Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1620: Obtained Metal Element

After swallowing the metal elemental seed, Zhang Fei felt something emerge within him, enveloping his body in a faint, silver aura, unlike before.

Ju Jushen and Lu Wangyi carefully observed Zhang Fei, but they also did not relax their watch at the entrance to the third floor.

Meanwhile, Dugu Yuanshen sat in front of the stone gate, watching Zhang Fei and stroking his beard. ’This kid’s luck is really good! No cultivator ever knew that this place held a peak-grade metal elemental seed, but he managed to obtain it in his first challenge. If he manages to complete all the challenges on this floor, he will probably return with many valuable items that will be useful to his sect.’

Dugu Yuanshen looked towards the entrance when he felt the aura of one of his disciples, and Dugu Liangsen walked onto the third floor after he completed the final challenge on the second floor. ”Two seniors, he is my first disciple.”

Ju Jushen and Lu Wangyi simply nodded and let Dugu Liangsen pass, who immediately walked towards his master while looking at Zhang Fei.

”Who is that young man, Master? I didn’t see him before, but he’s already on this third floor,” Dugu Liangsen asked as soon as he arrived beside his master.

”His name is Zhang Fei, and he is one of the leaders of the Moonlit Passion Temple. You took too long to complete your last challenge, so you didn’t know about his arrival in this tower, and he managed to climb to this third floor much faster than you.” Dugu Liangsen smiled bitterly upon hearing that, but he was surprised to hear that someone from the sect had managed to reach the third floor, which was unprecedented. ”The woman beside him is his wife, Luo Yunxiao. She is the daughter of Luo Fengyan and Huang Xiaoyi from the Immortal Lotus Sanctuary.”

Dugu Liangsen only glanced at Luo Yunxiao. ”Then, who are those two, Master? Why do you address them as seniors?”

”They are much more senior than me, and they are in the same generation as Emperor Long and the others, Liangsen.” Dugu Liangsen looked at his master. ”The man is the leader of the giant race, Ju Jushen. The woman is the leader of the druid race, Lu Wangyi.”

”Oh.” Dugu Liangsen nodded slightly before returning his gaze to Zhang Fei. ”What is he doing, Master? Why do the two seniors seem to be protecting him?”

”He just got a valuable item from his first challenge, and he’s absorbing it now.” Dugu Liangsen knew that there were many valuable items on the third floor, but he didn’t expect Zhang Fei to get one on his first challenge, making him a little envious. ”You shouldn’t bother him, Liangsen. Although his cultivation is far below yours, I can tell you that he’s truly powerful, and he can defeat you even if you use our secret technique.”

Dugu Liangsen looked at his master again and raised his eyebrows slightly. ”Is he really that strong, Master?”

”Yes.” Dugu Yuanshen nodded. ”Otherwise, he and his wife wouldn’t be able to go to the third floor much faster than you, right? Besides, you can see for yourself that those two powerful seniors are willing to protect him voluntarily, so you can’t underestimate him.”

”I understand, Master.”

”What about Dugu Xuanye and Ru Feiyan? Have they completed their previous challenges?”

”Dugu Xuanye has already begun the final challenge, and Ru Feiyan is facing the ninth challenge. Besides them, I saw four women, including Sect Master Yue Xuelian, and they have just begun their final challenge. Anyways, why are Emperor Long and those renowned cultivators on the second floor?”

Dugu Yuanshen sighed and explained everything to his first disciple, especially about the presence of demons from the three previous races in the tower. ”Emperor Long and the others came here specifically to fight them, and they are also protecting the other cultivators. If not for them, the demons would have wreaked havoc on the second floor.”

”Then, who is the woman guarding the entrance to the second floor?”

”That woman is the most dangerous cultivator in this Paradise Realm, and no one dares to oppose her, including Emperor Long and the four perils.”

”Who is she?”

”Empress Huo Yanling.”

Upon hearing that, Dugu Liangsen’s jaw dropped. He naturally knew about Empress Huo Yanling, and he greatly admired her after hearing about her exploits in the past. However, he had never met her before because she decided to abandon everything and reincarnate, something no cultivator would ever do. Moreover, he had heard of the actions of the women from the Blazing Nirvana Domain, and they slaughtered all cultivators who had ever tried to invade their domain, which was done on the orders of their empress.

Dugu Yuanshen pointed at Zhang Fei. ”That young man is Empress Huo’s future husband, so—”

”Eh? Is he really Empress Huo’s future husband, Master?”

”Yes.” Dugu Yuanshen nodded. ”Everyone in the Paradise Realm has heard that Empress Huo has a husband-to-be, and the news came from her. Besides, she’s decided to protect the Moonlit Passion Temple, which she never did in the past.”

Dugu Liangsen nodded in understanding, but he and Dugu Yuanshen were suddenly sent to their first challenge.

”How long will it take him to complete this?”

Lu Wangyi shook her head at Ju Jushen. ”I’ve never used an elemental seed before, so I can’t say for sure how long the process will take. However, I once heard from someone who also obtained a metal elemental seed in the past that the process ended in three days, but that person ultimately failed to obtain the element.”

”I don’t think it will be that long.” They turned to Luo Yunxiao. ”My husband has already used several elemental seeds, and he completed all the processes to absorb them in just one day.”

”What elemental seeds has he absorbed in the past?”

”Wind, ice, water, lightning, and wood.”

”Did he get those elements?”

”My husband got all five elements.” Luo Yunxiao’s answer shocked Lu Wangyi and Ju Jushen. ”He managed to obtain them with the help of five people; otherwise, he probably would never have obtained them.”

”Who were the people who helped him at that time?”

”A wind fairy, an ice phoenix, a water beast, and a lightning spirit helped him obtain all four elements. As for the wood element, you should have heard of Jia Yuyan, right?”

”Do you mean the granddaughter of Jia Lingzhu and Jia Shengyun?” Lu Wangyi asked.

”That’s right.” Luo Yunxiao nodded. ”My husband met Jia Yuyan in the upper realm, and they have been husband and wife ever since.”

Lu Wangyi nodded in understanding. ”I’ve heard that Zhang Fei defeated Jia Zizhen a few years ago, but I initially didn’t understand why he interfered in the Fairy Race’s affairs.”

”Haha,” Luo Yunxiao laughed softly. ”Jia Zizhen wanted Jia Yuyan to be his wife, but my husband already took her. Since he held her grandparents hostage and threatened them, our husband decided to take action against the former fairy king.”

”Jia Zizhen is truly a bastard!” Ju Jushen cursed. ”He trapped the former fairy king, causing him to die at the hands of demons. After he ascended the throne, he eliminated his rivals, including Beiming Youhuang and Jia Xianzu. In the end, he got his karma, and he is completely useless now.”

”Actually, Beiming Youhuang is my master, and I’ve known her story since I was little.” Both Lu Wangyi and Ju Jushen were surprised by that. ”However, everything is in the past now, and my master decided not to return to the Fairy Race.”

Lu Wangyi nodded slightly. ”That incident happened before you were born, and Beiming Youhuang has already left her race since then, so I’m not surprised she’s unwilling to return there. As for Jia Xianzu, he chose to abandon his true identity and guard the Star Tower as Wan Jiang, but I heard that he abandoned his position and disappeared from the public eye.”

”Senior Jia Xianzu never disappeared, Senior.” Lu Wangyi raised an eyebrow. ”Since several years ago, he and my master were helping my husband with something, so the two of them never appeared in public, and they will certainly reappear once they complete their task.”

Lu Wangyi and Ju Jushen were curious about it, but they chose not to ask anything too private about Zhang Fei.

”Anyways, have you two completed all the challenges on this third floor?”

”Yes.” Ju Jushen nodded at her. ”We’ve lived on this third floor for several years, waiting for your husband to come here.”

”Where did you two get the information that my husband would be coming to this tower?”

Lu Wangyi shook her head. ”Honestly, we don’t know the source, but a mysterious message told us that he would be coming to this tower, and the sender asked us to wait here. Since we had heard about him, we decided to follow the message and wait for him to come here.”

Luo Yunxiao furrowed her brows and thought about it, and she immediately guessed that it was Feng Yao or Hu Tianlang’s wrath soul who told them about it.

*Swoosh*

A silver aura suddenly erupted from Zhang Fei’s body, startling them.

”So fast!” Lu Wangyi and Ju Jushen exclaimed. ”He actually managed to obtain the metal element!”

”Hehe,” Luo Yunxiao giggled. ”Since my husband managed to obtain the other five elements using their elemental seeds, I was certain that he would obtain the metal element, which would be useful for his profession as a blacksmith.”
