Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1613: Pit The Enemies

Yue Ningxue, who had just completed her challenge, looked at Liang Huizhong’s group. ”Did you guys just arrive?”

”Yes, Ancestor Ningxue.” Liang Huizhong looked at the demons from the Torture Demon Race and the Thousand Eyes Demon Race. ”Ancestor, the demons from the Heavenly Fiend Demon Race have already fled, so I think we should target Ku Shan and the others.”

Yue Ningxue raised an eyebrow and looked at those demons, thinking about their next move. She knew Ku Shenzu was powerful because she had fought him in the past, but he was not as strong as Qian Yan.

After all, Qian Yan was a demon beast god, and he had support from the four perils. Besides, his middle eye ability was so terrifying that it made Yue Ningxue think twice about attacking his subordinates. If she attacked them, she was afraid that he and the four perils would retaliate against the Heavenlight Domain and the Divine Samsara Sect, resulting in excessive casualties.

The Divine Samsara Sect still had several powerful ancestors who hadn’t appeared in a long time. However, Yue Ningxue wasn’t confident their combined strength would be enough to defeat Qian Yan and the four perils, so she chose to avoid clashing with them, and the demons of the Torture Demon Race were her best option.

*Swoosh*

Several black fireballs suddenly shot towards Liang Huizhong and the elders of the Divine Samsara Sect, and their source came from the Torture Demon Race’s group.

Liang Huizhong and the others hurriedly parried those black fireballs, but they were blown back as soon as their counterattack clashed with those black fireballs.

”Cough.” Liang Huizhong coughed slightly as he wiped away a bit of blood that came out of his mouth. He glared at Ku Shan and Ku Yin, who looked baffled by the appearance of those black fireballs, as they had never used such a technique. ”Damn it! Those attacks just now were really strong.”

Yue Ningxue raised an eyebrow as she realized something. She searched around the first floor, and she was sure that it was Zhang Fei who attacked Liang Huizhong and the others just now, but she couldn’t find his three clones there. ’What does he want? Does he intend to pit us against those demons?’

*Swoosh*

Once again, several black fireballs shot towards Liang Huizhong and the elders of the Divine Samsara Sect, but this time they came from the area where the Thousand Eyes Demon Race entourage was located, and the black fireballs were more powerful than the previous ones.

Liang Huizhong and the others tried to block the black fireballs, but they were knocked back once again until they reached the entrance by the impact of their attacks, causing some of them to vomit blood. ”Shit! Those attacks just now are more powerful than before.”

Qian Kuang and Qian Hufeng were also shocked by it because they and his subordinates did not attack Liang Huizhong and the others, making them realize that there were some people hiding on the first floor and trying to provoke a fight between them.

They tried searching the area around the first floor, but they also found no one there. ’Whoever attacked those people has excellent hiding abilities!’

Yue Ningxue tried to contact Zhang Fei, and his reply made her frown and become furious. However, she herself was already under his control after their souls merged into one, leaving her powerless to stop him. ’Tch! He’s really too much!’

Zhang Fei’s three clones thought about attacking the demons of both demon races, but they abandoned their plans because they needed them to deal with Liang Huizhong and the others.

Liang Huizhong looked at those demons while clutching his chest, feeling the pain from the previous attack. He was sure that the attack just now did not belong to the demons, and another person attacked them while hiding his or her presence. ’Who exactly attacked us? The power of that attack just now was equivalent to that of a cultivator at the Three-Sun Celestial Venerable Realm or even higher.”

*Tap... Tap...*

All of them looked towards the entrance to the second floor and saw Feng Yao standing there with a faint smile. ”You guys are getting so impatient, huh? All of you can fight if you want, and I’ll be watching your fight from here.”

”Empress Huo, please help us get rid of those demons.”

”Why should I help you and your sect members? Compared to other cultivators, I know the rottenness within the Divine Samsara Sect, but you’re lucky that I’m not concerned about your affairs; otherwise, I would have eliminated you all long ago.” Feng Yao’s answer made Liang Huizhong’s expression ugly, but he himself knew that he never cared about other people who had no relationship with him. ”Besides, you guys are targeting my husband, right? That makes me even lazier to help you, and the people in the Paradise Realm will be grateful if you all die at the hands of the demons.”

Liang Huizhong and the elders stiffened as they stared at Feng Yao, not expecting her to know about their plan to capture Zhang Fei.

Ku Shan looked at Feng Yao. ”Are you really not going to interfere in our fight, Empress Huo?”

”Are you deaf?” Huo Ling appeared behind Feng Yao. ”You demons are just trash and disgusting creatures, and I will burn you alive if you dare doubt her words.”

Ku Yan and the other grand elders swallowed their saliva as the eternal flame appeared behind Huo Ling. ’What kind of flame is that? The heat doesn’t feel hot at all, but we can sense a dreadful threat from it.’

”Ling’er.” Huo Ling removed the eternal flame after Feng Yao called out to her. ”Like I said before, I don’t care if you all want to fight here, and I think it would be good if you could kill a few of them, especially Liang Huizhong.”

’This bitch!’ Liang Huizhong cursed in his heart.

Yue Ningxue sighed. ”Empress Huo, you—”

”Shut up, little girl.” Yue Ningxue wrinkled her forehead. ”If you’re truly capable of saving your sect’s people, you can try to save them from these demons yourself. The moment they target my husband, they are my enemies, but I won’t personally kill them, at least not now. If these demons can’t kill them, I might have to step in and do it myself. As for now, I just want to watch a good show, so don’t disappoint me, guys.”

Ku Shan and Ku Yin exchanged a brief glance before returning to their demon forms, followed by Qian Kuang and Qian Hufeng. Their subordinates did the same, immediately moving towards Liang Huizhong and the others.

Liang Huizhong and the elders immediately activated their powers and drew their weapons to fight the demons. Unlike the demons, who could move more freely on the first floor, they could only advance or retreat outside because they hadn’t completed many challenges.

Yue Ningxue couldn’t stand by as the demons intended to attack her sect members, and she immediately mobilized her strength. However, her strength suddenly vanished, and Huo Ling was already behind her. ”Don’t interfere.”

”You—” Yue Ningxue hadn’t finished speaking, but Huo Ling had already brought her to Feng Yao’s side, which shocked her. After all, she hadn’t completed her challenge, and no cultivator could fly to the stairs leading to the second floor without completing all the challenges. ’How could she bypass those challenges and bring me here?’

Yue Ningxue had long realized that Feng Yao was not an ordinary cultivator, but she did not expect that Huo Ling was as unusual as her.

”Are you surprised?”

”Who exactly are you two?”

Feng Yao shook her head slightly. ”A weakling like you doesn’t need to know.”

Yue Ningxue was annoyed by this because she was one of the strongest cultivators in the Paradise Realm, but Feng Yao called her a weakling. However, she had to accept the fact that she and Huo Ling could restrict her movements, making her unable to move or use her powers.

”Let’s watch their battles, shall we?”

Yue Ningxue sighed inwardly. ”Are you really going to let those demons kill Liang Huizhong and the others?”

”You guys have suppressed so many domains and sects to strengthen the Divine Samsara Sect, so you should be prepared for the coming retribution, right?” Yue Ningxue chose not to comment on that. ”Besides, they can escape from this tower if they can’t handle those demons, so you shouldn’t need to worry about them.”

Yue Ningxue still didn’t say anything to answer Feng Yao, but she sent a voice message to Liang Huizhong and those elders to leave the tower for now; at least they should wait until those demons go to the second floor.

After receiving Yue Ningxue’s orders, Liang Huizhong hurriedly led the elders out of the tower, feeling humiliated. He was furious and frustrated with their situation, but they couldn’t face four demon grand elders and their subordinates at once.

”Hahaha! They’re just cowards!” Ku Yin’s laughter echoed throughout the first floor after the men fled.

”Even so, we shouldn’t be happy because they might summon their other ancestors, and we’ll be dead if they all come to this tower.” Ku Shan looked toward the second-floor gate, but Feng Yao and Yue Ningxue had already disappeared from there. ”How did Empress Huo manage to bring that woman there without going through all those challenges?”

”No one knows.” Qian Kuang shook his head. ”Empress Huo has always been mysterious since the past, and none of our demon gods dared to go against her.”

”Are we going to chase those people?” Qian Hufeng asked.

Ku Shan shook his head. ”If we leave this tower now, we’ll have to repeat all the challenges here, so we shouldn’t do that and head to the second floor as soon as possible.”

”Let’s go then.”
