Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1233: Jiu Mozu - Ye Mingran - Qi Qingxiu

Ye Mingran, who was cultivating in the darkness of the night, suddenly opened her eyes. ”What are you doing in my place in the middle of the night, Jiu Mozu? Are you so afraid of death that you brought your subordinates here?”

”Do you think I’m afraid of you?” Jiu Mozu then sat on a small boulder, with the eight demons standing behind him. ”You are strong at night, but I manage to become the Demon God of my Nine Nether Demon Race not without a reason. Those two damn demon gods are always targeting me, so I always take them with me wherever I go. I got information that Ye Futian and some members of your race secretly infiltrated the Calamity Domain, so I’m sure you know something about Mo Shentian.”

Ye Mingran raised an eyebrow and looked at the female demon with a black eye floating above her head. ”If you didn’t have that woman, you would have died long ago.”

”Hahaha.” Jiu Mozi laughed at that. ”You’re right, I’m indeed fortunate to have Jiu Youming by my side. So, what kind of information do you have on Mo Shentian?”

”Mo Shentian tried to establish communication with Taotie and the others, so he sent Mo Taizi and two elders to the dungeon to meet them.” Ye Mingran’s answer shocked Jiu Mozi and his subordinates. ”He’s targeting Wu Mian now, and those beasts tell him to look for Dong Xuanyin. According to them, she has the ability to see through even the most perfect disguise.”

Jiu Mozi put on a bad look. ”If she is willing to help him, he will succeed in locating the real body of the Faceless Demon God, making it difficult for us to identify intruders within our demon races.”

”That’s right.” Ye Mingran nodded at him. ”Fu Tian wanted to find out how far Mo Shentian’s preparations were to conquer the other demon races, but he hasn’t found anything until now.”

”Mo Shentian has always been cautious and secretive, so there’s no way he would let his secrets be revealed that easily.” Ye Mingran nodded in agreement, and Jiu Mozi turned to his subordinates. ”Youming, I want you to use your eye abilities to help Ye Futian. If that guy manages to find Wu Mian’s true body, our Nine Nether Demon Race will also be in danger, so you must do your best to uncover his secrets.”

”Yes, Demon God.” The black eye above Jiu Youming immediately disappeared.

Jiu Mozi then asked Ye Mingran again. ”Are there any other demon gods who know about this matter?”

”Nalan Shizhe.”

”Oh?” Jiu Mozi was a little surprised. ”Do you know her plans? Do you trust her? After all, Nalan Wangzi is Mo Taizi’s fiancée, and she will become Mo Shentian’s in-law soon.”

”None of the demon gods are trustworthy, including you.”

”Hahaha.” Jiu Mozi laughed at that. ”You’re right, I am indeed not trustworthy. I could report you to Mo Shentian, and he would come here to attack you. What if we unite our two races? You—”

”Do you think you’re worthy of me?” Ye Mingran coldly asked. ”If you have no other business, you can leave now, as your presence is an eyesore.”

”Tch!” Jiu Mozi immediately flew away, and the eight demons swiftly followed behind him. ”Let’s go back!”

”Haha! That brat never changes, and he still wants you to be his wife, Mingran.” Ye Mingran looked at Qi Qingxiu, who had just arrived. ”Where did you get the information about Mo Shentian and the evil beast races?”

”Didn’t your members tell you anything about what happened in the dungeon?” Qi Qingxiu shook her head in response, prompting Ye Mingran to explain a few things to her. ”Mo Shentian knew that Qiongqi had long yearned for you to be his wife, and he promised them that he would hand you over to him if they managed to help him unite all the demon races. Unfortunately, his plans didn’t go smoothly, and all those evil beasts fell into Long Wuzhao’s hands.”

Qi Qingxiu’s forehead creased. ”Why did Long Wuzhao enter that dungeon?”

”You’re wrong about that.” Ye Mingran denied that. ”Long Wuzhao didn’t enter the dungeon at first, but someone picked him and the others up after he found out about Mo Shentian’s plans. He couldn’t defeat those evil beasts by himself, so he asked for their help to fight them.”

”Who is the man you mean?”

”We met that man in the Forbidden Land back then.”

”Huh?” Qi Qingxiu was shocked to hear that. ”Is that man really Zhang Fei?”

”Yes.” Ye Mingran nodded slightly. ”You saw the Celestial Dragon Princess by his side at that time, so you shouldn’t be surprised that he was able to summon Long Wuzhao and the others, right?”

Qi Qingxiu’s expression turned slightly angry as she remembered the Heavenly Jade Brush. She had desperately wanted it to create a formation, but Luo Yunxiao had snatched it from her and handed it to Zhang Fei. ”Do you know where he is now?”

”Qingxiu, I know you’re angry because Zhang Fei snatched the Heavenly Jade Brush from you, but you should forget about that matter. In fact, it’s more beneficial if you establish a good relationship with him, and he can help us to defeat Mo Shentian.” Qi Qingxiu frowned in response to Ye Mingran’s statement. ”I, Ye Futian, and Nalan Shizhe met him before the dungeon opened. I learned many things in our meeting, including his status as Futian’s great-grand disciple.”

”Oh?” Qi Qingxiu was shocked by this, but Ye Mingran’s next words shocked her even more.

”Zhang Fei is Nalan Yushu’s husband, so he is Nalan Shizhe’s son-in-law.”

”Are you kidding me? How—”

”He rescued her soul from the Star Tower, and he helped her reshape her body.” Qi Qingxiu naturally knew that Nalan Yushu’s soul was sent there by Tian Qiye, but she didn’t expect that she would have such a relationship with Zhang Fei. ”There’s one more thing about him, but I can’t tell you, at least for now. We’ve known each other for a long time, so you should already know my character, and I can say with certainty that being on his side is the best choice for us. Currently, there are three camps in our demon races: the first is the Calamity and Asura Demon Races, the second is our three demon races, and the third is the rest of them, except for the Faceless Demon Race.”

Qi Qingxiu nodded with that. ”Why are you so sure that Zhang Fei will succeed in helping us defeat Mo Shentian?”

”Have you forgotten the identities of the two women who accompanied him in the Forbidden Land?” Qi Qingxiu naturally remembered Feng Yao and Huo Ling’s presence at that time, and Ye Mingran immediately spoke to her again. ”Even Long Wuzhao was willing to answer his call, so you shouldn’t have any doubts about him, right? He is weaker than us now, but his talent surpasses any cultivator I’ve ever met, and he has people of their caliber by his side.”

Qi Qingxiu released a soft sigh. ”Empress Huo Yanling, the Eternal Flame, and Long Wuzhao. Every single one of them is already too terrifying even for Mo Shentian, and their strength will be even more frightening if they join one team.”

”That’s right.” Ye Mingran then informed her of something else. ”Additionally, Zhang Fei also has good relations with Tian Yizu, Jia Lingzhu, Jia Shengyun, Feng Bingying, Feng Shizhu, and many more people.”

Qi Qingxiu released a soft sigh. ”So, where is Zhang Fei now?”

”The Moonlit Passion Temple.” Ye Mingran’s answer took Qi Qingxiu aback. ”He’s a dual cultivator, and that sect can be said to be his now, even though Qing Qiu’er is still their sect master. By the way, you don’t need to go there now because he’s already entered seclusion again, and no one knows when he’ll come out.”

Qi Qingxiu nodded slightly. ”Does he know about Dong Xuanyin’s whereabouts?”

”No.” Ye Mingran shook her head in response. ”For now, our main task is to search for Wu Mian’s real body, and we must find him before Mo Shentian. If he finds him before us, we will never be able to stop him from uniting all the demon races, and he will control everything.”

”But where should we look for Wu Mian’s real body?” Qi Qingxiu was confused by that, particularly since almost all the demon races had been trying to find him for so many years to no avail.

Ye Mingran shrugged. ”All these years, we’ve searched for Wu Mian throughout every domain in this realm, but we haven’t looked anywhere else.”

”You mean?” Ye Mingran nodded to Qi Qingxiu. ”Is that possible? Have you sent your subordinates there? If he is hiding there, how can he reach our level?”

”I don’t have an answer to that myself yet, but I don’t think it really matters, and the most important thing is that we have to find Wu Mian before Mo Shentian.” Qi Qingxiu fell into deep thought, but Ye Mingran then informed her of the plan she had devised with Nalah Shizhe a few days ago. ”Do you want to join us?”

”I’m in! When are we leaving?”

”As soon as possible, but we have to monitor the situation first, and I also still have to wait for Futian to come back.”

Qi Qingxiu nodded in understanding. ”In that case, I’ll start preparing, and you can tell me when it’s time for us to move.”

”Alright.”
