen, but Luo Yunxiao told him that the old man and his first disciple were undergoing the first challenge.

Zhang Fei stood up and spoke to the other two. ”Since we still have to wait for the second challenge to appear, I want to spar with you two again. Unlike before, I want you two to use your full strength, and you must attack me seriously as if you want to kill me.”

”Eh?”

”But—” Lu Wangyi stopped talking, and her eyes widened as she felt Zhang Fei’s strength increase to the level of hers. ”This? How is this possible?”

”Did you use a secret strengthening technique?” Ju Jushen curiously asked.

”Something like that.” Zhang Fei nodded. ”You two don’t have to worry about me because my strengthening technique is different from others, and I won’t experience any backlash even if I use it all day long.”

Lu Wangyi and Ju Jushen exhaled softly before activating their full power, and both of them immediately attacked Zhang Fei. However, their attacks only struck Zhang Fei’s afterimages, which left them both shocked.

”Haha,” Luo Yunxiao softly laughed as she walked away. ”Two seniors, you have to fight seriously, or my husband will defeat both of you.”

Lu Wangyi and Ju Jushen had no doubts about this, as Zhang Fei was the heir of the ten-tailed fox, so he should possess special abilities that they and other cultivators didn’t possess. They were curious about his power-enhancing technique, but they quickly dismissed it and moved to attack him again.

Meanwhile, Luo Yunxiao sat on the sidelines and watched their fight. Since she was already accustomed to level eight gravity, it wasn’t difficult for her to see their movements.

Luo Yunxiao thought about her conversation with Lu Wangyi and Ju Jushen earlier regarding the mysterious person who told them that her husband would challenge the Tower of Eternity. Moreover, that person told them several years ago, but her husband only learned about the tower a little over a month ago.

Luo Yunxiao recalled the conversation he and Zhang Fei had with the mysterious man before, and she was sure that Feng Yao did all that. ”What does she want from him? Why did she do all that for him? Could it be that she has hidden motives? She has helped him a lot since they lived in the Three Mortal Realms, but it turns out all her help was for her own benefit.”

On the second floor, Qing Qiu’er and You Feiling had already caught up with Helian Xun’er, Tianshi Shengjie, Nalan Wangzhi, and Yue Xuelian in the tenth challenge.

At first, Qing Qiu’er and You Feiling deliberately slowed down their challenge because they were worried about the safety of the people from the Moonlit Passion Temple, but most of them had already left the tower, and the demons had disappeared, so they didn’t hold back anymore.

Just like Helian Xun’er and the others, Qing Qiu’er and You Feiling had been training in Zhang Fei’s training room for decades, so the challenges on the second floor weren’t too much of a hassle for them.

Jian Kuang, Su Shentian, and Zhuxian Sheng had also reached the tenth challenge, followed by Long Wuzhao, Tianshi Bailong, Long Xukong, and Yue Ningxue.

The group from the Divine Samsara Sect also continued to advance in their challenges, with Li Guangyu being in the eighth challenge because he had already challenged the tower several times in the past. The majority of the disciples and elders of the sect had disappeared because they were unable to face those challenges, and they immediately left the Glazed Heaven Domain according to Liang Huizhong’s orders.

Liang Huizhong and the elders who arrived at the tower later had already reached the second floor and began their challenge. They were extremely cautious due to Feng Yao’s presence, and they were also wary of the mysterious people who had previously attempted to pit them against the demons.

The second group from the War God Pavilion had also arrived on the second floor, and they were a little surprised to find so many people already arriving for the final challenge. They ignored the people in front of them and began their first challenge.

Lu Shaqing, Gong Wei, Yue Qianrou, Yue Qingyi, Nong Qinwei, Lan Xuening, Dongfang Yuechan, and a few others were still struggling to continue their challenge. They chose to stop and rest first, as they didn’t want to overexert themselves, or they would fail the next challenge.

Wang Jingzhi and Wang Yusheng were also on the second floor, and they had already reached the fifth challenge, though they had struggled to get there. Only a few disciples from the Divine Samsara Sect could match them, such as Wang Tieshan, Hua Liuying, and a few others.

Feng Yao remained unmoved from her spot in front of the entrance to the second floor, as she watched the crowd, especially those from the Divine Samsara Sect. She also had several things on her mind, including discussing her true identity with Zhang Fei.

Zhang Fei [1] and Feltia [2] had already brought everyone to the first floor of the Tower of Eternity. Since all the demons had left and all the powerful cultivators had gone to the second floor, they asked Zhang Chen and the others to challenge the first floor.

Although all the challenges on the first floor would be useless for Yao Qilin and Fei Lian, Zhang Fei [1] asked them to join the others because the two female beasts had never challenged the tower before.

”Son,” Zhang Fei [1] turned to Feng Jiu. ”Is there something on your mind? I’ve been watching you for a while, and your expression looks unusually serious.”

”Did you encounter any problems on the third floor?” Feng Tian also asked him.

Zhang Fei [1] shook his head. ”I didn’t encounter any problems on the third floor, and I was just thinking about the best way to go to the Ancient Realm. Those shadowy creatures have invaded many places there, including the tower in the Zhanlu Domain, and they are truly powerful.”

”Are you thinking about going to the Ancient Realm anytime soon? Are you ready for that?”

Zhang Fei [1] sighed. ”I have no choice but to go to the Ancient Realm because the old fox’s last two souls are in two domains in that realm, and my soul must merge with them first before I can meet his wrath soul.”

”I see.” Feng Jiu nodded in understanding. ”I know those two souls are important to you, but you have to think things through carefully first, okay?”

”Don’t worry, I won’t make any rash decisions.”
