Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1615: Third Floor

Time passed quickly, and a week passed swiftly. The demons of both demon races had already reached the stairs to the second floor, but Feng Yao’s crimson flames prevented them from proceeding.

Ku Yin and Ku Shan tried to break through the blockade, but Feng Yao’s crimson flames immediately counterattacked them, severely injuring them.

Qian Kuang and Qian Hufeng wanted to try attacking, but they abandoned their plan after examining Ku Yin and Ku Shan’s injuries. Their injuries were quite severe even from a small counterattack, and they would face the same fate as the two if they forced their way through.

Behind them, Dugu Qingshu and the people from the War God Pavilion were slightly surprised by the incident. They guessed that Feng Yao was preventing the demons from ascending to the second floor, especially since their presence there would bring trouble to everyone undergoing their challenges.

Dugu Qingshu and the others thought about attacking those demons, but Dugu Yuanshen ordered them not to make a move against them and focus on their challenges, so they abandoned their intentions.

After they checked their injuries, Ku Yin and Ku Shan decided to take their men to leave the tower. Qian Kuang and Qian Hufeng also did the same, as they couldn’t possibly face the cultivators with their group alone, rendering the three demon races’ plans futile. Even so, they had previously captured many human cultivators in the forest, so their purpose for going to the Glazed Heaven Domain was not entirely in vain.

After learning of the demons’ departure, Liang Huizhong and the elders of the Divine Samsara Sect decided to enter the tower. However, their goal of entering the tower failed miserably as they failed to kill the demons, which all happened because of Zhang Fei’s actions a week ago. Since the situation was safe, they did not leave the tower and underwent all the challenges on the first floor.

The people from the War God Pavilion could see that Feng Yao’s crimson flames disappeared from the entrance to the second floor, and they immediately quickened their pace to complete all the challenges on the first floor.

Li Guangyu had also received information from Liang Huizhong about the demons’ departure from the tower, which relieved him and meant he no longer needed to worry about the disciples of their sect. He focused entirely on all the challenges on the second floor, hoping to reach the third floor this time.

Another week passed.

The people from the War God Pavilion who were previously on the first floor had made it to the second floor, where quite a few cultivators were undergoing their challenges, except for Feng Yao. Although Dugu Yuanshen had informed them, they were still quite surprised to see so many people manage to reach the ninth area.

The situation on the second floor was completely safe without the presence of the demon races, and the cultivators there weren’t concerned about each other’s presence. The cultivators were preoccupied with their own challenges, which posed significant difficulties for them.

Two weeks have passed since they began their challenges, but Nalan Wangzi, Tianshi Shengjie, Yue Xuelian, and Helian Xun’er still haven’t managed to complete their ninth challenge.

Su Shentian, Jian Kuang, Zhuxian Sheng, Yue Ningxue, and the three dragons faced no difficulty in any of their challenges. It only took them two weeks to reach the eighth area.

The people from the Moonlit Passion Temple, the Hidden Moon Sect, the Celestial Moon Sect, and Spring Zenith Sect encountered significant difficulties in their challenges.

Some of them decided to give up and return outside the forest, and Zhang Fei [1] sent them back to the Twin Flames Domain.

The remaining people from their entourage were Qing Qiu’er, You Feiling, Lu Shaqing, Gong Wei, Yue Qianrou, Yue Qingyi, Nong Qinwei, Lan Xuening, Dongfang Yuechan, and a few others.

Meanwhile, the disciples of the Divine Samsara Sect struggled to complete their third challenge, as did Wang Jingzhi and Wang Yusheng. However, they felt reassured after learning that the demons had disappeared from the tower, so they didn’t need to feel pressured to continue.

After two weeks, Zhang Fei and Luo Yunxiao finally completed their tenth challenge, leaving them smiling with joy. ”How was your last challenge, Husband? Did you have any difficulties?”

”No,” Zhang Fei replied with a shake of his head. ”I’ve long since made peace with my past, so the first test wasn’t difficult for me. I’ve also met Yuan Xiajie, Qian Yan, and Taotie before, so I was able to pass them straight away. As for those fake futures, they don’t affect me because my future is in my hands, but it took me a long time to absorb those soul fragments. Unfortunately, their number was too small for my soul power to break through to the immortal soul level.”

”Hehe,” Luo Yunxiao hugged and kissed him. ”I already guessed that the final challenge wouldn’t be difficult for you, but the number of those soul fragments was too many, so we needed a long time to absorb everything.”

”Yeah.” Zhang Fei looked back and smiled at Nalan Wangzi, Tianshi Shengjie, Yue Xuelian, and Helian Xun’er. He swept his gaze over the others, not expecting Su Shentian, Jian Kuang, Zhuxian Sheng, Yue Ningxue, and the three dragons to complete their first seven challenges so quickly.

Zhang Fei was a little disappointed because only a few people from the Moonlit Passion Temple, the Hidden Moon Sect, the Celestial Moon Sect, and Spring Zenith Sect were left on the second floor.

Zhang Fei didn’t expect Wang Jingzhi and Wang Yusheng to still have difficulty facing all the challenges on the second floor, even though they had both challenged the tower several times in the past. He wasn’t concerned about the people from the Divine Samsara Sect, and he hoped that they would fail or die, but it was all in vain because the demons had already left the tower.

”You can go to the third floor now, and I will protect them here.” Zhang Fei looked at Feng Yao in the distance. ”I don’t know whether you can open the gate on the third floor or not, but you shouldn’t go straight to the Zhanlu Domain if you do, and you should wait for the others.”

Zhang Fei simply nodded and lifted Luo Yunxiao to his feet. ”Would you like to join us on the third floor, Senior?”

”Yes.” Dugu Yuanshen rose from his seat and looked at his disciples. ”The situation in the tower has calmed down now, and my disciples will definitely be able to pass their challenges, so I will go to the third floor with you two.”

”Let’s go, Senior.”

When the three of them arrived at the second floor, they saw two people from the natural races meditating there.

”Husband, don’t those two come from the giant and druid races?” Luo Yunxiao whispered.

The woman looked so young, and she had blonde hair that flowed down to the floor, with bangs covering her forehead. Her ears were pointy like an elf’s, but she wasn’t an elf, and her lips looked sensual. Even though she looked young, like a girl in her twenties, she had a mature and alluring figure, and her body exuded a sensual aura that could captivate the hearts of men. Her figure was quite tall, around 6’3”. She had perfect hourglass curves and beautiful long legs. The sexy green dress accentuated her smooth, fair complexion, highlighting her prominent E-Cup breasts beneath.

As for the man, Zhang Fei was not surprised by him because his appearance was similar to the members of the giant race who had sworn allegiance to him, such as Ju Tan and the others.

”Yes,” Zhang Fei observed the two of them. ’Scan their status, Mei.’

Zhang Fei nodded slightly as he read their statuses. ’So, they’re the two people Tianshi Shengjie was referring to back then, eh? The male giant is already so powerful, but the female druid is even stronger than him, and her cultivation is on par with Qing Qiu’er’s.’

”Do you two know them?”

Zhang Fei shook his head at Dugu Yuanshen. ”This is my first time seeing them, and the female druid is just as powerful as you, Senior.”

”I’ve never met them before either.” Luo Yunxiao answered him.

Hearing their voices, Ju Jushen and Lu Wangyi opened their eyes, but their attention was solely focused on Zhang Fei.

*Boom*

In an instant, Ju Jushen disappeared from their sight, but Zhang Fei immediately moved, and their fists clashed moments later. Both of them were pushed back a few steps, but they quickly stabilized themselves.

Dugu Yuanshen wanted to help Zhang Fei, but Luo Yunxiao stopped him. ”Don’t interfere, Senior.”

”Why?”

”This is their private matter, and my husband must face that male giant himself to prove his strength.” Dugu Yuanshen raised his eyebrows slightly, looking at Luo Yunxiao’s confident smile. ”Don’t worry, my husband won’t lose to him.”

Ju Jushen and Zhang Fei dashed toward each other, and their fierce fists collided once again, causing both of them to stagger a few steps back.

*Boom*

Zhang Fei raised an eyebrow as several tree roots moved toward him, but he immediately used his Tree Control and Plant Manipulation abilities to control them before dispelling them.
